I came across Hueter's Greenhouse on social media and was immediately captivated by the photos. When a beautiful Saturday rolled around and I had zero plans, the decision made itself -- Hueter's was the destination. Getting there was super easy. GPS took me right to the entrance, and parking was plentiful and clearly marked just off the road. From the moment I arrived, it was obvious this place takes pride in its space -- the property is beautifully manicured, and everything is well laid out and easy to navigate. But let's talk about the real star of the show: The Conservatory. This is where Hueter's completely won me over. The Conservatory isn't just a greenhouse -- it's an experience. A fully curated, thoughtfully designed, houseplant-lover's dream. The plant pots aren't just stacked on shelves...they're displayed on color-coordinated tables like a home décor showroom. The plants themselves are beautifully arranged, clearly priced, and paired with care instruction signs that actually make you feel confident bringing one home. I spent nearly an hour in there just wandering, taking photos, and repeatedly saying, "Oh, that's BEAUTIFUL!" to absolutely no one. The selection was fantastic -- a great mix of plants and pots -- and the pricing felt very reasonable for the quality and presentation. They were also running an Easter egg hunt inside The Conservatory, which was a fun idea...in theory. Unfortunately, I think I arrived a little too late in the day, because I looked (and looked...and looked) and didn't find a single egg. No one else around me seemed to be having any luck either. My only suggestion would be to either restock the eggs throughout the day or remove the signage once they're all found -- just so people know whether it's still an active thing or not. Overall, though? This place is a gem. Hueter's isn't just somewhere you pop in and out of -- it's somewhere you wander. It's calm, it's beautiful, and it's very easy to lose track of time (and possibly your self-control if you're a plant person like me). I'll absolutely be back. There are already a few plants from this visit sitting firmly on my "you're coming home with me next time" list... and honestly, it's only a matter of time. read more

This is one of the most beautiful places in York! I am girl that loves plants and it doesn't matter the time of year this place is always stunning. There is something so peaceful about taking a stroll through the conservatory. I always come home with a new little plant. Can't wait to hopefully join one of the dinners inside the Conservatory one of these days. It is a breathtaking venue for a small romantic wedding or any small intimate event. Great variety of houseplants that is open year round, always has great seasonal product tons of options in the spring, mums, pumpkins, hay, corn, wreaths and roping and wreath decorating in the winter. Also love the rental spaces and seasonal handmade vendor markets! read more

I'm not sure if this type of post is allowed, feel free to remove if it breaks the rules. If you shop at Heuters on Deininger Road for your houseplants, I would look elsewhere if I were you. They have two rabbits who are being horribly mistreated. They live outside in tiny travel sized cages and are not provided with food sufficient for their survival. They are usually also out of water, as the staff says that they cannot check on them more than once a day. When I spoke to the owner they made it clear that they are doing 'the best they can'. Unfortunately 'the best they can' will quickly kill these animals. Please, if you have the choice, shop somewhere else for your plants. read more

I went on a Sunday and the place was relatively busy. They have several greenhouses to walk through. A decent selection of perennials, annuals, veggies and herbs as well. Prices weren't bad. read more
