During my visit, not all of the featured rosés were available to taste, and the sample pours were just a couple drops. If the sample pour were similar to what I've experienced in other wine shops, I believe it could've provided a fuller experience to select a wine. When I arrived, the person working there (possibly the owner) was super helpful. I told him I was planning to have crab cakes for dinner and wanted a wine that would pair well. He wasn't pushy at all--just kind, informative, and easy to talk to. What I appreciated most was the relaxed atmosphere. I felt comfortable taking my time and browsing, and they had a great selection of wines. I ended up choosing a Sauvignon Blanc from France--and honestly, I had never tasted a wine that good before! It was such a pleasant surprise to find a place like this: welcoming and focused on quality. I'll definitely be coming back next time if I'm in the area.

Recently pressed by my friends to drop by for happy hour (not usually my thing), I have discovered a much needed alternative to the usual tired, old bar scene ("familiarity breeds contempt" goes the admittedly old, tired saying!). But I digress. Anyhow, you see some new faces and old--and some loud people to jolt you out of your revery (if you "like" that kind of thing). Again, I am losing track--oh yes, I asked for a red blend (turned out to be of Greek origin) and the bartender gave me a freebie as there was not enough to me top off--the glass, I mean. Hard not to appreciate the milk of human kindness on this cold, drizzly February night. Even sharing some tired, old cliches land softer after "a few"! So, cheers, you crazy people! Spirits of Mt.
