Never get a haircut from Amber. (Never going here again!!!) I expressed concerns with my scars from whenever I had cancer and had to get brain surgery and she screamed at me for asking for advice on what haircut I should get to keep them covered was extremely rude the entire haircut. I was so uncomfortable the entire cut wanted to leave early but was stuck she didn't even finish the fade on the sides and didn't clean up my neck line. I've been going here for 2 years and the one time I was late the barber (Chad) refused to work with me. My haircuts are scheduled for 40 minutes and he takes 20-25 minutes to do my hair. We had 30 minutes left in my appointment and all I wanted was a haircut, I didn't need a shampoo or mechanical massage. As I was trying to see if there was a way for him to help me out, he kept saying, "that's our policy but I have someone else who can cut your hair." That part made no sense given that for the next 30 minutes he is not doing anything. I was extremely upset about their customer service and will not be returning in the future. read more

Was a good haircut but way too overpriced, with everything included the haircut should've been no more than $25. Recently moved to the area and my barber back home did a slightly better cut for less than half the price. read more

An interesting day at the shop. While I did not have an appointment -- honestly, I never even considered it -- I had to wait almost two hours to get a cut ..... and there was no one there. No seriously, outside of the few that came in with appointments, I was the only one there. When I finally got into a chair, the gal either had no idea how to do a zero fade or was too scared to do it. She told me it takes too long and she had an appointment. Really!?!??! A young gal (9yr old) came in and she was done in less then 10 minutes. I honestly believe I was better off. When I did get a cut, he did a decent job. I give a one star for customer service, a three star for the cut, and a five star for the establishment. Nice place. Oooo, and pricey too. Wow! read more

First I will say that the barbershop generally has a nice vibe and the person working the front desk was great, very professional and courteous. But that's where my compliments end. This place was recommended to me as a shop where trans and queer people could go and get high quality, respectful service. I can't speak to the other folks who work here, but I had a horrible experience with Liz. She is clearly not knowledgeable/aware/respectful of trans and non-binary identities because she misgendered me during my cut. But there were a lot of other issues as well that are the reason for my 2 star rating. First, the whole experience with Liz felt rushed, she did not listen to what I asked for, and she seemed constantly distracted. She did not take the time to actually look at my hair pattern and find my cowlicks and so the cut resulted in hair sticking up at the crown of my head. I paid for a clipper and scissor cut (the basic cut) but she only used scissors. She did not fade down my edges with clippers, like I asked her to. I believe she did not use clippers because she was gendering me as a woman and maybe assumed that I was averse to clippers (other stylists have assumed this too), but I clearly came to a barbershop and I clearly chose the cut that included the use of clippers. She left one side longer than the other around the ear and so one side looks overgrown while the other looks trimmed. I told her I didn't want my neck line to come to a point in the middle but that's exactly how she left it. She did not provide me any time to look at the cut with my glasses on before she was done. She literally gave me 2 seconds before taking me back to shampoo and said "how's it looking so far" which I took to mean that she wasn't done cutting. But she was, and she left it way too long on top. She left me with long bangs that I did not ask for. She didn't hand me a mirror to look at the back of my head like every other barber I've gone to has done. I asked her to use texturizing scissors to take out some of the heaviness and she said she would, but she didn't. Finally, Liz styled my hair at the end into this HORRID looking feminine 50s pouf and I was so embarrassed that I tried to fix it while walking back to my car. But she used some kind of powder that made my hair incredibly difficult to move and also made it look very frizzy. I went straight home and had to wash my hair several times to get the powder out. If I had wanted a feminine cut with no clippers and a feminine style I would have gone to a women's beauty salon. But I came to a barbershop for a reason. Liz told me she had been recruited to work at Hudson/Hawk from Great Clips and it shows. I got a Great Clips haircut for a high-end barbershop price. I will not be returning here and now I have to go spend more money to fix this terrible haircut. read more

A friend recommended Hudson/Hawk to me and I've got to they were spot on. It reminded me of the barber I went to when I was a kid. It's in a great location, had a comfortable waiting area, and the staff was nice. Cassia was my barber and she did a fantastic job. She knew what she was doing and I really respected her opinion. The place is really nice, I thought I was going to get an excellent haircut but I was 100% wrong. I asked for a very simple haircut ended up with a complete jabroni haircut. 25 dollars out of my pocket gone it was so bad I had to get a second haircut the same day. If you're not getting a pompadour or a fade I strongly recommend not going. Overall not happy with this place and will never go again. read more

Walking in the shop just gives off exactly the vibe I would want within a barber shop. It was very laid back and welcoming. I got my haircut by Daniel and I've never been more satisfied. I've always had trouble finding a shop/barber that can do a quality fade but Daniel has it down pat. He not only does an amazing fade but he also does extremely well at texturizing the top of your hair. His attention to detail and general knowledge really shows. I have a feeling you could come in wanting just about any hair cut and he would absolutely kill it. I would recommend Daniel/Hudson Hawk to anyone thinking about giving it a try! read more

Love the haircuts I have gotten but they aren't on time and have canceled appointments on me. Seems like they need more staff.
