The castle itself is historic with some insanely horrific history to it. I'm not going to say much more it's a great experience. The castle does all different types of events throughout the year, they're most popular is the haunt during Halloween season or throughout October. I went one year it was pretty amazing. My family has gone a few times and loved it. Look forward to this year!! Get your tickets quick because it sells out fast.

We took the van to the castle but they don't drop you off directly in front of the castle so you still have to walk down through security and then to the castle. Porte potty's are available right before security and once you walk up the hill to wait in line to enter the castle. There were a couple food trucks when we went, we were expecting a few based on what was said online but not sure if it depends on the time. We waited over an hour in line to enter the haunted house and if you do really believe in ghosts this place is pretty haunted. The event itself wasn't scary, the actors aren't able to touch you but there's obviously loud screaming and they may be a bit too close for comfort to get a reaction out of you. You do have to climb up and down quite a few stairs and then there's a second part lead outside and back in the castle (barely any lighting and it's a dirt road so you have to carefully walk). Many strobing lights as well so do avoid if you are triggered by that. The energy throughout the castle was not pleasant or welcoming, I was very excited for it to be over as the haunted house itself was not very good and I was mostly tired from all the walking. There's a merch truck outside at the end of the castle as well. We also decided to walk back instead of waiting for the shuttle but there absolutely no lighting and many ditches with uneven flooring so you have to be very careful. Overall experience was not my favorite and I wouldn't come back again.

We even came on a windy day, and it was still a wonderful place to be. It is so spacious that it's the perfect spot to fly kites. A few of us were flying kites together, and it was such a relaxing, heartwarming experience. It's incredibly family and dog friendly, super roomy, and has so much going on. Because it's so clean and well maintained, this might just become the park I bring my kids to most often, and it is definitely a top choice for hosting future family events! It is perfect for a workout, sports activities, or just letting the kids play. I love the layout, especially how they designed the two separate grass areas where one sits at a lower elevation, while the other is level with the rest of the park. But honestly, what really blew me away was the restroom. I know that sounds like an exaggeration, but I'm serious! So many park restrooms are cold, dark, dirty, and lacking privacy. This one felt downright luxurious. It is completely temperature controlled, which was especially nice since it was breezy outside! It was warm, well lit, exceptionally clean, and had absolutely no odor. It even sounded like it had a great ventilation system running. The only minor downside was the lack of toilet seat covers, but that's an easy fix. The entire park feels pretty new with a beautiful, modern design, conveniently located right behind the Sky River Casino. Highly recommend checking it out! Rate: 10/10

There are pickle ball courts and clean large bathrooms which is a must for little kids. The water spouts come in the summer and kids can play all day here. CSD keeps the park nice and clean with everything well maintained. The best part is they have an annual 4th of July viewing at this park where the community comes out in lawn chairs and just hangs out. This is one of the great parks in Elk Grove.

We also love seeing the many animals and wildlife around the campground, which adds to the experience. Having showers available and water access at the campsite is very convenient and appreciated. While we continue to enjoy staying here, there are a few areas that could be improved. It would be helpful if staff were more responsive when guests call for assistance during their stay. The restroom doors could use repairs, and the restrooms would benefit from more frequent cleaning and maintenance. Better guidance for visitors when locating their campsites would also make the check-in process smoother, especially for first-time guests. Overall, this is a beautiful and enjoyable campground with great potential. With a few improvements in customer service and facility maintenance, it could provide an even better experience for all visitors.

I used to come here every year, but after this trip, we'll never be back. Don't try to sneak alcohol, they do check and they will walk around your campsite every 10 mins. The rangers constantly patrol campsites and frequently show up unannounced, making it hard to enjoy your stay. We were kicked out of our campsite because they found a beer on our table. (Yes, we were aware no alcohol, but cmon we're camping)! Then we were told to be out by 8:00 AM the next morning. We were already packed up and actively loading our vehicle when a ranger approached us at 8:01 AM and immediately accused us of trespassing. Instead of handling the situation professionally, he told us to "hurry up and pack your stuff, and get the fuck out" and stop "lollygagging." We were literally in the process of leaving. These american rangers were on a power trip, super entitled, thinking they're above the law and talking to us like we were animals, if not worse. So in other words, they must really love their jobs, or they're unhappy with their lives. The entire experience felt unnecessarily hostile and aggressive. Being nice will go a long way. We were super nice and respectful and didn't argue back. Wish we got the same energy back. There are plenty of other campgrounds where visitors are treated with respect.
