If you are in the area for work this is convenient hotel. It is in a great location because it is a nice walking distance of restaurants and shopping. This hotel used to be fantastic but it is now getting old and really showing it! I noticed they changed the hotel name as well. I stayed here 13 years ago. Parking: valet is with the hotel or the parking garage is walking distance away. Same parking garage as the businesses. You just need to Hal your stuff down the street to the hotel. Lobby: spacious and roomy and cozy. Employees are hit and miss for friendliness. M lounge: it is tucked away behind the restaurant behind double doors. It is quite pathetic but you can get some snacks, coffee if needed. Elevators: again showing their age with cracked floor tiles, doors that get stuck or slow to move Room: very nice mini suite. With huge bathroom, big living space with nice desk, sitting area with table. This allowed two of us to work side by side. The room had an air purifier system. Room has mini fridge and coffee station. The room had excellent sleep quality because it was empty and our room was not against the door, having long hallways helped with noise control. Bathroom: very large and spacious but on the dark side which applying makeup can be a challenge. Roomy shower.

Had an amazing stay here at the Marriott Sugarland! When I arrived I was told I was getting an upgrade ( I do have Ambassador status but it's never expected particularly on a work trip) but the room was spectacular. It opened to a large entrance and power room and a massive seating area with a huge curved sofa that would seat 30 people!! Off to the right was a dining area and wet bar and to the left another seating area, huge master and massive bathroom! For me the highlight was the beautiful soaking tub- I usually avoid hotel bathtubs at all costs but this was pristine and a bubble bath was a great start to the evening! Room service is great, really good breakfast with lots of healthy options and they have a Starbucks - with some of the best service of any Starbucks - attached to the hotel so o could grab my morning coffee before getting on the road! It made this business trip a whole lot better! Thank you Marriott !

    Host exstradinar. Thank you Chardae.

I had a strange experience with a mentally challenged visitor and Lenesha of the front desk, intervened professionally and deescalated what could have been ahorrible outcome. Also I found Chardae also of the front desk, very attentive and friendly and was able to have maintenance reset a battery for my room two eighteen door. Overall, the experience was satisfying, if not for the formentioned. Thank you ladies.

    Marriot Sugarland - wedding venue

Another Big fat Indian wedding at the beautiful venue, Marriot. While a large wedding party stayed in the hotel to ensure the early morning 7 am Baraat was held in time, we drove to the venue and the hall was just the right size to accommodate an intimate party of 300 guests. The ballroom served as the breakfast and lunch hall and it was huge. I heard only good things from the guests who did stayed at the hotel. So, to sum it up a great place to use for special events.

I was here for a fundraiser. This hotel is absolutely beautiful. The ballrooms are huge and regal. The architecture in the lobby area is intricate. The area was very clean. I visited the restroom and was pleased. It was cute and very clean. Everything about this hotel screamed royalty. It was simply beautiful. The staff at the front desk were very helpful and kind. The valet employees on the other hand; left a lot to be desired. There was a young woman and a young man at the valet desk. They couldn't answer any questions and didn't even attempt to try and assist with finding answers. They weren't rude; just not helpful at all. The conversation they were having with one another was more important in that moment. They may not need to be the ones interacting with customers. Maybe just let them drive cars. This hotel is right in the middle of a shopping area with lots of stores and restaurants; all within walking distance.

    Unfitted "fitted" sheet on bed

Definitely don't like writing reviews like this. Before staying here, I saw the mediocre reviews online & mediocre rating & didn't understand why (didn't investigate details of reviews). The location is fun & vibrant. The Marriott is traditionally a great brand. Well, not this one. The price does not justify the stay. I came for a conference, arriving at 1:30am, and leaving the same day, at 8:30am when the conference starts. Yes, I'm slightly annoyed I had to pay over $200 for 7hrs. But my other option was to get kicked out the hotel into 20degree weather, at 1:30am/middle of the night. My annoyance grew as I made my way to the room, in one of the most dilapidated elevators I've seen at such a reputable business. Once I got to my room & kicked the heat on, it cranked out a burning smell (which eventually went away). I pulled back the sheets to the tightly made bed (gold star for housekeeping there!), and the mattress was revealed as the fitted sheet is no longer fitted (stretched out & worn). Which makes me think major bed bug possibility. Not saying they have them, but this certainly doesn't help. Then I ventured into the bathroom, and it was more representative of a motel or lower grade hotel where you may pay $80/night. That's the kicker - as you get up into multiple $hundred dollar prices per night, you see the details. Especially when the Hotel "prides" itself on excellence. Excellent, Marriott Houston Sugar Land, is not. Absolutely suggest you choose another option in the area before here. Sorry folks...

We were here one night for a show and literally walked in after our show with McDonalds bc we didn't even know they had food. Well someone did and they charged it to our room. How? My only guess is they literally didn't care to ask for ANY verification. I called them immediately and the lady who I talked to was very disrespectful and trying to make it sound like it was us. Well she said that she would refund and look into it. Days later, I check my bank and sure enough, no refund. What horrible service and an even worse way to treat a customer. I called back as soon as I saw no refund had been processed and got a refund BUT with a balance of $0.06. What? Why do I owe for something I didn't purchase? Very friendly and went above and beyond when we simply asked for a good dinner recommendation nearby. She really took her time explaining and answering questions, in fact we had to end up breaking away as we were getting hungry. She even provided coupons for free goodies from our decided restaurant. Now the bad- The water temperature varies a bit, getting hotter and colder slightly without adjusting the knob. My last night here (I stayed a week) the hot water seemed to run out, my shower was room temperature at best. The gym is pretty pathetic. Very small, consisting of a couple treadmills and a bleak selection of free weights (ranging maybe from 2 to 8lbs max) scattered on the floor. I will say I do appreciate this brand implementing a peloton bike in each of their gyms pretty consistently. Also, I did find what appeared to be bloodstains on the desk and the lampshade on top of it. Pictures provided. Now, it could be nail polish or something similar. I'm praying it was. I'm deducting a single star for these reasons alone, I'd normally rate this way less because the blood stains are kind of a big deal. The rest of the stay was very pleasant, the staff were great. I couldn't bring myself to deduct more, you draw your own conclusions.

She also told me that the hotel i stayed at the night before could retroactively have points added to it if i called customer care. She asked if i had a preference on floor, or end of the building. It just was a lot of questions i'm not typically used to being asked about location. I told her i was hauling a trailer with an F250 and there wasn't really a place for me to park. So, i was currently in a placed parked emergency lane -- she told me that the truck that i parked next to was also in the same boat, and it would be a non-issue, she would let the manager know. I went to my room, and noticed a full keurig set up, plenty of towels, and a clean shower. Perfect, time to eat and pass out. My only regret is not getting her name, so i could call her out by name in this review.

The room was spacious and comfortable, with a kitchenette that included a fridge, microwave, sink, dishes, and glasses, plus a couch with ottoman and a comfortable king bed. One recommendation: try to get a room facing away from Highway 6 because those rooms are much quieter. Our room was on the backside of the hotel and had very little road noise. There were a few downsides during our stay. One of the two elevators was completely out of service the entire time, but there was never a sign posted on it, so guests kept pressing the button and waiting unnecessarily. It would be very helpful if management placed a maintenance sign on the elevator letting guests know it was temporarily closed. Also, the TV initially wasn't working and kept showing an error message, though maintenance later reset it after we notified the front desk.
