Dave is the nicest guy and super responsive! I texted him at 10pm with a question, didn't expect a reply until the next morning and he replied right away! From the moment we called to set up the appointment our experience was wonderful! Friendly service on the phone and friendly service in person! We have a new puppy and tried the Halo system, but it was awful in our woods. The boundaries were never consistent and getting help consists of scheduling zoom calls which don't always work so basically you are on your own and we couldn't take the chance with a new puppy. Physical fences were outrageously expensive (one place quoted us $17K for 250 feet)! We decided to ask for recommendations for an electric fence and EVERYONE recommended Dave and now I see why! We called on a Monday or Tuesday and had an appointment for Friday! They were constantly in contact with us and have remained that way even after installation! That's a huge plus in this day and age when people seem to vanish after the sale! I'm thrilled that we found this great local company and very happy with how reliable it works and how well the puppy is doing with it! Our senior dog is 14 and he's doing great with it too! We cannot recommend them enough. We initially installed our fence a number of years ago with the original owner - we had great success with both of our dogs. Recently, our younger dog learned that our pond, when frozen, was no longer a natural barrier. With the water and ground frozen, the team came up with a seasonal solution that was both creative and successful. Two days ago with the pond now melted, we took down the flags, turned the lever to "summer" followed the instructions to "Superman" the dog over the invisible barrier, and our dog instantly began running back and forth as before. Dogwatch was suggested by a friend, and boy am I glad it was! Dave and his whole crew was fantastic, really taking the time to go through the entire system and work through training. I also felt the price was very fair for what we got, and for how available Dave makes himself after the installation. This company is the best. They all from the first intro phone call to the person who installed the wire and even Dave with the training. All three where very friendly and helpful. Let's start with the first call they where able to give me a quote that was 100% accurate and she answered any questions I had so I scheduled for March but I needed to change it to as soon as possible and they where able to get me in the next with with out an issue. The installer came on time at 830 in the morning and we walked around my property and custom design the perfect placement for the wire some attached to the fence and some underground(my property has a lot on it so not to increase the cost by cutting into the concrete they attached it to the fence). After they where finished Dave the owner came and first explained the training and what he was doing and why before doing it and showed us how to properly train our dogs. Then he came in and sat with us and walked us throw the training schedule the do's and don'ts of training and how to use the equipment. He then went through the whole contract and warranty and made sure we understand everything. We now on our training schedule and to make sure everything is going right and well we have schedule calls to update them and adjust any training we need they will stay with you through every step even after installation and training. I would advise anyone that is looking to have an invisible fence installed to avoid this company. I had researched numerous companies and decided to go with DogWatch. Big Mistake. Let me start by saying that the training manual, as posted on their website, stated that the training occurs in 4 phases. The first phase is supposed to consist of "audibles" only. The point of this first phase is to orient the dog to the boundaries and teach the dog not to approach the flags by means of a beep. The instructions clearly state that you should NOT move on to Phase 2 for AT LEAST 2 DAYS. Phase 2 consists of the introduction of corrections which the dog will receive if he crosses the boundary. Well our "trainer" Dave decided to condense the two phases. Within and hour of putting up the flags, he introduced corrections to my dog. There WAS NO PHASE ONE. How could a dog possibly understand what he is doing wrong if you haven't taken the time to introduce him to the boundaries and let him know he is not supposed to cross them?? My dog was so upset (understandably so) that she would not leave the house for days, not even to relieve herself. We ended up pulling out the flags and informing DogWatch that we want the system removed. What Dave did to my dog was a total disgrace! I have spoken with others who have had invisible fences installed by other companies and they were all pleased with the results. Unlike Dave, they actually followed protocol and trained the dog properly. I was livid with this guy and contacted the main headquarters to file a complaint. Their reply was "the trainer is permitted to modify the training as he sees fit". They were not bothered by the fact that Dave took what should have been 7 days of training and rushed it into one hour. It is now a few weeks later and if my dog sees a collar that even slightly resembles the one used during her training, she shakes like a leaf. There is no hope of ever having an invisible fence installed by another company because Dave traumatized my dog so badly. In addition, this company does NOT reimburse your money if you are dissatisfied, they will only reimburse a portion of it. We paid 1200.00 for our system and only had 700.00 of that money refunded. They fail to tell you that you purchase the wires and therefore that is not refundable. I truly believe that if you find the right company, an invisible fence can be a great product, but this company is NOT the right company. Shame on them and shame on Dave. (When I looked on their website today, I see that the training manual is no longer available for viewing. However, I have a hard copy of the manual which I had printed out.) read more
