This location is perfectly located in Town Square. At first, after a quick sip of sweet tea or some water with lemons, you feel like this hotel is worth every penny. The service was fine, but it wasn't even as friendly or approachable as staff at less expensive Marriott's in other parts of the state. The gym was solid, but several machines were down, which led to me having to run outside. I'd also suggest maybe a water bubbler instead of small water bottles to reduce plastic waste? I'm not Big Green, but it's a bit wasteful. The pool and hot tub area were fine, but for. April open later at night, the lighting is very bad. I was by myself on the rooftop a little later, and when it got darker I just didn't feel safe. I didn't see cameras, it wasn't lit well, slip and falls could be easy, and with that isolation, what if someone got hurt out there later at night? The elevators on certain floors were hard to work - the buttons weren't triggering requests, and I am not a fan of pressing a button that creates an electric current too hard out of shock risk. At the end, one of co-workers who has never and cannot smoke or vape got a $500 charge for smoking. She uses iodine for health purposes, and that with the steam could easily trigger the smoke alert. I also get that it could be actual smoke, but then why is nobody calling the room or coming to the room to investigate or advise the person the alarm went off? Just the surprise charge at checkout that you hope people don't catch? And then they made it impossible to speak to anyone about the issue to get the charge reversed. She got passed around to 5 different people and had to wait for 2 people to get back to 1 of the 5 people over a course of days. The room had stained carpet, a lumpy stained vinyl couch, and an AC unit caked in lint that rattled so loud it woke me up every time it kicked on -- despite that, the room stayed humid enough that my towel was still wet 10 hours after showering. Walls are paper thin; you hear everything from next door and the hallway. Property-wide: ice machines broken, bar never staffed, no trash bags in any trash cans, hallways smelling musty, and pool water tracked through halls and elevators (which smell like a locker room). The small breakfast gets swarmed each morning, and not just by guests. Front desk staff were kind and offered to move me, but the replacement room was worse. Can't recommend as-is. Aging Marriott property that needs maintenance. Arrival: Arrived by car. Portico near the lobby provides covered parking/waiting while checking in. Check-in: Efficient process. Asked for a room upgrade based on status and received a slightly larger king room. Room (720): corner king room with all the usual equipment- desk, TV, mini-coffee maker, mini-refrigerator, etc. Room had vinyl plank flooring throughout but the floor was not properly cleaned. Bed: Decent king bed, decent linens Bathroom: shower only, barely adequate counter space, horrible lighting. Overall a poor bathroom that needs to be updated, esp the lighting. Overall room cleanliness: Below average, the floors needed cleaning Security: The elevators did not require room keys to access the guest room floors. If you are in the area for work this is convenient hotel. It is in a great location because it is a nice walking distance of restaurants and shopping. This hotel used to be fantastic but it is now getting old and really showing it! I noticed they changed the hotel name as well. I stayed here 13 years ago. Parking: valet is with the hotel or the parking garage is walking distance away. Same parking garage as the businesses. You just need to Hal your stuff down the street to the hotel. Lobby: spacious and roomy and cozy. Employees are hit and miss for friendliness. M lounge: it is tucked away behind the restaurant behind double doors. It is quite pathetic but you can get some snacks, coffee if needed. Elevators: again showing their age with cracked floor tiles, doors that get stuck or slow to move Room: very nice mini suite. With huge bathroom, big living space with nice desk, sitting area with table. This allowed two of us to work side by side. The room had an air purifier system. Room has mini fridge and coffee station. The room had excellent sleep quality because it was empty and our room was not against the door, having long hallways helped with noise control. Had an amazing stay here at the Marriott Sugarland! When I arrived I was told I was getting an upgrade ( I do have Ambassador status but it's never expected particularly on a work trip) but the room was spectacular. It opened to a large entrance and power room and a massive seating area with a huge curved sofa that would seat 30 people!! Off to the right was a dining area and wet bar and to the left another seating area, huge master and massive bathroom! For me the highlight was the beautiful soaking tub- I usually avoid hotel bathtubs at all costs but this was pristine and a bubble bath was a great start to the evening! Room service is great, really good breakfast with lots of healthy options and they have a Starbucks - with some of the best service of any Starbucks - attached to the hotel so o could grab my morning coffee before getting on the road! Pro: rooms are renovated with modern feel. Furnitures seem to be fairly new and well maintained Cons: - Concierge lounge is dismal if not the worst I've been to amongst the Marriott chain. As a lifetime Platinum member, I have had a lot of comparisons both in the US and overseas. - lounge is small and definitely shows signs of age and distress. Furniture were torn. Snack Offerings inside the lounge were very limited. Not even a decent coffee / cappuccino machine ( only 1 thermal pot of coffee, decaf and hot water respectively). I ended up staying at the Marriott twice within a week. The second time I was just there by myself for a night, and everything went well, so I will mostly just talk about the four nights my husband and I stayed. We arrived on a Sunday around 4:30pm. They do have valet parking, but we opted for the public garage which is a very very short walk to the hotel (probably a few minutes). The front desk had only one woman working at that time. I waited until she had checked in the two people in front of me. She was really nice and happy to answer any of my questions. There was always fruit infused water and sweet tea available in the lobby for free every day in the hotel lobby. We had booked an upper floor corner executive king City view room. We were on the eighth floor. The room was clean. I had requested all foam pillows but they had only feather pillows. Luckily I brought my own pillows because I am highly allergic to dust and feather pillows are bad for dust allergies. The room appeared clean. The bed was comfy, and there wasn't too much noise at all from the outside. The water pressure in the shower is mighty strong. This place has the strongest water pressure ever! The free wifi was a bit hit and miss. It was kinda slow. On our last day there, it stopped working. I called the front desk to let them know, but it never worked. When I stayed the second time in room 716, the WiFi kept dropping out, so I just gave up on it. It was also super slow. DirecTV is what the hotel uses. There aren't many channels, but the tv is set up for streaming if you'd rather do that. We never bothered though. The lounge was on the ground floor through the restaurant. It's a small room that was well stocked with sodas, small bottles of water, juice, and some quick snacks like M&Ms, trail mix, goldfish crackers, etc. After 5pm, there were quick fried food snacks, crackers, cheese cubes, and salsa and chips. There's no staff there except one night we went and a staff member was putting out some snacks. She asked for our room number. Another night, I saw a guest stand over the salsa and dipping his chip in it. That really grossed me out because germs. They did have some cookies in the lounge too one time I went. The lounge says complimentary continental breakfast in the lounge, but when we went one morning around 7am, there was nothing. We opted to eat in the restaurant. Breakfast is not free at this hotel. They have a buffet breakfast but it was $25 a person. I went for the French toast, and it was so so so good! Our server (I think her name was Luce or something like that) was so sweet! We had one issue where the toilet clogged up. My husband went to ask for a plunger and the man at the front desk said he would send housekeeping. We waited like half an hour before my husband just went out and bought a plunger. No one ever came with a plunger that night or the next morning. I tried ordering room service using their QR code, but when I would try to pay, it wouldn't work. I went down and told the front desk and they said sometimes it doesn't work but that I could order in the restaurant if I wanted. (Kinda defeats the purpose of room service.) Kennedy (I think that's her name) was super super friendly and sweet. I ordered the grilled chicken, veggies, roasted potatoes, and a fruit plate. Everything was just okay. It wasn't great, but it wasn't bad either. Check out was easy, and the young woman at check out was really nice. In fact, every member of staff we encountered was nice. Right in the heart of Sugarland town center, so there is a lot of activities and restaurants in walking distance. You'd have your choice of valet parking or self parking which is not to far from the hotel. I arrived on Saturday even, there was only not 1 person working behind the desk, there was a little line in checking in. The room was very clean when you walked in, the room was very hip looking, a nice view of the city center. There is also a bar downstairs if you want to grab a bite or a drink. There are plenty of banquet rooms for events. During checking it was quick, there was more than one front desk attendant. When checking in there is a $50 deposit doe incidental that you get back when you check out. read more

The bar has anemic hours and when open the staff has all the execution of someone at your local VFW when making a drink. The spirit offering is underwhelming and ridiculously overpriced as well. I mean $21 for a knob creek old fashioned? A whole gawd damn bottle of knob is $25 at your local liquor store. I get wine, oxidation happens much faster but high proof bottom shelf spirits at that kind of mark up? This experience has left a horrible taste in my mouth as I had an engagement at 5 pm and my ducking room wasn't ready until 4:45 pm and it was half assed cleaned. I've carried a Marriott loyalty membership for over 20 years. In my years as a traveling executive I averaged 70-90 nights a year at Marriott properties. I know what good hospitality looks like--this was the opposite. My wife and I booked the Marriott Sugar Land for Easter weekend. Early Easter morning we were startled awake at 6 AM by Sugar Land police pounding on the door across the hall, responding to a domestic violence call. Unsettling, but not entirely within the hotel's control. What happened next, however, was entirely within their control, and inexcusable. After checkout I received an email notifying me that $500 had been charged to my card because an in-room detection device allegedly flagged smoking or vaping. No one called. No one knocked on our door to ask. No investigation of any kind. Just a unilateral $500 charge delivered by email, an email that could easily have landed in spam. Let me be clear: my wife and I have never smoked or vaped in our lives, not in that room or anywhere else. When I contacted front desk supervisor Karya Scott, who had sent the notification, she was completely indifferent. No apology, no willingness to review the situation, nothing. Future guests should know these in-room sensors are not foolproof, and when they produce a false reading, this hotel's approach is to charge first and never ask questions. That's not a hospitality policy--that's a revenue grab. After two decades and hundreds of nights with Marriott, I won't be returning to this location and am seriously reconsidering the brand entirely. read more

We booked a hotel for a staycation since we had credit card points to use. Notably, the customer service here was extremely lacking, there were no toiletry amenities in our hotel room, streaming services in our room was hit or miss (at least YouTube worked), and the noise level from Bar Louie and the marathon below made it very difficult to sleep (we were on the sixth floor facing SL City Hall). Otherwise, we had a clean, spacious hotel room and hardwood floors. My car was part of a multi-car arson that occurred the night between 7/11/25 and 7/12/25. When I walked out to find my car on 7/12, I discovered it gone as it had already been impounded into police evidence, along with other affected vehicles. It was parked in the hotel's self-parking spaces of the City Walk Parking Garage when it was burned. The hotel comped a room for my inconvenience, and was very considerate about the situation. However, to all who plan on staying here, beware of leaving your car in a garage owned by the city, which makes it difficult to sue the owner of the garage for loss or damages. read more

Another Big fat Indian wedding at the beautiful venue, Marriot. While a large wedding party stayed in the hotel to ensure the early morning 7 am Baraat was held in time, we drove to the venue and the hall was just the right size to accommodate an intimate party of 300 guests. The ballroom served as the breakfast and lunch hall and it was huge. I heard only good things from the guests who did stayed at the hotel. We booked weeks in advance. Because this was the area we wanted to be in. Got to the hotel. Beautiful area.... But we were told they were over booked for the night on a Wednesday. (sounds like this is a common thing with this hotel) and they would have to move us to a Springhill suites (which was a big downgrade). Springhill suites only had double beds when we had originally booked a King and was not a great hotel. We had to cancel and book ourselves 30 minutes away, 40 minutes away from our event the next day, which took 2 hours to switch hotels. Not only was this time consuming but cost us a lot more than just time. There was no advance notice and no talk about comping the difference of the quality of the hotel. So who knows what kind of fight we will be in to get our money back. We were told at both the hotels we went to after that this is a common thing that happens to people who book the Marriott Sugar Land. Extremely poor customer service. We will not be back and I suggest you book elsewhere. read more

I was here for a fundraiser. This hotel is absolutely beautiful. The ballrooms are huge and regal. The architecture in the lobby area is intricate. The area was very clean. I visited the restroom and was pleased. It was cute and very clean. Everything about this hotel screamed royalty. It was simply beautiful. The staff at the front desk were very helpful and kind. The valet employees on the other hand; left a lot to be desired. There was a young woman and a young man at the valet desk. They couldn't answer any questions and didn't even attempt to try and assist with finding answers. They weren't rude; just not helpful at all. The conversation they were having with one another was more important in that moment. They may not need to be the ones interacting with customers. Maybe just let them drive cars. This hotel is right in the middle of a shopping area with lots of stores and restaurants; all within walking distance. read more

The staff was very unhelpful and did not offer to try to resolve it, but said I should come back the next day which would've required me to leave my meetings and show up after 12 noon and see if anybody had checked out. They also did not refund the difference in the price between the city rooms. The interstate side rooms are terrible. The interstate is very loud. Definitely don't like writing reviews like this. Before staying here, I saw the mediocre reviews online & mediocre rating & didn't understand why (didn't investigate details of reviews). The location is fun & vibrant. The Marriott is traditionally a great brand. Well, not this one. The price does not justify the stay. I came for a conference, arriving at 1:30am, and leaving the same day, at 8:30am when the conference starts. Yes, I'm slightly annoyed I had to pay over $200 for 7hrs. But my other option was to get kicked out the hotel into 20degree weather, at 1:30am/middle of the night. My annoyance grew as I made my way to the room, in one of the most dilapidated elevators I've seen at such a reputable business. Once I got to my room & kicked the heat on, it cranked out a burning smell (which eventually went away). I pulled back the sheets to the tightly made bed (gold star for housekeeping there!), and the mattress was revealed as the fitted sheet is no longer fitted (stretched out & worn). Which makes me think major bed bug possibility. Not saying they have them, but this certainly doesn't help. Then I ventured into the bathroom, and it was more representative of a motel or lower grade hotel where you may pay $80/night. That's the kicker - as you get up into multiple $hundred dollar prices per night, you see the details. Especially when the Hotel "prides" itself on excellence. Excellent, Marriott Houston Sugar Land, is not. Absolutely suggest you choose another option in the area before here. Sorry folks... read more

If you pay the list price it can be more like two or three stars because there are some issues with it and it's just not worth the money. A lot of money. Customer service was horrible. When arrived there was no luggage carts available. I ask the valet if they could me get the heavy bags upstairs. They said I could either wait for Carr to be available or just sit it on the ground and make multiple trips upstairs.There Was no hand soap in the bathroom. I ask the concierge for a trash bag cause I like to clean behind myself. She made a disgusting look and said why do I need trash bag. Like I was about to steal towels or something. When I explain I like to clean up behind myself she said I'll just send house keeping. House keeping gave me two plastic laundry bags to put my trash in. Then it was check out time . None of the elevators work. Which meant I had to carry all my stuff down 4 levels in multiple trips. I stop at the front and said my check out is at noon but I have to get the rest of my stuff. She smiled at me and said well you have 30 minutes to check out before we charge a late check out. No one offer to help me get my items down stairs. This was the worse experience ever. read more

We had a great stay at the Marriott Town Square. It's located at Hwy 6 and the Southwest Freeway in Sugar Land. There's a multistoried parking garage about a block away that is free and street parking is free on the weekends. The hotel has valet parking for an additional fee. The room was clean and tidy. I had gone online to request several items like extra pillows, etc., however they were not in the room. As a suggestion, reiterate your requests at the front desk when you check in. I did the check in online but you still have to go by the front desk for them to scan your credit card. There are no ice machines on the floors. You need to stop by the front desk to pick up a bag of ice or call to have one delivered. One of the wonderful things about this hotel is it's location. There are numerous upscaled bars, retail stores and eateries within walking distance of the hotel. Sugar Land is a beautiful residential suburb of Houston and there are a ton of restaurants in the the Sugar Land/Galleria area. I can definitely recommend staying at this hotel! read more

I give this place a hard 3.25 star rating. I just can't give it anymore. Let me explain. First, I have to say that the guest services and front desk staff are by far the best staff in terms of communication, friendliness, and attentiveness that I have found in the Houston area. They were nice enough to give me a late check out as well as smile every time I asked them for a favor. Another really amazing thing is that there is a legitimate Starbucks in the building. Not a Hotel Cafe that "proudly serves Starbucks", but an ACTUAL Starbucks. fancy. Also another really good thing is they do maid service during your stay. When I came into my room after being at work all day, I noticed my bed was made and my towels were replenished. This is something that I had forgotten about during the pandemic but it's quite nice. Unfortunately though, there were 2 major issues, one was the fact that the water pressure was horrible. I spoke to my colleague who stay in a different room who confirmed that his water pressure was terrible as well. We spoke to the front desk about it and they said thank you for letting us know but I have a feeling like this has been an ongoing problem for sometime. The second was is there only ONE elevator working during my stay. There was no explanation as to why the other two were off but very clearly as demonstrated by the line of 7-8 people to get onto the elevator, the other two were clearly not working. Everything seemed clean. other than the two major issues listed above, everything was great. Make your own decision as far as how bad the water pressure and elevator situation are. For me they are a dealbreaker. For you they might not be, and if not this place is for you. read more

One of my best Marriott stays ever! Located within the middle of the Sugar Land Townsquare area, this Marriott was updated, clean, and featured the amenities that you would expect (gyms on certain floors, outdoor pool with hot tub). In addition, the concierge lounges (for certain Marriott Member points status) featured breakfast, Starbucks coffee, snacks, & an overall quiet area to relax in. Probably the biggest advantage of this hotel lies in its proximity to everything. It is across the street from the town square, which usually has concerts and other events. The surrounding area of the hotel is easily within walking distance to the mall, as well as other hip venues such as RouxPour, The Flying Saucer, Jupiter Cafe, and yes, a full-service Starbucks. Valet parking is $23 per day, and recommended. The valet sends you a link via text in order for you to retrieve your car at anytime. Otherwise, self-parking (about 1.5 blocks away) is available at no cost. There is a breakfast buffet available that is really good, and at a decent price of $18 per person. The lobby alone is also large enough to relax with your laptop & hold impromptu business meetings, etc. Excellent customer service at the front desk, great service with the valets & bellman. Marriott Town Square, why can't you be like this everywhere? Will definitely be back when in Sugar Land. read more

What an incredible stay! I came home for the holidays with my boyfriend and wanted something conveniently located, so this was an obvious choice. The hotel is in a great location - very close proximity to bars, restaurants, and shopping in the Sugar Land Town Center. The service from check-in to check-out was top notch. I wish I remembered the names of everyone I interacted with, but no one was short of amazing from the front desk to the housekeepers. The room was spacious, clean, and cozy! Special shoutout to Queenie, who really personalized our experience prior to arrival, and even made sure her staff knew who I was when I checked in. You can tell that her and the team take pride is making sure every traveler is well taken care of when they visit. As a frequent Marriott traveler, I was not impressed at all by the customer service or the facilities. I stayed here last minute after a fight with the hubs and decided to staycation my mothers day here. Bakers street downstairs for brunch and mimosas by the rooftop pool was what the doc ordered...except it all went to crap fast. I called ahead of time to ask about how to book using my points/voucher because it was after midnight and using the app had my reservation for the next day. She told me to come in and checkin there. When I got there, she said she couldn't do it and that I'd have to call the customer care line. Given that it was 2am by this point, I planned to call in the morning. When reserving a room, I asked for a room overlooking the pool. I told her why I was there. Come to find out, I woke up to look at a drained pool and a green hot tub. Thanks a lot for giving me a heads up and giving me a chance to save my staycation plans. (Sarcasm) Also, I was a little grossed out to find what look like old blood stains on the sheets when I got to my room... To fix my reservation, I called first thing before checkout. I was on hold for 16 minutes before a man answered and said that a supervisor would have to help me. I sat on hold for another 17 minutes and Dae answered. At this point I took the stairs down to not lose the call and had gotten ready to check out while on hold (a total of 49 minutes). Dae said she couldn't help and that it's up to the property. She had spoken to Selene. So I get down and talk to Selene...pretty frustrated by this time. And then find Stephanie, the lady who checked me in failing to mention the pool issues and incorrectly advising me to call customer service. Neither of them were helpful and had to grab Carmen. Carmen assured me that she would take care of everything, that she would apply my vouchers and that she would email me a resolution. Well...that was 5 hours ago. No email. No call. And a full price room charge to my bank account. So...this is the perk of being an elite member huh? EXTREMELY disappointed. read more

I have hosted an event (as part of a non-profit organization) and stayed at this hotel on several occasions over the past two two years -- I LOVE THIS HOTEL! The management, sales team, and staff are courteous, professional, generous, and attentive. The rooms we have stayed in always overlook the city square, yet we never seem to have an issue with outside noise. The beds are comfortable (firm but soft) and we have ample pillows (5 at our last stay). The 8th floor Concierge room is always generously stocked and neat. The ballroom can accomodate upwards of 400 guests, I believe, and in my humble opinion, beautiful and more modern than many traditional hotels. I love this space. read more

I love the Marriott hotels, this one lives up to the standards. The front desk staff is extremely helpful and nice. I was constantly asked if I needed anything and my requests where met with a smile and the staff was friendly. I would love to stay at this location again. The hotel food is good- the cheesecake and bread pudding are to die for. The catering is great as well- the chicken meal is quite tasty. The hotel offers a gym with cardio and weight training equipment. The only reason this review isn't 5 stars is because the week of my stay the pool was closed. The location is perfect. There are many options to go have a drink and to go eat that are at a walking distance. I can't wait to go back!!!!! read more

I stayed here while visiting Texas for the first time. I was so thrilled that I picked this hotel! The hotel is close to so many restaurants, stores and a huge park area. It's great because there was a ton of things that were walking distance. Best part was having a Starbucks downstairs. The rooms were clean and spacious. I was glad to get a good view from our room. I was able to view the town square. The customer service was also great. We were able to extend our stay without being given a difficult time. I really appreciated the kindness and the hospitality that was received. If I visit again I'll be stay here again! read more

I would not recommend for anyone to stay at the Marriott sugarland if you want good customer service. The front desk and manager were horrible and very rude. Be aware there is construction going on in this hotel on many floors and possibly can wake you up, if you are sleeping in to 8 am. Also be aware if their is any electrical issues within the city the hotel will not take responsibility and the only floor with a back up generator is the 1 st floor, but not all lights. The bathrooms were completely dark within the stalls. Our rooms were so warm it was hard for me to breathe and I expressed that to the manager. He basically said it the city issue not ours. Staff directed me down a service stair case that was super creepy when the elevators were not working that landed me on the side street, where I had to walk around to talk to someone about a public stair case. read more

Everybody was SO kind! They mention you by name, they're very attentive. Unfortunately, we came at the end of this awful pandemic. That being said, on a normal day, it's a BEAUTIFUL venue. The grand staircase and event rooms would make such a beautiful wedding! The hospitality definitely didn't fall short here. read more

The worst hotel ever the downstairs looks great and is welcoming but once you get into the room you get a uncomfortable spring bed and moisture on your feet from the floor and the AC in the room is non existent what so ever it doesn't work and if you have asthma like me you won't be able to breathe the water pressure is terrible as well the room was so terrible I didn't even stay in it I left after 1 hour and when I asked for a refund the lady didn't wanna give it to me and kept saying I have to call my boss so I just decided to leave don't do it please don't stay here guys. read more
