I had a hard time deciding on giving 3 stars or 4. I had been suffering from neck tension and headaches for a very long time. Someone at work suggested I try House Family Chiropractic. I now have been going for about 4 months and have noticed a change. Although I do feel a difference in my neck and back, I am giving them a 3 star based on how they accept payments and the pushiness of their pre-payment plan arrangement and one particular staff that is quite aggressive with what you owe. They are NOT keen on letting you pay just the office co-pay at each visit. They feel making a payment (co-pay) every visit is wasting their time and my time because of entering the information, taking the payment, printing a receipt, etc. I find that odd. They want most of the money upfront and want you to sign paperwork that you will make XX amount of payments before you begin your treatment plan. In my case, my plan was going to be like $1,400 in total. They wanted like a $400 payment per month before they would work on me. I made several payments per visit (as in co-pays) and I was pulled aside and said it was not acceptable and that I needed to make a decision on what payment option I would need. (1 lump sum, monthly, or bi-monthly - those were the only choices.) They also suggested I have a 12 week (36 visits) treatment plan. Nothing less than that and they suggested I come 3x a week. If I couldn't fit in 3x a week in which happened occassionaly, they were also bugging me/reminding me I was short 1 day during the week and wanted to know when I was going to come in next - even though I was scheduled out like for a month. Anyways, to make a long story short, I had a balance towards the end of over $200 and was reminded at my visits what I owed -- not to mention getting a statement in the mail the day before. If you don't have a lot of money or your insurance only allows so many visits at the chiropractor -- this place may not be the place for you. I ONLY stayed with it because it was close to my work so I could go during my lunch and not have it eat up my PTO/sick time. I am thing HOUND Chiropractic is more like it because I felt they hounded constantly about money. Funny thing is though -- the more they reminded me about the money during my visits, the more stress I incurred- which made my adjustments harder on my body as I was all tensed up. They remind us that stress is a big factor in how our body feels. Odd. That was not consistent on their money-bugging policies. Dr. House, Dr. Therese very nice however. I cannot take that away from them and deserve 5 stars. read more
