Four of us came in for a down and dirty birthday dinner. We just felt like some "pub grub" and a few drinks. I ordered the Canadian burger and a side of sweet potato fries. Topped that up with a dry pear cider. They upcharged the fries to sweet potato for a $4 fee. A bit steep for the size. The burger was very good and the staff were attentive and friendly. We went on a Wednesday for their wings special and there were still 15 mins before happy hour ended so we were able to also get $5 snacks and happy hour drink. For wings, we ordered our usual fav - Maple Bacon Rub and I wanted something different so we also ordered Salted Caramel. I personally loved the salted caramel but Mr C prefers the maple bacon rub. Both flavours = highly recommend tho it gets messy since it's sticky but honestly - worth. the. mess. They also provide wipes for you to clean your hands so get as messy as you want! For our snack, we ordered the Hogtown Baked Riblets and it was a no for us. WAYYYYYYYYYYY too salty even with the sauce. I had one piece and couldn't have any more but Mr C managed to eat a couple more pieces so it wouldn't be wasted. Definitely won't be ordering this again unfortunately ‍ They were quite busy but the service was still excellent we sat outside as it was just perfect patio season We love Hudson's so we'll definitely be back to try out more flavours (and their pretzel bites ). read more

I've been here a few times this winter due to work putting me up close by. I'm always enticed by their super affordable happy hour specials. I've always had really great service, and the food comes out tasting fine with no major issues to report. It is a smaller chain so creativity is minimal, but anything I've ever eaten I'd have again. Great beer selection, friendly service and good specials. It's about all one could ask for close to their hotel. read more

Honestly I though I had written this review already. Working on a project in Canada and Hudsons became a regular stop on wing night. On Wing night the wings are less expensive which is good since food is more expensive in Canada on the whole. This doesn't translate into better wings though. I would say these are average with some of the sauces being downright yuk (Sweet Chili comes to mind). On the other hand the Salt and Pepper is Fab!! One night it was National Bacon week (or some other Bacon event) and I had a meatloaf and Bacon sandwich. This was also delish. You can't just get good meatloaf anywhere. So the big confession is I'm not really a beer drinker. I usually can only tolerate red beers. Don't ask me why, most other beers don't taste good to me. So being in a place like this forces me to find something suitable. I had found the Ricards Red and on the first two trips this was good selection. On trip number three however I found that they dropped this brew. Nothing else on the beer list worked for me so I was left drinking water. Not exactly what you expect in a "Tap House" but I have to assume this is result of my pickiness and not a failing of theirs. So next time I'm in the are we'll probably make a stop in it's kind of a tradition now. I'll just have to go somewhere else to get a drink. read more

I like Hudson's..the interior is quite large inside and it was quite busy..might have been because of a Rider's football game and then you know it's going to be very energetic. It's an option for a visitor staying close to three major downtown hotels within walking distance. I am so incredibly disappointed. It seems that the trend lately is for Bars to have whatever hours they choose in to change them at a moment's notice. I called ahead. I asked what time they were open until and what time does Kitchen close because I was meeting a friend at a later hour. And I know that sometimes go to the hours posted are not what is to be expected. They told me they close at midnight and the kitchen closes at 11. So when we walked in at 10:30 and they told me it was last call and the kitchen has been closed for an hour because the owner called with a stupid excuse pretending like there was renovation. Just had the poutine with bacon. Tried to charge me $12.50 for a portion size that was the size of a medium McDonald's fries with a few crumbled bits of bacon. Very salty not much flavour. I've been to Saskatoon a handful of times, and this time I decided to go out and experience a Saskatoon bar. I asked the locals where to go and they recommended Hudsons since it had a younger vibe to it. Honestly the bar scene didn't disappoint one bit. The crowd was great and the bartenders did a great job with the drinks. Food-wise I was pleased and I did enjoy the food. It's your typical bar food and there's a wide range of things to order. My coworkers loved eating here and they loved the cheap drink specials. I ended up ordering a few appetizers which included poutine, wings and frickles. The poutine was way better than Smokies poutine which is supposed to be the "best in Canada," and the sauces on the wings were some of the best I've ever had. The maple whisky BBQ and the maple bacon rub are killer! I would recommend the maple whisky BBQ if you like your wings wet. The frickles or fried pickles were good as well. The only thing I wasn't super impressed with was my "steak sandwich." Normally when I order a steak sandwich I expect something to resemble steak between slices of bread. Instead, this one came with steak on top of a piece of baguette. The steak was slightly over cooked and wasn't the usual medium rare I like. It was probably a hard medium. The clam chowder soup did hit the spot and gave me something to do with the bread! I will probably be back here again, but not just for dinner. Great place. Great service. Really enjoyed going in here, me and my friend have spent the weekend in Saskatoon and gone in here both nights we enjoyed it that much. All staff were attentive and nice, huge variety of drinks and the music was great. My only one complaint is that the coat room should be open all year round and not just in the summer so you don't have to carry it around with you especially if you want to go on to the dance floor or risk leaving it on a chair and hope it doesn't get taken. Hudson Saskatoon has really poor management and service. Last night a waitress carrying a tray of beers dropped all the drinks over everyone, in our hair, faces, clothing, and shoes. This ruined our night and in turn made us want to leave the establishment. Rather then apologizing to everyone being spilt on by the glasses being smashed on the floor, the waitress choose to run away to the back. This is really disappointing as we were visiting Saskatoon for the first time, and have been customers of Hudson's in Alberta for many years and this has never happened. This is terrible customer service for the Hudson's chain, and we are really disappointed how this was handled. Accidents do happen, but in the service industry its common sense to be apologetic and make sure the customers are satisfied. read more

Flew into Saskatoon late on a Monday and couldn't find very much open (see:nothing else) so I resorted to this. I ordered a loaded burger and fries with their discovery ale and I was not dissapointed at all. the burger was so loaded, I couldn't fit it in my mouth. Well cooked onion sticks, bacon, mushrooms, lots of lettuce, lots of pickle, perfect sized size patty. Skin on fries were great. Service was great! The Decor was not marketed towards me, and felt a little....corporate (found out later it is a chain) but I enjoyed some Curling on a big screen t.v. and I enjoyed my food. I didn't know what to expect when a friend suggested we go for drinks here, but I was pleasantly surprised. I had 2 great drinks here, one was a cherry beer with a lime slush, and the other was a great summery drink. We also shared a huge plate of nachos and I had the sliders with the cheddar beer sauce (the patty was great, the cheese sauce seemed processed and not that impressive). The service was okay.. our waitress was attentive enough, but we had about 5 waitresses come to the table when we first arrived, and when our own waitress arrived she apologized for not knowing we were there. Also, I had seen a table on the patio emptying when I arrived so I asked to be seated on the patio when I went in, then was told the patio was full. I said that I would wait since I saw a table emptying on the patio and was put on a waitlist and told it would be 15-20 min wait. It seemed strange since there didn't seem to be others waiting for a table, but I waited. 30 minutes later someone came and got me, and then led me to a table inside. I told her the whole reason I had been waiting this whole time was for a table on the patio. She apologized and took me out to the patio, to the SAME table I saw empty 30 minutes ago! So basically I waited for nothing. Then, 2 people at my table ordered bacon mac and cheese for their meals, and after everyone else got their food, finally the waitress brought them 2 hot dogs instead of 2 mac and cheeses (???). Still don't know how that happened... So, overall, it didn't seem like they were well-organized. We did have the manager (?) come over and explain the (limited) gluten-free drink options to my friend who is celiac, which was nice. She said she was gluten-free too so she could relate. BIRTHDAY PACKAGE. If you're thinking of signing up for this, DONT. It's a huge waste of time. I submitted a request and no one got back to me. Then I emailed twice and they finally did. Day came and I told the waitress about it and no one knew what it was. She had to go grab the manager and she came over and told her to just grab our drink order. On the website it says with this purchase/ reservation you can get a $12 bucket of beer, that Is what I wanted. she asked and I showed her on my phone what the website said. She then, said "just tell me what you want and I'll get it for you and do the discount after, it doesn't have to be the beer bucket". Then after receiving our drinks she had asked if we wanted to start a tab and I said no because we were going to be heading to the dance floor shortly and she gave me a dirty look and said well I'd have to get my manager back over here to get the discount so we might as well start one and I said no again. When she came back with the bill she did not give me any discount and so we paid full price. I didn't complain again because it had taken her a half hour to bring out our drinks and forgot to bring one of them and I was already very over with her being our waitress. We did not get any of the goodies that were supposed to be provided with making that reservation such as a table, Hudson's T-shirt, a $25 gift card, the bucket of beer for that matter. The fact that no one knows what it is about is annoying. What's the point of booking a reservation if no one knows it exist in the entire establishment including management. What poor service! Our server was so slow. Don't sit outside if you go - it looks like inside is served first and they forget about the outside deck people. If we didn't go in to pay we could have left as she got so distracted looking after other servers clients at the debit machine. Third time I was there and it's going down hill. The must be 8 or 9 staff serving but most hang out chatting to the off-work bartender - I am sure the owners prefer a different visiting place than around their own bar in front of customers. read more

We had my husband's birthday party at Hudson's and we were able to have the party in the events room. It was a fantastic space with plenty of room for everyone. The food was amazing! The staff went above and beyond to make the night great for us-they checked in with us frequently, got things all set up for the slideshow for us, and were so friendly and accommodating. The servers were excellent and made sure we always had a drink in our hand. We were so well taken care of there. I would highly recommend Hudson's for anyone who is wanting to host an event. We are in Saskatoon for the weekend and went to Hudson's to have a couple drinks and the Maple Bacon donuts (which are amazing by the way). We arrived about 10:30, its busy so we sit at the bar, ordered a drink and donuts. The donuts had not even arrived and we are told that they want to take our bar stools. EXCUSE ME!!! You want to take my seat at the bar away from me and I can spend the night standing at the bar? What the heck? Why? We're told they don't want to "get in the way of people's progress to get to the bar to order drinks" Again What the heck? Don't you have waitresses to get people drinks, you know for those that have chosen to not sit at the bar? I'm sitting at the bar and you want to take away my stool.........FAIL HUDSONS. FAIL! I have been at the Hudson's Tap House for numerous occasions. The service, drinks, meals, atmosphere and cleanliness are always top notch. My favorite is wings Night on Wednesdays. The wings are super tasty. Only once, on Wednesday night the service was a bit slower then usual, frankly I even didn't notice that. However, the whole table was not charged for the numerous plates of wings we ordered. The host and the server apologized for making us wait. Truly the best service, in the best tap house in Saskatoon. read more

In my view, Hudson's provides the best wings in the city, however need to go on the Wednesday Wing Night to get a fair price. As well, their steak sandwich lunch special is awesome and the price can not be beat with a top quality steak to boot. The servers are abundant, very cute, have smiles on their faces, and know their role (good customer experience). Not a big fan of their local brewed beer's on tap which brings down the rating.
