My waits have been minimal, online appointments and walk-ins have been a breeze, and the facility is clean and well maintained. Even the parking is abundant and rarely full. The front desk staff is professional and friendly. They've been especially good about follow up appointments, prescriptions filings, and even recommendations. The interaction is mostly minimal, which is a sign of their efficiency, which I appreciate. The only part where it can get dicey is that like any medical office, one may or may not see a doctor. There have been times where I've been feeling under the weather and a nurse / PA will see me, when I was really hoping for a doctor. That being said, Dr. Dino is my favorite. Bonus points if one is already a part of the Memorial Hermann system since results and prescribed meds are available post-visit almost immediately.

I came to OnPoint, expecting to receive a few minutes of basic assistance and was stunned when the clerk conferred with the medical staff and informed me that re-wrapping is "not something they get involved with." When I said that I found it hard to believe they would prefer I go home and attempt this myself rather than offer minimal help, I received only a shrug. Since I can't drive myself -- it is my right ankle that is broken -- I had to arrange to be be taken to AFC Urgent Care on Weslayan, where the staff took a few moments to assess my situation and re-wrapped the loosened area without hesitation. They even invited me to return if the wrap should come loose again before my follow-up appointment. I understand urgent care facilities have limitations, but refusing to spend five minutes assisting a patient with a serious fracture -- particularly one who cannot simply drive herself elsewhere -- reflects poorly on this practice. I won't be returning and wouldn't recommend OnPoint to anyone in a vulnerable sitution.

We were tested and prescribed prophylaxis as recommended by CDC which checked the box for standards of care as well. Healthcare treatment is a choice and as an Registered Nurse myself working over 40 plus years in critical care and ED sometimes your experience is far less than desired or standards of care. Today as a family we were lucky to choose Rice Emergency Room. We are from out of town just blindly walked in but if I lived in Houston Rice ED would be my first choice for care. Dennis took care of the EKG, and another nurse did the bloodwork. Finally, a CT Scan was done by Tiffany. All steps were accomplished smoothly, and everyone was very kind and responsible. I expected compassion and basic medical care, but instead I left feeling humiliated, ignored, and unsafe. Although the doctor briefly spoke with me, no physical exam of any kind was performed. When I asked for assistance to the restroom because I was struggling to walk, one of the nurses simply pointed down the hall and didn't accompany me. I nearly collapsed while trying to get back out of the bathroom and was screaming in pain, yet that same nurse rolled her eyes and walked over slowly before finally helping me into a wheelchair. It was clear she did not care and found me to be an inconvenience. Another nurse, Sonny, was also incredibly rude and lacked compassion entirely. She seemed annoyed by my questions and at one point even said, "Well what do you want me to do about it?" I understand it was a holiday and the staff may not have wanted to be there -- but I certainly didn't want to be there either. I was in a medical crisis and deserved to be treated with basic empathy, not dismissal. The only person who provided quality care was a nurse named Mohammad, who was kind, attentive, and treated me like a human being. I am genuinely grateful for him. Unfortunately, the actions of the rest of the staff overshadowed everything else. I felt vulnerable, helpless, and disbelieved throughout the experience. This clinic made me feel like my pain didn't matter and like I was a burden for needing help. I would not recommend this clinic to anyone, and I believe this location is a disgrace to the Houston Methodist brand. No patient should ever be treated the way I was treated.
