On 4/1/21, I was seen by Dr. Rana at North Arlington Ortho for an Invisalign consult. My experience at the consult ultimately led me to choose another provider for Invisalign, as it was clear to me at that time that the number one priority at this practice is the money patients bring in, not the patients themselves. Before I had even consulted with the doctor, the office manager requested payment from me for the consult fee, which felt a little hasty. Things got very awkward very quickly when I pulled out my credit card to pay just to be told that the office doesn't accept American Express. It's pretty uncommon for businesses in the Tri State not to accept Amex, so you can understand my surprise, as well as my concern, considering that was the only form of payment I had with me. The situation escalated & truly felt like a standoff, with now several employees standing around me in the consult room, driving home the idea that they somehow cannot process a $50 Amex payment, while I'm helplessly 40 minutes away from my home & any other forms of payment. Always remember that businesses can take Amex, but choose not to because of the fees associated with card. You'd think in this scenario, they'd make an exception to ease the tension & make a new patient more comfortable in a clearly uncomfortable situation, but instead, the group proceeded to ask me for my bank routing information to process the payment that way. Of course, I wasn't comfortable with that seeing as this was my first time ever stepping foot in this office. They finally backed down & said they'd 'allow me' to call the next day to pay over the phone with my debit card, & even then, they beat me to it & were quick to call ME the following day requesting payment remittance, to which they tacked on a processing fee for using a card. Typically debit is as good as cash, so that's bizarre and frankly, cheap. Long story short, it's easy to see what a money hungry practice this is, so I chose another provider who's primary focus is patient care & well-being. THEN... it gets WORSE. I happened to log in to my dental insurance providers site last week for an unrelated reason, & noticed that North Arlington Orthodontics billed my insurance for, & I QUOTE, an 'unspecified orthodontic procedure'. I guess they forgot that my dental insurance doesn't cover orthodontia, so there is now a $302 patient liability on my explanation of benefits summary that they claim I owe to them. Of course, when asked about why on earth my insurance would have been billed following a consult that I paid out of pocket for, I was told the office manager who handles insurance was 'out of office' & the front desk staff had 'no idea!!!!!!!!!' what the reason for billing my insurance would have been. Why would this office bill someone's insurance who is not their patient? I'll tell you the reason--they hoped they could quietly squeeze a couple hundred dollars out of Delta Dental & I'd be none the wiser. Sorry Dr. Greenberg, you targeted the wrong individual. This is fraudulent & unethical, so think twice & vote with your dollar with this information in mind like you would any other business that is morally questionable.

I went to Center for Smiles when my previous dentist, Dr. Kuncio, sold her practice to him. He turned out to be the opposite of Dr. Kuncio, who was honest and straightforward, and very mindful of what her patients could afford. To my knowledge, none of her staff who went to work at Center for Smiles is still employed there. Indeed, there seemed to be a high turnover of staff at Center for Smiles in the 15 months I was a patient there. Some highlights: 1. Vidya Sartorious, the office manager, collected $6,000 from Care Credit on my behalf when only $1,100 worth of work had been done. 2. Failed to file for preauthorization with my denta; insurance, as promised, so my claim was denied. 3. Vidya Sartorious (at the behest of Dr. Rallis) tried to rush me into completing this work, and pushed up demands for MORE money, directly contradicting Dr. Rallis' prior verbal agreements with me. 3. Dr. Rallis did not listen to my concerns, and failed to reconsider his treatment plan for a $23K bridge, even after I repeatedly expressed doubt because of underlying infections and pain in the affected teeth. ("We can take care of that infection afterwards, with an apicoectomy." But first we will put a $23K 10-tooth bridge on top? Umm,no.) 4. After I appealed to Care Credit, Dr. Rallis claimed to have done an additional $1645 worth of work, which, if true, was done without my knowledge, permission, or consent. I expressly withdrew my consent that very day, before this work was done, until my insurance preauthorization was worked out. I did not and would not have given permission for this work. I only agreed to a temporary bridge. 5. Did not file with my insurance company for this additional work, either, although it would have been denied for failure to get a preauthorization, the issue I confronted them with that very day. 6. Has yet to send me a copy of my x-rays after several months, and refused delivery of my second, certified mail request. This is just the tip of the iceberg of this very unfortunate experience, with further legal action pending.

At first, I checked out a dental group out on LI, and was quoted very high (expensive!) for a procedure that would have been time consuming (over the course of several weeks). I was hesitant to move forward, and wanted a second opinion. I remembered that my old dentist recommended Dr. Rallis, so I went for a second opinion. I am glad I did! I realized that my retiring dentist recommendation had a lot of merit. Dr. Rallis is a valued professional, thorough, caring, and his staff is very comforting and put me at ease. He and his team reviewed the procedure, explained to me everything, and I was quoted significantly less, and the time frame was much shorter to get it done. I opted to use Dr. Rallis, and I am very happy that I did. It was very high quality, and a great experience. I recommend him without hesitation to all friends and family.

They are always running on time, and everyone is friendly and pleasant. Its a very clean, bright office; its small but its very well planned. The office is only 2 blocks from the train station, or if you drive they have 2 spots in their lot , or are only 1 block from the municipal parking lot. On his website, it says Dr Rubin is all about giving you a beautiful smile - well I don't know how he is at restorative, because he's so good at preventative. I've been going to him at least annually, usually bi-annually for 24 years (I'm in my 30's) and honestly, I have a great smile, and I believe Dr Rubin is a big part of that. Having a dentist that I not only trust, but that is pleasant, with a great staff means I don't mind going to the dentist, which means I end up getting great dental care. I've had 4 cavities in my life - each were caught very early, and therefore it really wasn't a terrible process to get them filled. I ending up cracking one (my own fault), getting an infection and needed a root canal. Again, it wasn't a terrible process because I had a great dentist, who took care of it quickly. For big jobs he refers me out - he sent me to a surgeon to have my wisdom teeth out. And when I had to have the root canal tooth redone after a decade, and decided to just get an implant, he referred me to a specialist (who was also really great!) Dr Rubin did pull my tooth himself, and he fit and had the new "tooth" made for me. Seriously - the worst part of the whole process - having the tooth pulled, the implant placed, the fittings, etc - was not being able to drink hot coffee for 3 days. That's how painless the procedures were: that's a good dentist! Cleanings and x-rays are like that too, quick, painless and easy.
