The sound never works in the sauna and there are no remotes like at other locations to remedy the issue. There is NEVER anyone at this location. They pick and choose when they have a staff member on site. The vending machines do not work with Apple Pay or android pay. Horrible experience in trying to cancel my membership. Did as I was told by them, went in person to cancel with the manager only to be told the manager had left for the day. I was told to come back which I could not because I was working until I moved from that city. I called and talked to the manager who told me to send them a letter requesting cancellation. I sent the letter certified mail and 90 days later they are still charging me. I expected the first 60 as that's their policy but to be charged again? If you read their reviews this is an issue. Wish I had read them BEFORE I signed the contract. This is NOT a reputable company. Go to another place. If not you will regret it! Totally unprofessional experience with this business. read more

A heated fitness concept that is slowly making its way around the US, if not the world! Why workout in a heated room when Louisiana outside heat is just as harsh? I was told infrared heat is a good detoxing strategy for your body! Also, they are open 24/7 for those that work unusual hours. Walking into a room that holds up to 3 people, you follow the prompts video to begin your sessions. I was told the yoga session was a good first time beginner's choice, and rowing or cycling (10 min HIIT session) is more for the cardio lovers. I personally loved the cycling and rowing! Because it was my first time, I followed the videos as best as I could, without going overboard....I need time to warm up! Lol Overall, a really fun experience! It is a must try! I absolutely LOVE being part of the HOTWORX family! Not only is the staff fantastic, but this is the first exercise experience that I have truly fallen in love with and stuck to consistently! I lost 40lbs in my first 8 months of going consistently and changing my eating habits. The routines are challenging but low impact which is great since I have a lot of old sports injuries that get aggravated by lots of other classes. The focus you need is also great for releasing stress! BONUS- the sauna makes a yoga or Pilates class the perfect detox the morning after you party a little too hard! My wife and I enjoy working out in the sauna's, but there are two uncomfortable problems worth noting about this gym that some people may have a problem with. First of all most people sweat a lot including myself and unfortunately there are no showers at this location. Secondly, the aisle is too narrow and some may say it is inconvenient trying to manoeuvre around other members at the gym. I was able to deal with these inconveniences until the gym on Perkins was completed which was always the plan for my wife and I as it is closer to our residency. But to be fair, if you live in the neighbourhood nearby the Highland location and don't mind being sweating as you leave the gym you shouldn't have a problem with it. read more

I visited Hotworx for the 1st time Saturday. McKenna was extremely polite with a beautiful personality. She gave me a tour and explained each class and how the sessions worked and what benefits I'd receive by working in 125 degree heat classes..whewww...I was a bit nervous at first but omgggg I can honestly say I loved the pilates class, it was 30mins and I loved every second !! I sweat sooo much but it was worth it. Even though I have memberships with 2 other gyms, I'll definitely be joining Hotworx!! read more

So when I saw Hotworx and Infrared heat I was sold!! The staff is VERY knowledgeable and super friendly and answer any and every question that you may have. Everything from check-in to exit is easy and convenient. They have phone access entry or code entry for building security (in that it is open 24 hrs w Staff hours during the day). They also have a vending machine w Healthy Snack/ Protein Bar options AND Beverages w easy purchase via card, cash or even through your phone w pay app! The saunas are state-of-the-art w tv/sound system for virtual classes from 15-30 mins and there is also free weights/ TRX section for additional strengthening! LAST BUT NOT LEAST..IT'S AFFORDABLE!!! I thought that I would be paying over $100/mo and I pay less than $50/mo...ANDD no year contract!! So go try your FREE class and see the benefits for yourself!! I joined Hotworx after trying our first class for free. I was told I would be locked in for only 3 months then I could cancel whenever ***effective immediately***. I specifically remember the employee telling me this because I had asked about their cancellation policy before signing up (I know this because my mom generously pays for my workout memberships and made me ask before she agreed to pay). After going to Hotworx for some time, my doctor told me these gyms are misleading people into thinking they're actually going to see results, but in reality you're actually just losing water weight from sweating and not going to see much change. After hearing this and doing research, I decided to cancel and join another studio. When I called to cancel I was told I was going to have to pay $99 to cancel immediately. (????) Or the other option was for me to pay for 2 more months then it would cancel. (???) So basically you're locked in for 5 months which I was absolutely NOT told. When I went in to talk face-to-face rather than on the phone, I had the employee print out the exact contract I had apparently "signed" (see blank box in photos). The manager (I'm assuming) immediately saw this as a threat, although I genuinely just wanted to read it and see what I had signed. I had to ask multiple times to see this printed contract because I don't think they wanted to even give it to me - probably because I didn't actually sign it. I was just going to let it be if I had accidentally signed something that I was misinformed about or remember incorrectly because obviously that would be on me to read something before signing my name agreeing to it. After pointing out that I had not signed it, the manager was rude and aggressive towards me arguing about the policy that I had indeed not agreed to. I decided it wasn't worth wasting my time arguing with somebody so disrespectful towards me, and I left having to pay this corrupt company for 2 more months. After eventually saying oh well and agreeing to pay the 2 months to cancel, the manager decided to become an actress saying she would miss me so much, and she was sad that I had to cancel, Etc. All the sudden she was being so nice to me, obviously trying to leave a good last impression trying to make up for her awful and unacceptable behavior minutes before. SO beyond fake. Let me add that the nice girl working during this encounter apologized to me for the way the manager treated me, so I was reassured I wasn't being overly sensitive for the way she talked down to me. Don't waste your money because there's better studios in Baton Rouge - ones that make you actually work hard to sweat and burn calories and don't lie through their teeth. read more

Predatory cancellation practices override all positive aspects of HotWorx. When signing up in October I asked about cancelation policy and was told by representative Ashley 30-day notice in person was required to cancel. I came in to cancel in May, a few days after being charged the monthly fee, and was told I would be charged 2 more times to cancel or could pay 2 monthly fees right then. I did rely on the verbal communication when signing up. The workouts are good; the place is clean, and staff is pleasant. Booking time slots is easy but needs to be preplanned as most convenient times get taken fast. The company's matts are mandatory and pricey. read more

This whole company is just a money grab. You have to pay a fee on top of your first monthly fee when you join and not to mention their yoga mats and towel are $100 too, so if you want to do the classes where you have to have a mat and towel then you need to pay the extra $100 on top of your monthly fees because they won't let you bring in your own mat and towel. Oh and you also get charged $99 to cancel immediately or you have to get charged 2 extra months even though their contract is very misleading. Don't even waste your money on it. Read the contract very closely before agreeing to signing up for this place or else you will be stuck paying $99 to cancel your account. read more

Hotworz is a great idea but do not like the idea of sweating so much. You can always adjust the thermostat and step out of the rooms so you don't over exert yourself. First I want to say thatHotworx Studios are a great idea and very well run. For several months we enjoyed the workouts and I think they have a great product. The staff at the Riverton UT location are amazingly professional and very helpful and should be commended. However, some things have changed in our lives and the location we have been going to is not convenient. My initial thought was, we will take a break, and look into changing locations at some time down the road, as this is not a good time. However, when I went to cancel I was informed that we had a choice of 60 days' notice or paying $99 to cancel today. We were informed that we were made aware of this at sign-up. I do not doubt that they did their job and shared this however I missed it and I am very irritated that their company feels they need to use such financial tactics and traps to try and keep their memberships. I regret that as good as Hotworx is I can no longer recommend membership and will actively seek to discourage individuals from joining this financial trap, things happen in people's lives, things change and finances become difficult for people. What they are doing in my opinion is wrong. They should change their policies and allow people to walk away after their initial contract is up with no financial repercussions and perhaps even an incentive to come back. As is, their policy leaves a bad taste in someone's mouth and not only discourages them from coming back but they like me become an active opponent of their product instead of a promoter I/they would be. their product can stand on its own, they do not need these tactics and in the long run, these policies are actually hurting Hotworx. If they change their policies I would gladly endorse Hotworx again and likely sign-up down the road at a closer location that they recently opened. I truly enjoyed the workouts. Unless you feel confident that you are ready for a lifelong commitment or willing to loos at least $100 to leave I recommend you look for a different option read more
