Pizza here is the best in the world. Literally! My brother took his friend's from Yale University in Connecticut here a while back and they thought the pizza was the best they ever had. Their first experience with ham and pineapple! As kids we would order in pizza from all the local Greek restaraunts who had a similar recipe. Turns out they were all brothers and cousins. Their kids are making their mark in the community to this day! That pizza left a permenant beautiful memory in my flavour palate! Houston was a favourite and when the Hill ave location opened it became my go-to location. The pizza is always thick, full of toppings and cheese. The best thing ever for breakfast, the day after ordering it in. Their dry ribs and sautéed mushrooms are meals unto themselves! So good! The pasta as good, if not better than any you'll ever have, unless you're Italian or Greek, then your grandmother gets top shelf there! love the dine-in atmosphere. Extremely comfortable inside. They make the best pizzas in the world!!! No other pizzeria compares to Houston especially this location. Yes, I grew up eating their pizzas but they have always been the best I have eaten. I haven't found anything that compares to their Greek style pizzas. I am one of the individuals that will purchase a whole pizza and fly it back to my home. My favorite is Hawaiian but their All dress Pizza is loaded with delicious goodies. I am shocked that it has yet to be featured on You gotta eat here! They also make the best Greek salad ever. I picked up a Pizza this evening from Hill Ave. Houston Pizza. When I got home and dug into it, I found that there was hardly any sauce on it. It really tasted like a 'dry pizza'. These guys are usually my 'go-to' for pizza, but tonight I was really disappointed. I thought I'd call them to express my disappointment and give them a heads up that they dropped the ball on this order. The response I got was pretty much..."who cares?" I wasn't looking for a freebie, or a complimentary pie in the future, I was really just trying to let them know that I wasn't a happy customer. I didn't get an apology, or even a "thanks for letting us know". The guy on the other end of the line seemed completely disinterested in my complaint. Needless to say, Houston won't be the first place I think of for my next pizza. Very disappointed in the pie and the follow-up phone conversation. read more

Yet another greek style pizza in regina. They love to load there pizza up with toppings because of this the pizza can get a little on the the greasy side and costs quite a lot. The main reason this isn't a 4 is because the sauce is quite bland and does very little to add sweetness to the pizza. I usually order peperonni at most pizza places but always order ham and pineapple from houstons to try and makeup for the lackluster sauce. The crust is fantastic and is probably my favorite of all the greek style crusts in the city. read more

I'm a pizza fanatic. Upon moving to Canada initially, I combed the "Western Canada" chowhound boards for various food recommendations and came across a post regarding a craving for "Regina Pizza." I found this to be peculiar, as Regina is a town of about 200,000 in the middle of nowhere - not exactly a place you'd expect to create a foodstuff that someone would eventually crave. But this Regina Pizza continued to haunt my mind for years. And of course, I seized the opportunity to enjoy a Regina Pizza when visiting. Based on another Chowhound thread, I decided to try an All Dressed Pizza at this location. This pizza consists of cheese on top of a whole stack of lunch meats on top of a pillowy crust of medium thickness, the outside of which was well oiled and flavoured with parmesan cheese (I think). This pizza is baked in a 1/2 inch tall pan, but only the outside crust is that thick. The interior crusts are thinned out by the abundance of toppings. And while I would gladly take a great New York or Chicago Pizza over this, I greatly enjoyed this Regina Pizza. The sauce was well spiced and the dough had a nice bounce. I think that the "All Dressing" goes a bit overboard. If there were a location of Houston Pizza near my home in Edmonton, I would gladly order from there, but I can't say that this pizza is worth any sort of special pilgrimage. But I could imagine craving this if were the pizza I grew up with. read more

Saskatchewan pizza is a strange culinary hybrid. An all dressed pizza has several inches of toppings on it -- the only way you could get more under the cheese is to drape a pot roast with mozzarella. It's been many years since I've eaten Houston's Pizza, but it does retain a certain 1000-calorie-a-slice charm in my memory. The greek souvlaki and salads are fairly good. Ordered delivery. The order taker was a little dazed and confused when I asked about delivering to my hotel. After having me on hold for a few minutes, she figured it out. Honestly, I was 'this close' to hanging up but thought I'd stick with it. (In my life, I've hung up on delivery places that couldn't figure out how to play with hotel deliveries). Got the all dressed pizza and a pound of buffalo wings. LOADS of toppings. It's a must try! I wonder how they make money on it? Wings were a little dry. Next time I'll ask for extra sauce. My family always went here when driving through on road trips to the mountains. It was always a bit of solace in the middle of the Prairies, which are always (in my opinion, having grown up in Winnipeg and Calgary) the most boring part of any trip. This was always a highlight in the driving, and the Regina-style pizza is something that's really unique. I've never found a decent facsimile. Delicious, and more topping than you know what to do with. Worth a visit if in the Regina area. read more

Really great pizza. Delivery normally doesn't take too long. Always gets our order right. When they say Real Good Food, they're not kidding.

Best lunch deal in town. Always a great meal and value. My favourite is the souvlaki special with rice and salad. $10.99!! Includes soup!

So first of all I'm giving one star because you can't give no stars. I ordered a delivery order it took over an hour to get here. Once I got here the food was cold and tasted so old and really disappointing. I spoke with the manager and he seemed clueless as to how to correct the situation. I think some of these reviews are misleading. The pizza was disappointing. Flavourless crust and bland sauce. I travel all over Western Canada and make it a mission to find the best pizza in every town I pass through. Houston at the Hill location was a waste of time. I also ordered one from Western Pizza on 9th that same day and Western by far was the better pie. Great sauce, nice flavorful crust and good quality cheese. Hate to say its gone way downhill of late. The Hill Ave location was once the revered mecca of the "Regina-style" pizza for several decades - pies piled high with premium meats like savoury smoked back bacon and real spicy pepperoni, heaped with flavourful high quality low-moisture-content mozza. Recent visits to this location however have been consistently disappointing. The all-dressed pizza I ordered used mostly an identified unappealing mystery luncheonoid mystery meat as filler, and had a low grade translucent industrial "white cheese" goo on the top, almost poured-on. The pizza has to be overcooked to the point of burning to give it any flavour at all. A secret for you = they now routinely overcook their pizza to AMP up the low grade cheese by HEAVILY browning it - you;'ll notice in the food-porn pizza photos the cheese is very thin and cooked VERY dark. Not the golden brown of yesteryear. Still very expensive pizza of course. Have also had recent bad experiences with their "caesar" salad (iceburg lettuce with a wisp of dressing, no bacon bits) and what they call "lasagna" - 99% noodle with a watery red sauce. For shame Houstons - you're f%#^king with your reputation here. Smarten up, bring back the quality ingredients and dial back the greed. read more
