I'd left a good review in the past and I really did have a good experience with USA Direct Auto (Houston Direct Auto) when purchasing my wife a vehicle. The process was really simple and easy. We applied for the vehicle online, sent paystubs, bank statement, and ID, and that was all they needed. I was kinda shocked when I decided that I would bypass my normal dealerships and purchase another vehicle from them but was denied because I wouldn't allow one of their 3rd party vendors access to my bank account. They claimed that it was their only way to verify my employment and income. I guess my paychecks didn't suffice. The kicker was when one of their employees responded that they had an outside lender that wanted $7,000 down, which is half the price of the truck. I'll never do business with this dealership again and wouldn't suggest that anyone else does either. Had to replace front two tires less than 3 weeks after purchase because of tread tearing off. Replaced all 4 brake pads and rotors less than a month after purchase. I tried to call them about the car once i understood this and I got a very nasty vague hispanic woman on the phone that would not transfer me to the manager. I went to Houston Direct Auto because they had a really good deal on a Nissan Titan, low miles, and platinum edition. Found the truck I saw online liked it and went through the process of financing it. The whole ordeal was sketchy and seems to be highly fraudulent or illegal possibly. They wanted to do bi-weekly payments with an auto draft out of my bank each time I was paid. My sales person Alfonso is a sneaky little shit, when asked to speak to his manager or the finance director directly he informed me they were going to tell me the same things and refused to allow me to speak to them. When I pushed the subject he just goes "I will have a manager call you back" and hung up. Since then I have not been able to get him or any manager on the phone. It seems like this place is a scam all the way around, while I was there on my initial visit a woman was there irate about damage done to her car by the service people, when one of the finance girls came out and began to egg her on and told her "go the parking lot bitch and lets see" this is the type of A-Plus class you are dealing with here. read more

Unfortunately I had to ask at least 10 people what dealer fees they charge and no one was able to give a clear number, " Idk how other dealers find that , but we don't know until after financing" which is bs because every dealer knows their own fees. I submitted my application and waited days for a response as to who had approved me. ( my credit is 755 and had been approved by Wells Fargo at least 2 months ago on my previous car ) after constantly contacting her , she wouldn't tell me who had approved me with is absurd. I wouldn't trust this place as far as I could throw them. Used car sites direct you to their small location near Westchase, but the big lot is in the 'hood on Little York, just off of Hardy Toll. Driving up to it, it basically looks like a glorified salvage yard, and I refuse to believe otherwise. My salesman didn't seem like a terrible *person*, but the whole business just felt crazy sketchy. And I could've done without the constant spitting...out the window during the test drive...in the lot during the showing...and in the trash can in his office... I've worked retail for a while, and everyone knows that the more salespeople talk, especially small talk, the more they're trying to distract you. NOTHING could distract from the rusted components under the hood, the mild rusting in the rims, and especially that musty, damp smell inside the $10,000 2014 Kia Soul. The vehicle has a CARFAX, but everyone knows by now that a CARFAX is only as good as the information that's reported. The vehicle came from Illinois, and I noticed a gap in the timeline between it being in Illinois from its initial sale in 2013 or 2014, to dead silence between early August 2021 and its arrival at Houston Direct Auto in October 2021... ...there was a flash flood in Illinois between that time, and this vehicle could've easily been in it. I scheduled an inspection while in the guy's office learning the $10,000 cash price versus the $13,000 finance price. Their financing minimum is $4,000, which makes sense because financing is how dealerships get their cut. But then there's this weird $500 thing that they arbitrarily add to their sales, and while it's no where near as bad as the "$3,000 for window tint and wheel locks, even though the vehicle already has both" that Gilman Honda North does, this is still really stupid. And I'm not about to pay $13,000 for rust. I ghosted on the dealership and the inspection. I know what I saw, and I know what I smelled. I was told by my local TXDMV that this company's LLC shows that they went out of business in March 2022 and they never processed the registration of the car they sold me. FRAUD ALERT - SEE PHOTOS AND READ REVIEW I was wanting to purchase a vehicle I found an trucar through this facility. I am a remote buyer in the state of Texas and this place offered free delivery state wide so I figured why not, trucar has been pretty solid as I have purchased 2 cars from using that app. I should also mention I have been in the dealership industry for almost 15 years now. This place is a giant red flag, and most likely a front for some sort of money laundering operation. All sales reps use google voice, not real numbers. You cannot be transferred to anyone because of this. When asking for someone they just say "they will call you in x amount of minutes" without asking who is calling, who the sales person is etc. I waited 6 hours for a response from my sales rep only to be met with excuse after excuse. Anyway, asking for a buyers order was like pulling teeth. As you can see in the photos, I was pre qualified through a lender for a certain amount, and planned on putting the rest down cash. The sales person was very brief saying that I can't use them because the age of the vehicle wouldn't allow me to get qualified etc. I reiterated I WAS pre qualified and had the voucher to prove it. This was ignored. So anyway I get the buyers order and wouldn't you know, they jacked the price up of the base purchase price, and were trying to rake me over the coals and rob me blind by using "in house" financing. What gets me is the unknown business name that is NOT Houston Direct Auto as the lien holder for the buyers order, the interest rate compared to what I qualified for thru Westlake, and the utter insult by adding fees. I do not trust this place and will not buy from them. Buyer beware! For clarification my credit score is about 760. UPDATE 08/15/22 I had ordered a pre purchase inspection through Lemon Squad and they let me know they could not perform the inspection on this car because the dealer was UNRESPONSIVE and UNCOOPERATIVE. If you need any more evidence that this places main goal is NOT to sell cars but to squeeze money out of folks who don't know any better. I left a review on Better Business Bureau, had an employee CJ call me about a week or so later pretend he was the General Manager saying he was going make things right guaranteeing me satisfaction- but first I had to remove the review on BBB, leave a 5 star review saying how Cj resolved our issues and send a screen shot so he could show his boss. I find out few days later CJ is a tech in service department , so there's bribing me with my review to fix what they know is wrong add that with bad customer service falsifying information- violating my consumer rights, misrepresentation, fraudulent advertising- claiming they are the best different from the rest providing quality service and cars for over 14 years! I wanna know where are these cars at? who gets that quality service? I sure as hell didn't. So I find out ((the more I search this business the more jaw dropping information I find)) my car 3 months prior to me buying it had been reported stolen, and recovered by police. Is that why the 12,500 miles difference what the ad said in April bragging to be lower than any other on the market at 115.000 ish miles but weeks later the odometer really says 127,000 miles- how tacky is it to deliver a car on empty, check engine, tire monitor sensor, brake pads screaming to be changed but that gorilla glued quick fix was my all time low gutter ghetto dealership classless move (I'm being sarcastic) (it's not my favorite) (the broken window switches or 4000 repair bill I paid days after is my favorite) and how about the gorilla glue used to keep my seat together, or the passenger front door that never opened but the salesman said he made a video before delivery and the door opened, he remembers clearly- ya ok so I never got the video did anyone actually see the video? Check out the alert and rating too on their business profile from better business bureau- you don't have to take my word for it, but you'll wish you did before buying a car from them. trust me you will need it. Don't forget to read the buyers guide and pull a car fax- don't let them do it, if it's anything like my signature on some of their documents- it's not real. I purchase two cars from Houston Direct Auto, the first was back in 2014, it was a buy here pay here agreement for 18 months, the car was paid off and I got the title, months later I purchase another car from them. The car was finance by a bank, after I did my first oil change, the car started to smoke, it was diagnosed with a valve stem seals which cost 5K to repair, they had put in stop smoke product to stop the smoke at the time of purchase and only started to smoke after the oil change was done (cars sold in Texas "AS IS" and I get that). I pulled my credit yesterday and found out they have listed the first car as being repossessed, I have filed a dispute with the credit agency's. Houston Direct Auto is not a reputable company to do business with. About a year ago, I received two checks for $10 each within two weeks apart, I was not sure why I got the checks, but now it lead me to believe this is a common practice of Houston Direct Auto and the checks I received was from a class action law suit. They repossessed my car unlawfully after I had been making regular payments, claiming that I had no auto insurance in place. I had bought the car a month ago and purchased the insurance while I was at the dealership - they wouldn't have let me take the car without insurance, right? I had no notice that there was anything wrong until my car disappeared from my apartment complex parking lot on a Thursday at 10 pm. I even called the police and filed a report because we thought it had been stolen. The next day (today), I called Houston Direct Auto and they claimed it was repossessed because I have no insurance. The lady on the phone said they called my insurance company on Wednesday and were told I do not have insurance in place. Within 48 hours, I had no car. They quoted me a "repo fee" of $499. I have a suspicion that their business was affected by Harvey and they're trying to make a buck through unlawful repossessions. Buyer (and owners!) beware! Update: just picked up my car after they admitted it was a mistake on their part to have it repossessed-they hired a new insurance lady who apparently has no idea what she's doing or the impact she has on people's lives. They use high-quality digital photos of new cars, not the actual car photo of the car you buying (SCAM) if you think about it. I tried working with them, but it obvious, they don't have it together. Informed me I they car i purchased was up to date on maintenance etc. When I test drove the car there was a little bit of swaying to the left. Salesman had the onsite mechanic to check it out i was assured the matter had been resolved. Upon driving home the car continued to sway. I took the car to my local Chevrolet dealership only to discover i needed a new battery, ac and engine air filter, four new tires, a oil change, and an alignment. It cost me an additional 1400.00 to correct this matter. When i call the office the sales person stated you still have a great car and refused to help with the additional costs that should've been completed before I purchased the car. I asked to be contacted by the supervisor and they have yet to return my call. I recently made a purchase with Houston Direct Auto on Thursday August 19th to be exact. After driving a couple of days I began to notice a very foul smell (rotten eggs) through out the vehicle. I had the vehicle detailed thinking that it may had been something on the inside. Sunday morning upon trying to start the vehicle, it was completely dead. I kept trying to start it and then after a couple of more tries I got very little kick from the battery. My fiance' then charged the battery enough to get it to a service center where we learned the battery had begun to leak sulphate gas which caused the bad odor and also as a result not being able to start the vehicle. I in turn had to pay for another battery plus the install and labor totaling $355 with only having the vehicle for 4 days. When I contacted the service Dept on Monday I was told to ask for Cj. I spoke to CJ and gave him a run down of what happened. CJ advised he would call me back in a couple of days. I waited patiently and called back on Wednesday. I spoke to Nicole (who was very helpful) and also advised her of what had taken place. She messaged the service manager to let them know of my issue. basically I was told that if I had no battery for them to physically see and test on their own I would not be able to get a refund for a battery that I to pay for after only having the newly purchased vehicle for only 4 days. The battery was hazardous and there was no way I would have been able to continue riding around with the battery to deliver it back to them to test. I told them I had pictures of the battery and the receipt showing proof of purchase along with the invoice indicating what was wrong. Still no refund! CJ told my fiancé it must have been from wear and tear. I literally had the vehicle and drove it for 4 days! I am very unhappy to say the least! I will not rest until this is resolved. When purchasing a car from this establishment, I would have it immediately looked at by a mechanic. They sold me a car with a battery that was so old it leaked onto my electronic control module. Also the transmission oil was mixing with the coolant causing the car to randomly stop. The car started to have issues immediately. Not even a year later, the car I purchased is unable to be driven. This place is an absolute joke! I visited their location about a vehicle of interest. My sales representative, Derek was very professional and accommodating. However, the organization (and I use that word loosely) is structured to take advantage of consumers. They have a "no haggle" policy which I really didn't have a problem with due to the asking price of the vehicle. The first issue developed when the title department questioned the documentation I presented based on the manner in which I wanted my vehicle titled. Granted I have over 30 years of automobile retail sales, management and ownership. I've done automobile transactions a few thousand times so I was very familiar with the process. After giving me such a difficult time, I requested to cancel the transaction and requested my money to be returned to me. They refuse to do so and that's when a gentleman approached me by the name of Amin. Amin identified himself as the owner and proceeded to personally handle my purchase. He later informed me that the title department staff was out sick and the persons that were there didn't really know what they were doing. The second issue came when I was driving the vehicle home immediately after the purchase and the battery light comes on. I called my sales representative at that time and he instructed me to contact CJ who was over the service department. I contacted CJ and shared with him the nature of my situation. CJ asked me to bring in my vehicle to a location which was not either of the Houston Direct Auto locations. I thought that was kind of odd but I followed instructions. When I arrived at that location (3702 Arc St., Houston, TX 77063) no one was there. At that time, I drove to the Jeanetta location of Houston Direct Auto and asked to speak with Amin. I was informed that he doesn't work at any location, he could only be reached by phone and no one could seem to locate him. So, in the dealership there was a sign posted with a number to management. I proceeded to call that number and after about 10 rings guess who answers the phone? CJ! CJ told me that he was the closest to management I was going to receive and he spoke with Amin and they were declining to repair my vehicle. So, with my battery light still on I drove straight to my regular mechanic and authorized him to repair my vehicle. While sitting in the waiting area of my mechanic CJ calls me back and shares with me that Amin did remember my situation and asked me to bring my vehicle back to his location. Well, by that time my vehicle had been repaired with an alternator at a cost of $741.25. The next day I called CJ to give them one last chance to do the right thing and reimburse me for the repair cost. He simply told me that he was instructed not to cover the cost from another repair facility. Please stay away from this place. With the current climate in this country and inflation at a 40-year all-time high, Houston Direct Auto is not a place you want to do business. They will not stand behind their vehicles even if you experience problems before you arrive home from their dealership. I WILL BE FILING A FORMAL COMPLAINT WITH THE ATTORNEY GENERAL'S OFFICE CONSUMER DIVISION AS WELL AS ALL OTHER REGULATORY AGENCIES. read more

Worst dealership ever. Highly don't recommend. They don't tell you your cars getting repossessed. They don't give you a grace period. They never even tell you your car is going to be repossessed and or email you or mail you anything about it. Their billing department sucks. You can never talk to the manager. They don't have office phones to transfer you over to anyone. They say you have to wait 24/48 hours for a response about getting your vehicle back even tho you have the money to pay for it. It's a scam. Just a fucking joke. Don't EVER use this company. read more

Horrible horrible place. They repossessed my vehicle for absolutely no reason. They admitted to the mistake but still wanted me to pay $2600 to retrieve it. They never answer and you will have to repair your vehicle. read more

DO NOT PURCHASE A VEHICLE HERE!!!!! I paid $19,958 for a Jeep Grand Cherokee Overland less than 2 weeks ago. Only been driven a few hundred miles. It is now at my local mechanic with a faulty air suspension compressor (left front air strut leaking down & the right air strut will also need replacement), both rear wheel bearings have massive damage (both need o be replaced, plus new brake pads). The power steering gear assembly is not working properly and also the oil pan gasket & left motor mount..... Houston Direct Auto thinks it's okay to sell people broken cars. Their mechanic supposedly looked my car over LOL. He must be blind.. DO NOT WASTE YOUR TIME HERE. THEY WILL SCREW YOU OVER!!! read more

Went in to get a car with a pre-approved offer from a lender that worked with this dealership. He took the offer letter to his, "finance guy," then the salesman came back and said the application from this lender was denied when they ran it at the dealership and this was a frequent issue with that lender(Westlake Financial). His resolution was that I could do in-house financing with an additional 4K down. I called the lender to see what the issue was and a lending specialist manager said THEY DIDNT EVEN RUN MY CREDIT. So he sent my offer AND the deal structure to the dealership so they knew I was approved, but the salesman said that he would, "talk to them later," and that the only thing they could do was offer in house financing. ALL OF THIS THIS WAS BEFORE EVEN TEST DRIVING THE CAR. Pretty shady. read more
