I entered and was amazed with the amount of stock they carried in what seemed to be such a little store. I told the man, my grandson will be 10 and wants a guitar. I don't want to buy a "toy", but I also don't want to invest a large amount of money until I'm sure he wants to pursue this path. He led me to the perfect guitar for him, and it was reasonably priced. I'm very happy with the purchase and hope my grandson becomes the next Keith Urban! ;)

Decent selection of used stuff as well (was sad to NOT see the Ibanez lawsuit les paul rip off in there this last time, but hope that means it sold!). By far the best atmosphere of any music shop in town. Has a very "Chicago Music Exchange" vibe, with couches and chairs set up in classy little arrangements, wood floors, and bare brick walls. It definitely has the feel of a higher end boutique shop, which is cool. Contrast that with the fact that the staff is extremely unpretentious, affable, and inviting. Everytime I've been in there, the employees have repeatedly asked if I want to play anything (which... yes, I want to play everything). Short haired blond lady, small shaved head guy, and taller brown haired guy all just seem completely approachable and like they're as happy to talk shop as I am. Love the staff there. Overall, this is a shop that I hope sticks around. I will definitely be making the effort to abstain from the online giants in favor of supporting these guys.

I went in the store to "test drive" some guitars. It just so happened to be my birthday. I had a…read morepocket full of money and intentions to buy a Martin guitar, kinda like a birthday present for myself. I knew they were a Martin dealer from what I had read. I'm not from Evansville. We were visiting from Kentucky. I already own some Martins, but I wanted to add a D-18 to my collection. There was nobody in the store but me......and two employees, one older gentleman and a younger guy. I asked to play a D-18 hanging in the front room. The older man told me to take it in the acoustic room and play. I assumed it was acceptable to play any of the guitars in that room. I took the D-18 back to the front where it came from and hung it up. I went back to the acoustic room and played two other guitars. That's when the younger guy came in and basically told me to leave. His exact words were "I have to clean all these guitars after you play them and that one you're holding costs $7,000." He said it in a condescending tone, as if to say "there's no way you could afford that". I told him about one of the Martin guitars I own that is valued around $10k. I was hinting to him that I know how to handle expensive guitars. He said "Good for you", again with a smirky attitude. So I hung the guitar back on the wall and left the store. I will NEVER go back there and I wouldn't recommend it to anybody else. They have some nice guitars, but they treat it like a museum instead of a guitar store. The guitars are to "look at......but not touch". Again, I was the only customer in the whole store. It wouldn't have been that much trouble to come in the room with me, talk to me, ask me what I was looking for, offer to let me play some guitars. Instead, they just left it wide open....and then got mad when I played a couple of the guitars. It was a weird, unsettling experience. My advice.........STAY AWAY.

I had another local repair company quote the repair and they said the guitar was beyond repair and would never be playable. I wanted a second opinion and was able to find Mike locally. I reached out and sent pictures. He agreed to meet and we discussed what could be done for the budget available. He clearly articulated what he could do, and the exact cost for each line item of the repair. He had the guitar for 7 months and delivered for what we agreed on. I made a couple of change orders along the way and each time Mike clearly let me know verbally and then in writing what the cost would be. The finished product is unbelievable!! Not only is the guitar structurally sound and playable, but sounds amazing! Mike was a pleasure to deal with the entire process. I can't recommend him enough.
