This is a small little cafe on a small street in Marais. I popped in while my husband was down the street shopping for records. Having a cup of coffee seemed like a better use of my time, lol. The woman who was behind the counter was cleaning up but greeted me warmly. I ordered a cafe chocolat and went into the back room to wait. I was surprised to find a fairly large room with six or eight tables all with that country rustic non-matching thing going on. There was a large bookshelf along half of the back wall with a number of games and rows of books to borrow. I just sat at a table and drank my coffee - it was a lovely small relaxing little place. I did not try the food so can't comment there. The woman who served me did not rush me at all and in the end was quick to settle up with me when I was ready to leave. All good! read more

The cheesecake looks very average, but don't let that deter you from the amazing taste. I was surprised at how smooth and full of flavour it was as it melted in my mouth. The crust was harder on some areas but this is very minor in comparison to the rest of the cake. In terms of price, this costed 5 euro and I would classify this as on the pricier end of cheesecakes. I would try it again though as the price doesn't really compare to the quality here. The service here was superb. The employees were very friendly and helpful and worked fast as well. All around impressed. Generally I am very pleased with this cheesecake. The flavour was great and I would definitely get this again. That's it for today's episode of javing it with Javier. Location: Somewhere in the Marais. Not exactly on the beaten path so I'm guessing it's frequented by locals more than tourists. The place: I love it. They've got a table or two at the front of the shop, but the back room is where the magic is. It's like walking into someone's living room - there are a few communal tables and a wall lined with bookshelves - so if you forget the paper or your book, just get one off the shelf. The vibe is super cozy and relaxed. The goods: I had a latté - it was delicious and creamy. Also, a ham and cornichon sandwich that was awesome. The bread was SO fresh, and the jam was oh so tasty. Very satisfying. I got there before lunch and they were nice enough to make me the sandwich anyway. Good, 'cause I was borderline hangry! Service: OK. One lady was friendly and the other was a bit of a sourpuss. Price point: 10€ for a huge latté and a huge sandwich (with salad). read more

Stylish coffee shop frequented by laptop users enjoying fabulous coffee and cake. Came here for breakfast. Freshly squeezed orange, hot drink of your choice and either cake, tart or granola. Granola was lovely served with natural yogurt. Really tasty ....but would have loved a few fresh berries with it. Chilled atmosphere in the room at the back. Lots of (French) books to help yourself to. A few games and packs of cards. Ambient music and rustic wooden tables. Would definitely call here again if in the area. read more

This review may be my own downfall. I had been looking for a coffee shop to study in within the borders of Paris for a while now. There usually isn't enough space in most places or they don't serve food---you need both for a multi-hour/full day study session. Oh and Wifi. Coffee Spoune serves great coffee and tea, a few baked goods to complement your 'pause', but they also have simple sandwiches and salads if you are in the mood for something more substantial. There is ample table space and a quiet atmosphere so it is perfect for reading, studying or just a mid-afternoon pause. The staff is very accommodating and never makes you feel rushed to leave. If only they were open past 6pm! Definitely recommend this place, but please don't take my table :-(. read more

Adorable cafe. We came for breakfast and they have breakfast combos that come with coffee, fresh squeezed juice (juiced right in front of you), fresh bread with ham and cheese (to assemble a sandwich) , and soft boiled eggs. All very delicious! And the people are very friendly. The ambiance is very cute! read more

I have been on the lookout for places to get good coffee and be able to work in in Paris, and I think I have just added a spot to that list. Place was surprisingly not crowded on a Saturday noon, and so I ordered myself a cappuccino and got some work done. Would definitely drop by again and try some food next time :) read more

I don't know where the hype for this place comes from. Sure they have a nice room in the back with a library. It has some rustic flair. I had breakfast and choose a cappuccino with a piece of lemon cake. The coffee was ok but the lemon cake seemed at least one day old. All for 8€. read more

Great coffee, really cosy, friendly service. Will definitely be back. The coffee is the nicest we've been able to dig up doing our days in Paris. We are really surprised how hard it is to find a decent coffee, but here you don't need to look further. The atmosphere is really nice and laid back. They have a few tables close to the coffee machine and a larger room with more seatings right behind, which is decorated to make you feel at home and all relaxed. The service is super attentive without rushing you in any way. They also seem to be making a lot of the food from scratch. When we came by shortly after they opened, they were preparing their salty broccoli and cheese cakes for the brunch. We wrote we would be back - and we were already next day. We just had to have another nice cup of coffee. read more

Fantastic cafe that is VERY work-friendly. Lots of tables and a good number of outlets. Food and coffee are great and the service is phenomenal also. I was working in Paris for 2 months, tried not to go to the same place twice when I'd go out on the weekends, but would take the metro to Coffee Spoune once every few weeks because it was such a good cafe. read more

First let me preface this review with saying that I haven't had a good cup of coffee the last week I've been in France. Everything is coffee from these machines... it's all bad. I found Coffee Spounce which is right by my hotel. I walked over first thing. Greeted by two lovely women. They were patient with my French, smiled, and were super helpful. They made the place feel warm and inviting. Ordered a Grand Creme (I think) which was a flat white I believe. Regardless it was great. A real pull of espresso and velvet smooth milk. Also had some banana nut cake. Also good. This could have been one of any of the solid local coffee houses in the NYC Metro area. If you're an American and looking for some US style coffee this is the spot. read more

This place has lots of space to sit in the back with great atmosphere. It also has a collection of books that you can read or swap out with one of your own. The coffee was great! It was about €3,50 for a cafe au lait. read more

Finally l found a great coffee place in Paris after a couple of days of searching. It's a nice small place with a few tables and they serve excellent cappuccinos and sandwiches. Service is great and they have an interesting library in the back. read more

A lovely cup of espresso and a latte and 2 slices of cheesecake. Quiet and quaint place. Tom cruise book in the bathroom gave me a chuckle.
