It's really two shops in one, as half is devoted to DIY and hardware with the other side being a well-stocked pet shop. There is a huge range of products and it's a rare occasion when they haven't had the item I needed, or haven't been able to offer an alternative. Whether it's a watering can or a toy for your budgerigar, it's all here! The staff are lovely people, real local characters, and if you take your dog into the pet 'department' it will be spoiled rotten and will for ever after try to drag you into the shop if you are passing by!

Their hardware is better than the other supposed Hardware shop in town, and it is frequented by people from the trade, which is always reasuring. Going into this store is a bit like a step back in time but the owner is great and most helpful and stocks such a lot of useful things and all at a reasonable price. The shop is in town which is very useful if you are wanting to just pop in and get something while you are visiting other shops in town. If he doesn't have what you want he can order things for you. He is great for advice and tips to about what would be best to use for a project if you are a little stuck.
