A play area for kids on one side, a lot of food to pick from and the it is very spacious. There is room to walk and sit even if it's a little crowded. We love visiting Hozak Farm every fall! It is off the beaten path and has something for everyone in the family. What is great is that you pay for the activities you do with many free activities. There are goats to feed, a small maze, bikes, hay bales and other play areas for the kids. For a small fee there is face painting and pony rides. The "haunted" hayride is $4 per person and a nice long ride. My 5 year old finds it a bit too spooky but I think it is suitable for most ages. They have a country store and a number of food vendors. We loved the pumpkin rolls and apple butter! Don't forget to take a free short hayride to the pumpkin patch amongst the pine trees. They have pumpkins of every shape and size that you pay for by the weight. read more

We have literally traipsed all over for a great cut your own tree experience since having children. That means over 20years of looking. At the recommendation of a colleague, we went on the Friday after Thanksgiving for the best experience yet! Don't be turned off by the long lines because this farm moves people efficiently from lot to field! Tractors were running non-stop! There was just enough time to grab a complimentary hand saw and kneeling pad. We waited in line for less than 10 minutes to get to the field despite 30 people being in front of us in line. I'm picky with my trees and prefer Frazier Firs. Hozak's had the largest selection of Frazier firs I've seen in the field. They shape their trees so nicely that there was not an ugly tree out there! Tree Dollie's were provided to get the tree from where we cut it back to the tractor pick-up location. They shook and bailed the tree. We were in and out in an hour even though there were over 100 people there at the same time we were. Just a heads up, they provide the twine but you are responsible for tying your tree to your car! I've been here nearly every year for the fall festival but this was my first time cutting down my own tree. They had a wonderful selection with average prices. They will shake and bale it for you as well, which is fun to watch and included in the cost of your tree. My only complaint was the lack of direction. No one really knew where we were supposed to go or where to get supplies. We had to get tidbits from each worker before we figured it out which was rough as it was cold and we basically just had to keep walking back and forth. But in the end, I got a gorgeous tree at a reasonable price and getting to choose it ourselves was romantic and fun. We look forward to doing it every year from here on out! read more

An absolutely great place to get your Christmas Tree! The whole family went and we were all delighted with the experience. We went to the Christmas Barn and selected 2 precut trees and they are beautiful. The quality and selection is superb and you can tell that the trees are very fresh. Wide variety of heights and widths along with species. Don't miss the shop within the Barn for a really great and unique selection of ornaments and decorations. Even though is was SUPER busy (it was the day after Thanksgiving) we were fortunate to meet two of the Hozak family members and they were very helpful and kind with guiding us on tree selection and suggestions on care to extend the life through the Holidays. Hozack Farm has been a Christmas Tradition of ours since 2003. Today we went and the Frazier Furs were great, I found one in record time. Afterwards, my youngest wanted to ride the hayride. My oldest wanted to sit in the car. My husband took care of the tree - getting it shaken and roped. Somehow while my youngest and I were on the hayride my oldest and husband locked the keys in our car. In disbelief, I asked the parking attendant if he had anything to help. He said he'd speak to the owner....About 15 mini later the owner came up on a 4x4 and laughed and said, "call AAA." Not even to us. He had no idea we were in earshot to witness his unpleasant reaction. No one came to tell us they had nothing to help. It wasn't cold, but it wasn't warm. My daughters and I walked down to the actual barn to get the free warm chocolate and over priced hot dogs. We were on their property for over 4 hours. No one ever inquired if someone was coming. No one offered my husband a warm drink. While my girls and I were walking along the twisty, narrow road, to the barn a Hozack neighbor offered us a ride to the barn. He gave us the most Christmas magic. I don't anticipate we'll be returning next year. While beautifully grown trees are their specialty, compassion and customer service sure aren't in full bloom. read more

Life is all about experiences. Hozak's is a great place to go to CYO (cut your own) Xmas Tree. Take the kids, take your parents, take your grandparents. Fun to get on the trailer behind the tractor, go to the field, debut and debut and debut which tree is the best, cut it down and take it home to decorate. Great pine scent in the house. It does get crowded on weekends so go early. They will help you tie it to the roof of your car if you need help. Great group of kids helping out. There is a barn with free hot chocolate if you buy a tree, some hot dogs and lots and lots of craft items to buy, too. Wear old shoes or boots, can get a little muddy. read more

First time there, was told by 2 employees where to park. When the owner asked who parked there and we told them it was us as that's where we were told to park by staff, he lost his temper. My husband has been going to Hozak's since he was a child and now we have been taking our son for the past 16 years. That tradition has now died...we will never be back to Hozak's again!!! We went this past weekend to cut down our tree and when we arrived, my 16 year old son was driving and backing into the parking spot. It was a gorgeous, sunny, 50 degree day so it was a very busy place.... there were so many people walking around and a few of them had walked directly behind us through the parking spot, so my son HAD to stop and let them through before proceeding to back into the spot. The parking attendant was literally YELLING--- arms flailing, making faces--- the whole 9 yards.... screaming at my son to MOVE!!! Even though my son did NOTHING wrong, my husband told him that he's 16, newly licensed and ask him to relax and cut him a break. He just yelled more! This completely ruined the experience for all of us. It only took a few seconds for the people to pass and my son to continue to park....why on Earth would someone who works at a Christmas tree farm be sooooooo mean and rude to a 16 year old boy?!?!?! I cried for about 20 minutes, hoping to calm down and not wanting to ruin a tradition that has been passed on from generation to generation, but we realized that we did NOT want to be there anymore and we certainly did NOT want to give our money to this business. So, we went to a tree farm just a few miles away and had a MUCH better experience than we EVER had at Hozak's in previous years. They were much more organized, had nicer, bigger trees, better tractors and of course FRIENDLY staff! So, it ended up being an upgrade for us in the end, but I'm still blown away at the complete disrespect and rudeness at Hozak's. It was completely uncalled for. read more

Hozak's is as good as it gets. Their Pumpkin Patch is a must every year. We love to get our pumpkins, check out the little store, ride the ponies, ride the haunted hay ride, and get our grub on with the funnel cakes and kettle corn. I have been bringing my girls, 8 and 10, to the Pumpkin Patch at Hozak's for years. It is just thoroughly enjoyable for kids of all ages, even the tiny ones. For Christmas, you can't beat Hozak's for cutting down your tree. You can cut down your tree or pick from a tree that has been cut already. The staff are always helpful and will help you get your tree (huge in my case) on your car. read more

Seriously loved this place!!!! A little off the beaten path (we drove around 45 minutes) but so worth it. Family owned and operated, everyone was so friendly and helpful. Endless selection of trees to "cut your own" and a pre-cut lot next to the adorable gift shop and snack stand. They have wagon rides out to the different tree farms- every type imaginable. Reasonably priced between $45-$60. We had the best day visiting here and finding our 2017 tree. read more

Wow! So disappointing!! Extremely poor customer service and overpriced everything. If you are looking for a warm and welcoming holiday environment this is NOT the place for you. Once they finally acknowledged us (and that took some time) they treated us as if we were an annoyance for checking out! Not even the customer service basics- hello, thank you- were there, god forbid a happy holidays. Very uncomfortable and uninviting. I am all for supporting local businesses, but don't waste your time or money here! You'd be better off going to home depot....at least they sometimes smile there! read more

So disappointing!! I went yesterday for the Fall Festival. This was the worst farm experience that I have ever had. We only stayed 5 minutes because a dog chasing another dog jumped on and knocked over both of my children (ages 1 and 6). I tried to talk to 3 different people and no one wanted to speak to me about the dog knocking my children over. I later found out one of the people who walked away was the owner. Unsafe and horrible customer service. I go to many farms throughout the fall and I have never felt unsafe before. Spend your money elsewhere! read more
