Have had to come into the branch every week for last 10 weeks (to pay the builders) and the cashiers have been so helpful and friendly. They even remember me so makes the whole process so much quicker read more

I would have been concerned that it was a half hour wait, but after this and the being allowed to go for a walk as long as I returned within the due time meant that I was fine with it all. Before the due time a helpful gentleman called Michael R B came to help and just could not have been nicer. I had come in to resolve a banking problem and was incredibly impressed that Janice B even telephone me the next working day to check that all had gone okay. I mean that is incredible, when does a High Street Bank do that. Wow ! This a brand new branch as they have relocated from a location which is slightly higher up the road. About 5 years ago there was another HSBC that was phenomenal, however the manager changed and it instantly went from incredible to totaly rubbish. Evidently this branch has a great manager and hopefully they will stay there for as long as possible, because I will be a customer there for as long as this person stays. Sadly it does have to be said that I have not had such good experiences with HSBC call centres, but this branch is great.

There never seems to be an attempt to increase the number of cashiers at busy times. Having said that the customers all seem to be prepared to wait patiently in line. There is also a customer service desk which also is very busy. I usually use the quick drop facility when I pay in cash or cheques, I just have to put the paying in slip into an envelope along with the appropriate items that I am paying in and then post them into a slot, the cashiers retrieve them later in the day and pay them into my account, this has always worked fine.

The machines for paying cash into can be a bit ropey, but all in all a great service for people who are good with machines. It is still okay for people that are not good with technology as the staff do give less machine literate all the help and support they need so they do not feel silly. If you are trying to pay cash in and your notes are not in good condition and most notes are not, then the staff do tell you to go to the branch down the road for the full cashier services which is a bit annoying. However if you are insistant they will help you put them in their machines by flatttening the notes which takes about 5 minutes. All in all a good service though, not as good as a proper branch but still pleased that it is there and it is very impressive.

This branch of Lloyds Bank is located on Victoria Street, it is basically right outside the…read moreUnderground and Cardinal Place so it is in a convenient location for Victoria, hence central London. The bank its-self is rather small compared to nearby banks compared to the likes of Natwest, but it is still a satisfactory size and includes a small number of machines for withdrawing and paying in cash and cheques to your account. As with any branch, there is a small number of seating, sadly it didn't seem to be too comfortable and free wi-fi, which was satisfactory considering it is a bank and not a tech shop, mainly good for checking emails and online banking. The staff here didn't stand out particularly, again typical of London. The store opening hours are good during the week, but pretty pathetic at weekends, as with 99% of banks in the UK, it remains closed on Sunday's, infact I've only ever seen one Lloyds Bank open on Sunday's, which is my local branch on Manchester - Market Street which also has a coffee shop, on Saturday's the bank closes early at 2 pm, again this is typical of most local banks but still pretty poor if like me you're far from an early bird. Unlike most central London banks which are pretty basic, they did have some cool aspects and adaptations to the store to include the Lloyds Bank horse near the ATM's which I liked. A decent bank let down by service and opening hours but still one of the better locations Lloyds Bank do have in London. 3*
