Over the years, Howard and his son Nathan Reed, have helped me buy guns, ammo, diamonds, jewelry, repair jewelry, etc. They are always polite, truthful and aren't trying to make a killing on the sale, of whatever you are buying! They remember you by name, and greet you when you walk into their store. They are open 6 days a week! Howard has special ordered several expensive diamond rings for my wife to wear. The Quality is excellent and the price is always reasonable! They also take trade ins, of whatever you might want to trade with them. They buy your Old Gold or Silver Jewelry, and at a Fair Price. I never feel like I was taken advantage of. They can usually bargain a little on the price, so I feel like I got the Best Price I could on my purchase! I have gone to Academy Sports and purchased a 9 mm pistol, on Sale, thinking I got the Best Deal! Then I go into Howard's Gun and Pawn and tell Nathan the Deal I got. Then he tells me he could have saved me at least $25, on the same pistol he has on his shelf! So, you need to check with Howard's, before you make your next Gun Purchase. His prices are reasonable. They have a large selection of handguns here. I came and traded when the stock was really low due to Newtown incident, but They had exactly what I wanted. A Kahr CM40. They traded my glock 27 for the brand new Kahr and I am very pleased. I guess if I am every in the market for another gun I would definately go again. In the interest of being thorough I have to say the place needs some updating. It seemed a bit like a cave in there, but I guess it doesn't really matter. I love Howard's Pawn. They have a very professional and friendly staff. It is a family environment and every employe does their best to assist and make everyone feel welcomed. I have never had them to ask me for money up front for money to complete a background check for purchasing a firearm and I have purchased many from them. Sometimes, it may be a delay in the GBI system for background checks but never longer than one day (with mines), either way that is out of their control. COVID has slowed up a lot of things also. Went there to buy gun. Drove 60 miles. Got there, gun was used, not new. Oh, sorry ' bout that. Decided to get it anyway. Background check system went down. "Sorry Sir, you'll have to come back after our system is up. We'll hold the gun in the back. That will be $20.00 for the background check". I said I'd pay for background check when check came back, one way or the other. Fast forward 6 days- Sir, your background check came back ok. We can sell you a gun now. I said ok, you still have the Ruger we agreed on? Uh, sorry sir, we done sold that one. Needless to say, Howard's probably won't be getting much of my business. read more
