This is the lobby of The Hotel Plaza Athenee hotel. Great for people watching and fine delicacies ... now Just a mess. A 50 Euro Croque Plaza sandwich . Sounds pricey? It is! But it's also been the best sandwich in Paris for over 20 years. A truffled cheese and chicken sandwich now laid waste. I've had it many times. Maybe 50 or more times. Did Chef Imbert "reimagine" it? I ordered a cafe chocolat and went into the back room to wait. I was surprised to find a fairly large room with six or eight tables all with that country rustic non-matching thing going on. There was a large bookshelf along half of the back wall with a number of games and rows of books to borrow. I just sat at a table and drank my coffee - it was a lovely small relaxing little place. I did not try the food so can't comment there. The woman who served me did not rush me at all and in the end was quick to settle up with me when I was ready to leave. All good!
