Stylish coffee shop frequented by laptop users enjoying fabulous coffee and cake. Came here for breakfast. Freshly squeezed orange, hot drink of your choice and either cake, tart or granola. Granola was lovely served with natural yogurt. Really tasty ....but would have loved a few fresh berries with it. Chilled atmosphere in the room at the back. Lots of (French) books to help yourself to. A few games and packs of cards. Ambient music and rustic wooden tables. Would definitely call here again if in the area.

Adorable cafe. We came for breakfast and they have breakfast combos that come with coffee, fresh squeezed juice (juiced right in front of you), fresh bread with ham and cheese (to assemble a sandwich) , and soft boiled eggs. All very delicious! And the people are very friendly. The ambiance is very cute!

Charming cafe place. My coffee was excellent. Little snacks are available, too. A bookshelf full of old and used books invites for reading.

I have been on the lookout for places to get good coffee and be able to work in in Paris, and I think I have just added a spot to that list. Place was surprisingly not crowded on a Saturday noon, and so I ordered myself a cappuccino and got some work done. Would definitely drop by again and try some food next time :)

My wonderful coffee - sorry, couldn't help having a taste before taking the picture.

Great coffee, really cosy, friendly service. Will definitely be back. The coffee is the nicest we've been able to dig up doing our days in Paris. We are really surprised how hard it is to find a decent coffee, but here you don't need to look further. The atmosphere is really nice and laid back. They have a few tables close to the coffee machine and a larger room with more seatings right behind, which is decorated to make you feel at home and all relaxed. The service is super attentive without rushing you in any way. They also seem to be making a lot of the food from scratch. When we came by shortly after they opened, they were preparing their salty broccoli and cheese cakes for the brunch. We wrote we would be back - and we were already next day. We just had to have another nice cup of coffee.

Delicious pesto chicken sandwich and a latte. Menu is always changing but every time I eat here it's great.

A lovely cup of espresso and a latte and 2 slices of cheesecake. Quiet and quaint place. Tom cruise book in the bathroom gave me a chuckle.

Angelina, Paris, France -- April 12…read more Our family of four with kids ages 9 and 10 stopped here for lunch after visiting the Louvre, drawn in by its reputation for having the best hot chocolate in the world. We were looking for a place to relax and refuel, and the experience felt a bit mixed overall. Arrival and First Impressions The space is elegant with classic Parisian charm. The line moved quickly, and we were seated with a great view of the dining room. It felt refined but still comfortable. The Highlights The famous hot chocolate lived up to expectations, thick, rich, and almost more like a dessert than a drink. We also had French onion soup and an éclair, both of which were very good. The pastries were clearly well made and thoughtfully prepared. The kids had chicken tenders, which they enjoyed, even though the tomato sauce was a bit different from what they expected. The Challenges The biggest drawback was the price. The meal felt expensive for what we ordered, coming in at €154 for a fairly simple lunch. Service felt slightly rushed as they moved tables along quickly. Final Thoughts We would likely return if we were nearby and specifically craving the hot chocolate again. It is a classic Paris stop and worth trying once, but the value may not justify going out of your way unless that signature experience is high on your list.

It really tastes like melted chocolate with a bit of milk mixed in to make it more drinkable. We went at a bit of an off time, late morning and it wasn't overly busy. We saw our server once and I couldn't recall who he was when it came time to get the bill. I asked a hostess walking by for our check and she told me to ask our server while walking away. We were able to flag another server down eventually but the whole process just took too long. The tables for four have chairs that don't quite tuck in causing for a bit awkward seating. If you like really thick hot chocolate, give it a try but otherwise ok to miss this one. Plenty of good hot chocolate throughout the city.

I came here on my first visit to France with my sister and brother-in-law. I had just finished my time at the Eiffel tower and walked over to this restaurant for a drink and a snack. I was seated immediately, waiting for the rest of my party. The staff were incredibly patient, allowing me to stay for the fifteen-ish minutes it took for my family to arrive. We, of course, ordered the hot chocolate topped with cream. It was incredibly rich, which was the draw. It was required that we each ordered our own teapot, which provided about two and a half cups of hot chocolate. This was a bit excessive, as the drink was heavy and I could only stomach a cup. I did wish the restaurant allowed us to split the pot amongst our table. Nonetheless, I enjoy dining at Carette and returned on my second Paris trip with my husband. Anyone visiting for the first time should try their thick hot chocolate at least once.

I couldn't tell if this was a real apple or some fancy French creation made to look like one - that's how real it looked! Only thing that we were missing was some good ol' milk! + Almond Croissant - Once again, delicious! Solid croissant and definitely a good grab and go candidate. = Citronnade - Was just OK. Lemonade that was on the watered down side, but was somewhat refreshing because I was dying of thirst. THE SERVICE ----------------------- - Employee who helped us with our order was friendly, but the cashier was a bit blah and not exactly the friendliest person, especially when we asked for extra utensils and napkins. THE SURROUNDINGS ------------------------------------ - Smallish, tight interior that you can dine in at, but don't be surprised if the next table is sitting on top of you. + There are also 5 outdoor tables on the narrow street. - Entrance is tight too. RANDOM OBSERVATIONS ------------------------------------------- + Even though this bakery is ranked highly on Tripadvisor, there was no crowd on the Monday morning that we swung by.
