I hired Houston Roofing and Construction to install a full roof four years ago. The roof itself does not leak, but I can't say more than that. I will not be using them again. During the installation, they caused severe damage to my front yard, including destroying a rare and expensive Japanese maple tree. Their method of "protecting" plants was just throwing a tarp over them, which did nothing to shield them from falling shingles and tools. A three-story ladder fell on my shrubs, damaging several, and worse -- it also fell onto my brand-new AC unit, bending the top grill. Since then, the ventilator has been rotating only millimeters away from the edge on one side, at risk of scraping. On top of that, there were permit issues. It took multiple emails and calls from me -- both to the company and the permit office -- to get it straightened out. They tried to tell me that "approval of the drawings" was the same as having the permit approved, which was not true. The confusion dragged out the inspection process unnecessarily. They never offered to fix or compensate for any of the damage. Based on this experience, I cannot recommend them. read more

Houston Roofing came out today to inspect my roof after last week's horrible storm. Dustin Stahmer, the project manager, found no issues but pointed out some recommended preventative work - for next year. He was courteous and professional, so they're on my calendar for next summer. Cannot speak to their roofing work, but do NOT recommend for general contracting work. We paid Blake (Project manager) and his team $6,000 to install drains in our backyard. When the drains were completed, they were above the dirt level making it impossible for water to reach the drain. Blake and his team told us that there is nothing that they could do to lower the drains because of the angling of the outlet. A few months later, we hired another professional to fix their work and they were able to lower the drains to the appropriate level without a problem. We informed Houston Roofing & Construction and received no refund - they offered a credit for future work, but we did not need their services anymore. read more

My decision to go with Houston Roofing & Construction was based on the presentation of material (i.e. certificate of insurance) and my conversations with Robert Morgan (Project Manager) about the scope of work. Houston Roofing and Construction put a new roof on my house, DO NOT have them use a company to put up your gutters. The gutter company put up gutters over rotten woods. My painter pointed it out to me. Now Houston Roofing insist I have to pay for the gutters to be taken down and put back up so the rotten wood can be replaced. WOW! They would not give me the name of the gutter company so I could deal with them directly. I have already given them almost $20,000. A very important lesson to learn. I had a bullet come through my home but we could not locate where it came in at. We called Houston Roofing & Construction to come out and check the roof to see if the entry point was there. Upon arriving Mr. Krejci handed me his card and asked could he come in. He began in the house. He checked a few rooms, the attic and then moved outside. We found the bullet entry point on the siding of the house. Although no repairs are needed to the roof I wanted to do this review to show appreciation to the company for being on time, reliable, and assisting us find the entry point. Mr. Krejci was friendly and professional. This company also offers free estimates which is a plus for anyone unsure of damages or costs. read more

This company did a work for us in 2013 and paid a good amount of money for it and now that I requested for them to come out and give us an estimate on the same roof repair they didn't showed up yesterday as Nathan the owner and I agreed on. He said they got there at the house and no one was there and that they called me. I did not received a phone call nor a voice mail and not only that you can not get into the house subdivision without passing security and they would call the house to let them in. Now, I called to see why they didn't showed up and Dave called me back and left me a very rude voicemail saying that I should look for another company because they will not help. Wow!!! Really?! Please DO NOT take a chance with this company. After I heard the message I called him back and he hung up the phone on me. I was not even arguing just trying to understand why so unprofessional. I contacted this company and dealt with Dave. I had a leak in my roof due to the hail storm in April. Along with a leaky roof there of course if ceiling damage/carpet damage. I asked for a quote, Dave came to my house and was late for our first appt. (I had to call him and ask if he was still coming) - to where he advised he was. When he showed up he never inspected my roof. Once he found out the insurance company was paying me for the damages he stated, he didn't need to look at the roof. He took a copy of the insurance adjusters estimates and stated he would contact me. He advised their company did remodeling was equipped to handle the entire job. Dave stated he would have someone come look at my carpet as it had begun to mold and the insurance company put clean instead of replace. That person never showed up. I called Dave to see why and he said - the guy said it would be replaced because of the condition, but that was the whole point of making the appt. for him to see the carpet?? (No Show) - about another week went by. Dave H. set up another appt. to talk about payment/deposit and the invoicing quote for the job. He advised me to endorse my insurance check over to Houston Roofing and they would get it cashed. I did not do this. I am not handing over an entire check to anyone who hasn't even started a job, inspected my roof or sent anyone to look at my carpets/wall damage. He later asked for a $3000.00 deposit which I was not comfortable with either. That was more than half of the full payment. Another week went by. I contacted the office and asked about the invoices (I hadn't received yet and was told they would be sent) - another week went by. My job should have started the first week. Still no one had shown up. I got frustrated called and was told my roofing had been ordered and my job would start asap. I told Dave I'd give a deposit (but had no intentions of giving them $3000). Dave told me he could pick it up, but I told him I would drop it by their offices the next morning. We agreed upon the next morning he stated they opened at 8:30am. When I got to the West Little York office at 9:20am. The doors were locked. There was a dog with a bed in a side room, but laying by the window. Looking through the windows, the office looked empty for the most part. I called their number on the building and a lady answered. I asked if she worked at the office (which looks like a warehouse), she said yes. I told her I was outside she then stated she was at a different location. (strange). I knocked, no answer, so I left. I sent Dave a text to advise I had shown up at the office and he said he was there. I advised no one answered and a few minutes later he responded to my text that he was coming from Houston Hobby airport and would stop by to pick up the deposit. He never showed up. I texted to see why and finally had to tell him I was leery about giving this company my money. Something just didn't feel right. To where he advised me to find a new contractor it wasn't going to work. I just felt like this entire company was a scam. What kind of business is this? DO NOT DEAL WITH THESE PEOPLE. I am not making this up. Any company can post a review about their company themselves. I am willing to send anyone the text message conversations so you can see them for yourself - (I uploaded my text message photos) - almost a month of this company not showing up. I hired Houston Roofing to fix a problem with water leaks in my upstairs master bathroom, guest bathroom, and laundry room, which are rooms with vents. Houston Roofing has come out to fix this twice before, but, unfortunately, I am continuing to experience leaks which are ruining the drywall and paint. Houston Roofing is refusing to come out a third time to fix their unacceptable work. I believe that they are incapable of identifying the source of the water leaks and incapable of fixing the water leaks, which have occurred in the exact same areas. I am going to have to hire another contractor to fix what Houston Roofing could not. I would not recommend Houston Roofing as the owner, Nathan Braly, does not stand behind his work and his warranties are worthless. Pissed off customer. Was this review ...? Houston roofing and construction by far offered a level of knowledge that none of the other five roofing companies that I spoke to offered. I worked with project manager Ryan. He came out and spent time evaluating my roof and speaking with me about all my options. Houston Roofing and Construction was the only company that was concerned about maximizing my ventilation system. Ryan immediately noticed that my particular roofing system was not sufficient for my house.He pointed out that my house didn't have many ridges, to support the Ridge Vent Ventilation System. He suggested that I go with a turbine system that would maximum my ventilation system that would in return help extend the life of my roof. Ultimately I opted to file an insurance claim which is quite a lengthy process. Ryan offered to come out when the insurance inspector came out to evaluate my roof. He helped me throughout the process and made sure I understood all the roofing terminology. He was an invaluable resource through the entire process. Houston Roofing company is a great choice if you are looking for a superior level of knowledge and service. As a single woman that owns her first home, I greatly appreciated the level of service and care I received. All my questions and concerns were answered throughly and promptly. read more

I used them because they did a great job at my neighbors house and all reviews were positive. My roof looks great and Justin, our rep was very professional and easy to communicate with. He keeps you informed and communicated the process. It only took a total of 2 days including clean up to replace the roof. Everyone in the company is very nice and I've since recommended them to others and my neighbor app website. We had a small hiccup and Justin worked to fix the problem through no fault of his and wanted to make sure we were happy, he is first class. The company responded to my call e. a suspected roof leak the same day. The representative, Dustin Stahmer, conducted a thorough inspection of the room showing evidence of the leak, the attic and the roof. By that evening, the Friday before labor day, I had a proposal for a repair package which was completed the following Wednesday. I just recently bought my first home and wanted to get an inspection for our roof. Ryan came out to inspect the roof and explained everything that needed repairs, either as soon as possible or in the near future. He answered every question I had and I felt assured that I had chosen a great company to work with! A few days later, the repairs were made quickly and look great. HRC replaced our roof after Hurricane Harvey in the fall of 2017. I was actually pleased with the work and the appearance of our new roof. It looks quite nice. However, there was other work to be done that was authorized by my insurance company, including replacing a screen cover on the pergola over my patio. After an understandable waiting period to get the material, the screen was replaced. However, a couple of months later, after we moved back into our house, we noticed that while the screen had been replaced, the workers had walked on the hollow aluminum structure, crimping beams and damaging the structure. I made them first aware of this in January 2018. From January to July I made 10 phone calls to try to resolve the problem. Finally in August, I made contact with the owner. In September and October, I was told they were still looking for materials (now one year since the job was finished). In May 2019, I sent another email which has still not been answered. If the materials can't be found, then it would have been nice to at least have received some compensation as I will have to replace the pergola; instead, I continue to be left in the dark with no resolution. I think the thing that has frustrated me the most is that while the roof was being replaced I got constant phone calls and texts to make arrangements to meet to get the insurance check to them as soon as possible. I even drove out 30 miles one time to meet their representative to try to help accommodate them. It would have been nice if their concern for correcting the problems they created, and communicating with me about them, would have shared the same level of intensity and promptness as their desire for getting their money. read more

We spent $20,000 on a new roof of premium shingles 4 years ago. Houston Roofing improperly nailed the shingles and the nails are rusting. We've had the roof repaired 4 times. They repaired the roof the first time. However they wouldn't return our call after that. Do not use this company. read more
