Disappointing Experience with Canady Heating & Air…read more I am very disappointed with my experience. I was given an appointment for July 20th and rearranged my entire day to be available. While I understand that HVAC companies become extremely busy during periods of extreme heat, communication and respect for a customer's time are still essential. By approximately 1145hrs, I had not received any updates, so I reached out using the text number I was provided. I did receive a response around 1200hrs and it came from a different number simply stating that I was still on the schedule and technicians would be working until 2000hrs. The issue isn't just the long service window it's the lack of meaningful communication. By 1700hrs, I still had no estimated arrival time. If a technician were to call at 1900hrs and arrive close to 2000, it raises a legitimate question: would there really be enough time to properly inspect, diagnose, and discuss a complex HVAC issue? A thorough evaluation shouldn't feel rushed at the end of a long workday. If a company is overbooked, it's better to be honest with customers and reschedule rather than ask someone to reserve an entire day with little or no communication. Customers have jobs, families, and other responsibilities, and their time deserves the same respect as the company's schedule. I chose Canady Heating & Air because they came highly recommended, so this experience was especially disappointing. Based on my experience, I cannot recommend them. Better communication, realistic scheduling, and greater respect for customers' time would go a long way toward improving the overall service experience. Update: Immediately after this review, I received a text from the first number 1722hrs stating: "***** Canady's Heating, Air, and Plumbing: You are currently our technician's next appointment. You will receive text updates and a call or text when the technician is in route to your home. Please call the office with questions 912-756-6688 or text YES to confirm. During the inspection, the thermostat was set to 72 degrees, but the system was reading 66 degrees. The inspector stated that the unit appeared to be stuck in AC mode and advised that it was an ongoing issue, not something that would suddenly occur overnight. The sellers arranged for their HVAC company to come out, and their technician reported that there was nothing wrong with the system. Based on that information, we proceeded with closing. Two days after closing, we noticed the same issue again--the thermostat was set to 74 degrees, but the system was reading 68 degrees. We contacted the same HVAC company. When I called, the receptionist was extremely rude and dismissive. She stated that all technicians were busy and they would come out "whenever they could." I calmly explained that we were home all day and simply needed the system checked due to inaccurate readings. A technician arrived on February 2nd around 1:00 PM and immediately identified the problem: a valve was sticking in AC mode, causing inaccurate temperature readings. The total repair cost was $1,095. This confirmed exactly what our home inspector had originally found. The technician even stated that this was not a new issue and had developed over time. I called the company back to explain that their first technician missed the problem, despite it being clearly identified by both the inspector and their second technician. When I asked to speak to a supervisor, the receptionist stated there was no supervisor available. I also addressed her rude behavior from the previous call. She dismissed my concerns, blamed the sellers, and refused to take any accountability--even though the sellers had done their part by hiring this company. When I informed her that this matter may need to be escalated to a lawyer for documentation purposes, I asked for her name. She responded defensively, stated she had worked there for 26 years, and said she "wasn't going anywhere." I clarified that I only needed her name for documentation. She then hung up on me and sent subsequent calls straight to voicemail. This company needs to seriously reevaluate who they place as the first point of contact for customers. The receptionist was unprofessional, rude, dismissive, and unwilling to help resolve an issue that resulted from their own technician failing to properly diagnose the problem. Poor customer service like this reflects badly on the entire company

HIRE SOMEONE ELSE…read more I had a technician from Gibson/Lovell come out for a basic service, and it was one of the most unprofessional encounters I've had with any home service provider. The technician was unpleasant and aggressive. To make matters worse, they quoted us an extremely inflated price for the service (more than double what we ultimately paid another reputable company to complete the exact same job). That alone raises serious concerns about price gouging or outright scamming. When I contacted the company to address the technician's behavior and the charge, they brushed it off as a "misunderstanding," which felt like a way to discredit our very real and unacceptable experience. I paid their $100 fee just to close the door on this awful interaction, but I wouldn't trust them in my home again, nor would I recommend them to anyone else. Avoid at all costs. There are better, more honest companies out there.
