I originally stopped by in search of pottery classes--and was delighted to find not only that they offer them, but also that a new session begins on October 13th. In addition, there's a Fall Break Art Camp for grades 2-5, where children will experiment with a range of media including watercolor, acrylics, and collage. As I walked through the space, I was able to watch artists at work and enjoy the current gallery exhibits on display. The atmosphere was inspiring and welcoming. Adult fall classes--running October 6th through December 13th--are also available, covering both visual and ceramic arts. Each class is taught by individual instructors, making it approachable for students of all levels. Best of all, online registration makes it simple to sign up. I was pleasantly surprised to discover that such a wonderful resource has been right in my neighborhood all along. It was a great experience, and I've already registered for pottery classes--something I'm really excited about! They gave a lot of time for the slower painters like me who are brand new to painting. It was an awesome group experience for my family and me. The only thing that I'm knocking one star off for is that I think it would have helped for them to tell people to bring their own glasses for wine when they emailed everyone saying to come early. And to wear old clothes that you won't get paint on. I think that those two sentences that can be emailed to everyone will go a long way. The painting I did was amazing too! It looks great and will be very sentimental to me in the future.

Even after we became loud, and drunk, they continued to keep us on track. We left with beautiful works of art, and lots of fuzzy memories. It's a painting class, so don't wear fancy clothes. Also, bring everything you need - plates, cups, silverware, napkins. If your drinks or food need to stay cold bring a cooler. They do not have a fridge. I do not consider myself to be a artist, even in the basic sense of the word. But, the paint strokes are explained, and they will help you if you need it.

It comes with all the equipment you need (sound, projectors, kitchen with warmers and microwaves). They arrange the room, which seats up to 120, how you want. The facility is extremely affordable. I wish there was more parking, but there are other areas nearby to park. The people there are very helpful and kind. If you clean up to their liking after the event, you get your deposit back within the following week. I'd do another event there in the future.

A RELAXING FRIDAY NIGHT!…read more Tonight my husband and I attended one of the First Friday concerts at the center. These concerts occur the first Friday of every month in the upstairs ballroom. They are from 7:00 until 9:00 and feature a variety of artists. Attendees are encouraged to bring their dinner and eat during the concert just as they do during the summer concerts. Tonight's group was "Out of the Rain" featuring Ron HIpp and Carol Statella, a folk duo. It is apparent that they have been together for a very long time because they just flow together seamlessly. I enjoyed tonight's selections which included folk classics and a country waltz. It was great "feel good" music that allows you to forget about everything but sitting back and fully enjoying the moment. It was a great way to spend a Friday evening!

I've done two workshops from Masterpiece Mixers and had a fantastic experience! The first was a…read moretypical painting and the second was a holiday wooden sign. Both turned out really well thanks to the guidance of Masterpiece Mixers! I was super surprised that I actually liked what I left with- the girls ARE very good at giving tips and helping you with decisions if you want it! Super fun atmosphere. They came to my neighborhood's clubhouse so it was a very convenient location as well. My husband and I brought some wine and some snacks and had a great time. It was a fun date night- took about 2 hours total. Can't wait to do it again sometime soon!

My wife (thank god, deals with schools and so on but last week when I went to see my daughter in practice after 1 hour or so I had something to take care of out the school and was to go back and pick up my daughter. My wife told me Lori Zamzow is the owner and I went over to let her know that my daughter would miss 2 shows on the 20th and 21st because I had booked in April a family trip to celebrate her 15th birthday. She did not even let me start talking, She ignored me and said to talk to Brooke Burgess (School Director) I said, I was told it was going to be difficult and they both looked at each other but I still went to talk to Burgess. I let her know that my daughter would be missing 2 shows me thinking is the right thing to do but nope, what a mistake, Burgess had no idea on what to do and went back to Lori Zamzow. She came over and told me about the commitment and all on the contract and I said, I understand but when the trip was made I chose the dates I did base on last years show dates (picture of last year schedule attach) She said to me that I need to cancel the trip I said I cant. told me to get my money back, I said impossible. Told me of the contract and I said I understand but I cant re-schedule this trip, ships don't leave at my convenience and I already had made a payment back in April for over 10k. At the end of the conversation I did say that the situation was making my blood boil and I took full responsibility for booking this trip thinking school would be over by the 18th but no, It did not work out that way. After almost 4 years committed to making sure this company gets paid on time, credit card on file for automatic payments and my wife taking my kid there and me after work picking her up what did Lori Zamzow do? she told Brooke Burgess like 20 min after I left the school to call me and she said, can you cancel that trip? Can you get a refund? can your reschedule? NO NO NO, this is a bully that barks because they know they have are kids there and they know how to crush them. She kicked my daughter out of: The Nativity Ballet show The NUTcracker show and all company pieces and future performances . Also, kicked her out her company beginning the next evening Nov 21st. I can understand being charged the $300 dollars If my daughter wanted to quit company, but all of the above looks very personal to me. Someone there also made a treat via email to send my account (1000% on time payments) to collections. what? Email is also attached. To my point, Bully and bark and keep talking and treating people the way you do, The only reason I don't yank my kid out of there is because from something this sad she said to me that she likes her teachers and friends. She will learn soon that when you are a paying client is true that customers are not always right, being a business owner my self, I would never treat someone like that. I told my daughter that this will make her stronger, because if for having a father that wanted to do the right thing and for this company to treat my daughter like that is unacceptable. My understanding is that many parents have pulled there kids out, I want out but my kid at 14 has no idea what a bully is, I do. I will keep supporting my kid no matter what and one last thing, care full if English is not your first language, Some there act like they cant understand you and for some sick sad reason they think is funny. This particular location is new, but the gallery itself has been around for about 20 years. Since…read morewe were the only visitors here, we received the VIP tour and all of this nice gentleman's attention. :) Even though he was assisting in the garden, he popped in and out occasionally to see if we had questions and to give us a mini history of the piece we were viewing at the moment. He was VERY knowledgeable as he can spout out the origin of the artwork and artist's mini bio by memory. The artwork came all over: Spain, Russia, Italy, etc. There were water colored and oil paintings, sculptures, to even a few black light paintings. Yes, black light. When viewed under the black light, these piece will awe you. There will be a garden coming soon since it is a work in progress when we visited here this past Sat. From the plant's labels, there will be a variety of plant species. Although small and right in front of the gallery, you can sit and enjoy the sun's warmth and take in the nature's beauty. Even though this was a small gallery, it took about an hour to an hour and a half to fully enjoy the artwork and get the history of some of the pieces. And though I was here for the Motion and Light exhibit, I enjoyed the whole gallery and the guidance from the gentleman. I can't wait for the garden to be complete and for the warmer weather to arrive. Admissions to this place is totally free btw. And sometimes the artist will visit and meet and greet events are organized here as well.

Last night, the City of Duluth celebrated summer with the community with a FREE concert…read more We all gathered, picnicked, relaxed, danced & enjoyed a beautiful night!! I really don't know the name of the bands, but the headline was a Tom Petty Tribute Band, REALLY REALLY good! Lots of cute shops, restaurants, paint pottery, walk around, playgrounds, play/splash fountain (bring a towel), cute coffee bar, etc. come enjoy a few hours. Plenty of parking around, just please be carof foot traffic. Security is always around; Duluth's Finest!!!

Downtown Duluth's Old Town is such a gem! Every year the Fall Festival brings thousands of people…read moretogether, and the energy is amazing. At the center is a big water fountain that makes the whole area feel like a gathering spot. There are tons of little shops and restaurants to explore, plus a paint-your-own pottery place that's really fun. Families will love the playground and splash fountain (definitely bring a towel if you've got kids). I also love the cute coffee bar--it's a perfect stop when you're just walking around. Overall, it's a charming spot that's great for an afternoon stroll, grabbing a bite, or bringing the family out. Always something to enjoy here!
