I went to Dr Kang because my old pain management Dr had retired. I had not received pain meds for 2 months but due to not taking them everyday I still had some. He cares about his patients and explains every step in the process answering every question. Dr. Kang treated us like people and never made us feel like a one-size-fits-all diagnosis/treatment. 6 years ago I was in the worst pain imaginable and lived my life miserably and I had been bed written for years not being able to walk or live a normal life due to me being diagnosed with degenerative disc disease I also have some disc bulging and some of my disc are bone on bone and arthritis I was referred to Dr.Kang by my primary physician. All I have to say is Dr.Kang has given me my life back‼ My pain is managed by medication and by injections through a surgical procedure. My condition unfortunately has no cure but at least I'm able to walk again. I highly recommend Dr.Kang with a 10 + star review. Dr.Kang is very caring about my condition. He takes the time and listens to what I have to say and puts it into action! Not like other Doctors " Take a aspirin and call me in the morning" My parents suffered of back pain for many many decades (rip) I only wish they were both alive today to experience the miracle of being pain free. Oh! And the girls in the office have THE BEST BEDSIDE MANNERS EVER!! They make you feel at home Very friendly and kind Office area and examine rooms are clean and in order. Oh! I'm an ICU nurse now disabled due to 2 botched hip surgeries requiring 2 reconstructive surgeries. As a result I have numerous disc herniations, arthritis, and scoliosis and am in constant and debilitating pain. I moved here from Florida where a wonderful doctor treated me with compassion and respect and my treatment plan consisted of injections and pain medicine. This doctor questioned why I tested positive for opioids if my last prescription was filled 2 months ago. I said I anticipated it would be difficult to find another prescribing physician since moving here so I purposely took less each day to make them last a little longer. He was suggesting I was acquiring them illegally and it made me very upset. He was unwilling to prescribe anything close to what my previous doctor had controlled my pain with and I could not get in for an injection for over a month. Because I have severe back pain I have difficulty going from sitting to standing then walking quickly and his comments about my "unsteady gait" suggested he felt I was over medicated. I could not hold back the tears as he spoke condescendingly to me. I have never experienced such a non-compassionate physician in my life. read more

Dr. Kang has little interest in treating a person for pain. He is more interested in checking your urine and bloodwork to pleasurably withhold desperately needed pain relief. He borderlines sadist. I would not recommend him to someone that has chronic back pain. read more

Best doctor! He has been my pain management doctor for 10 years. Don't believe negative reviews. Dr. Kang is kind and caring. He saved my life after a terrible back surgery. He got me off heavy medication and on a program that allows me to work full time pain free for 8 years now. read more

Since Dr.Kang and his new office staff began there, the patients well being is over looked. I had been going to the clinic for 4yrs, only to be given the run around when my meds needed to be refilled. The office staff does not know the meaning of urgency. I called for my refill"opiates" on a Weds, I take them 3 times a day. I did not have my prescription for 6days had horrible withdrawals that ended up with me being hospitalized while at the ER. I then recieved a phone call after I recieved my meds. Telling me they are discharging me due to way I spoke to them. I never used any profanity, yes I was upset because I was getting sick. The clinic put me on the high dosage of opiates I did not ask for them. They can't just say you will get them when you them for these meds. That was worst experience of my life, feeling like you wanted to die. I have consulted with an attorney and I am filing malpratice suit and discrimination against the doctor. I also filed a complaint to the state board. They wouldn't even allow me to talk to him regarding the discharge all the office mgmt said there is nothing I can say to reverse the decision of the discharge, so speaking to Dr.Kang was not necessary. He really needs to reevaluate his office manager before she has his license pulled. All of this could have been avoided if I could have spoken to the doctor. I come from a family of ER physicians and they told me Dr.Kang knows the seriousness of stopping opiates without alternative treatment, he put my life in danger. Dr Kang is probably the very worst doctor I have ever heard of and I am a Nurse Practitioner and have been around a lot of doctors. My elderly parents went to see him, seeking help for my 85 year old father and he treated them with such disrespect. My father is very active for his age and has avoided back surgery for many years with the use of a low-dose pain patch. Prescribing laws recently changed, forcing him to switch providers. The regimen he has been on 7 years has enabled him to have a wonderful active high quality of life. Dr Kang was arrogantly refusing to listen to them and forcing a procedure which my parents both explained raises my father's blood pressure to a dangerous level. Dr Kang's response was "you go to the ER then". What good doctor would deliberately choose to do a procedure on an 85 year old that might risk him needing to go to the ER? He ultimately had a passive aggressive tantrum and told my parents they should find another doctor. I'm thoroughly disgusted. We are trained to listen to our patients and not fix something that isn't broken. Dr Kang needs to go back to kindergarten to learn how to be kind and how to treat the elderly. There is enough strife in this world to receive such harshness from a doctor who is supposed to help. I wouldn't send my worst enemy to Dr Kang. read more

I would only give 1 star (if any) but for some reason, it won't allow me to. Firstly, Dr. Kang has the absolute worst, if any, bedside manner! While searching for a reputable, highly recommended physician, their bedside manner is not the major concern. The quality of their care, knowledge, experience, etc., takes priority. Dr. Kang does not take the time nor show much concern regarding a patient's current, overall health. Specifically, when a patient tries to address their current concerns & symptoms, he is constantly interrupting you. You cannot discuss anything with him, without him becoming very defensive and sarcastic! Less than 7 days post-op, the patient continued to have some rather alarming/unusual concerns. At that time, when calling Dr. Kang's office, it took 2 days for the nurse to return the call. However, on his staff's behalf, they were professional and very cordial. As an inpatient, Dr. Kang "flies" by the patient's family/friend in the waiting area, spouting off the results of the procedure. You have no idea what he is saying as he talks so fast and is already moving on to the next patient. While working in medicine for over 30+ years, working many years with two world-renown surgeons, I have never seen a doctor treat a patient or family member in this manner. Finally, I hope, in the future, Dr. Kang will be able to show more compassion to his patients. read more

If you're looking for pills move along. Dr Kang has a direct approach to pain management which is at the nerve root. He is meticulous clinically and produces positive responses to his injections. He has helped me with back pain issues, I couldn't be happier or more thankful for him. read more

Dr Kang is the rudest uncaring physician I have ever encountered in my life. He doesn't let you speak and when you do he's rude and condescending. If he can't book you for an injection in a week - he will literally turn around and tell you to go somewhere else. He will tell you can't follow his plan and will not hear that you have already had steroid injections and maxed out on getting any more. He doesn't care that it's dangerous to ones health. If you take anxiety medication he will tell you that you have to stop taking them - even when prescribing a non narcotic pain medication. He , in my opinion is just out to make money off of injections and if you have any other chronic pain conditions besides your back where he can give you a ESI - you are going to the wrong place. He is a pompous ass ! They have no parking for the disabled in the garage except for one on the first floor of garage. Otherwise you have to walk down stairs to enter the building. When I walked into the front office the reception area look very unkept, the front receptionist and all the nurses were running around like chickens with their heads cut off there was no focal point on a patient actually coming into the office. The receptionist and nurses are all very nice they just need to stay focused on what they're doing and finish one task at a time. We are waiting to see the doctor right now. Well done with appointment, when the doctor was done he did not say anything, he had his head in his computer and went to his next appointment , my mom has high blood pressure medications changed and a few other medications changed need to give it time to make sure everything is going good with these drugs, all he really wanted to do was give injections to help control pain. This would be under light sedation of giving the injections, I did not feel comfortable at this time with a light sedative / sedation. Hey doctor give things time, make sure a patient is truly healthy enough to go through injections when the pain is not a 10 on the pain scale. read more

If you have a complex case and/or your case involves disability, I would avoid Dr. Kang. Dr. Kang and his staff have trouble when you try to provide them with a lot of information, and the notes taken by his staff contain errors which can cause difficulties when it comes to disability cases. read more
