Whether you're a…read morechild exploring art for the first time or an adult looking to refine your skills, there's something here for everyone. I originally stopped by in search of pottery classes--and was delighted to find not only that they offer them, but also that a new session begins on October 13th. In addition, there's a Fall Break Art Camp for grades 2-5, where children will experiment with a range of media including watercolor, acrylics, and collage. As I walked through the space, I was able to watch artists at work and enjoy the current gallery exhibits on display. The atmosphere was inspiring and welcoming. Adult fall classes--running October 6th through December 13th--are also available, covering both visual and ceramic arts. Each class is taught by individual instructors, making it approachable for students of all levels. Best of all, online registration makes it simple to sign up. I was pleasantly surprised to discover that such a wonderful resource has been right in my neighborhood all along. It was a great experience, and I've already registered for pottery classes--something I'm really excited about! If you're looking for a place to explore your creative side, I highly recommend checking out the Art Center. Great value for 8 weeks art class at $280

I have to admit, it wasn't nearly as messy as I expected--they provided everything we needed and made the whole experience easy and enjoyable. My granddaughter had a blast, and thanks to the wonderful employees, she gives this place 10 stars. And, said "We will definitely be back"!!! For me, it was the perfect stress-relief activity and such a great bonding experience. We went at noon, so it was peaceful and relaxed, which made it even better. The staff was incredibly attentive, giving clear instructions before and after our session. It was also nice to see that they offer event spaces for parties and gatherings. Highly recommend Color Sling for anyone looking for a unique, fun, and memorable experience

There are amazing group deals on their website as well as some more information about the business! Melissa, co-owner, was there the day we went in and she was so so welcoming. We were supplied ponchos and shoe coverings as well as lockers for our things and even hair nets and accessories. They thought of it all! Melissa explained everything to us and made sure we were comfortable before leaving us to our creativity. I absolutely loved the fact that we were always checked on as well as our paint and cleaning waters. Melissa would make encouraging comments I needed because I for one am not creative. LOL I absolutely cannot wait to drop by again and bring others because I definitely feel it's a very special little place. The vibe just gives and I'm so grateful to know a place like this exists.

From the owner: The SKA mission is to provide children from K-12 the opportunity to explore their artistic talents,…read moreto promote the value of art in their development and through experience to help them understand and appreciate art in all of it's applications. Fundamental to this mission is our curriculum which goes beyond typical art lessons to a more wholistic approach where students learn by experience, collaboration and exposure to ideas in their own community and the world around them. In addition to our innovative and creative programs, SKA encourages student involvement in local and international art activities and competitions, conducts field trips and excursions to art and design related venues, and encourages students to engage with their community on many levels and integrating art into applications such as science, creative writing, mathematics and more. Our outreach programs expose children to many contemporary concepts, helping them understand the world and express themselves in a personal way. Students wishing to pursue careers in art and design develop the resources they need to make informed choices, and the skills they need to meet the criteria of their future educational decisions. By contributing to the community through leadership and collaborative events, students demonstrate their skills, techniques, creativity and develop conceptual ideas. Various programs draw out and expand on leadership, communication , presentation skills and more.

It's in the mall but easily accessible from the movie theater entrance at Sugarloaf Mills. Since I had a guide for my first time it was a less stress experience but the staff offered kind and polite assistance. Wash your hand first, then wander and pick your pottery. There are many pieces to choose from at different price points. Then take your piece to the desk to check-in and choose your paints. From there grab a table and get started painting. Simply drop off and pay at the desk when you're done. Come back and pick up in a week once it's been glazed and fired. I loved the painted pieces that are on display since they are great for inspiration. I went back to pick up my pieces and decided to go for another round. I think I'm hooked!

They take the time to listen and give you the best advice possible. I purchased a Baby Lock Allegro. I love my sewing machine, but not sure it it loves me back.... They finally sent it back to the manufacturer for repair. After more than three months I finally got it back the third time and it was fixed but they insist that there was nothing wrong with the machine. The problem was that I was using it wrong. I have to use my left foot to operate it instead of my right foot. If this was the case, which I do not believe is the case, they should have been able to tell me this when I returned it the first time. They just don't want to take responsibility for the frustration and inconvenience I have suffered over the last year. After paying almost $8000 for a machine, I expected more from them.
