This is such a nice dog park. There is a large open grassy space for play and a shaded area with benches to sit. There is a paved walk around the grassy area as well so dogs and pet parents alike can get their steps in. The park does have a very tiny "small dog area" if needed, but our small dog was happy out playing with the big boys. The days we visited were very warm and many of the dogs were enjoying a dip in the pond area. There is plenty of parking and restrooms and it seems like the park is still under construction and there will be more to come. read more

I have been visiting this dog park every summer for the last three years. It is, without a doubt, the best off-leash dog park in this part of the state. The park has been open since 2009, and the mission statement of W.A.G. (Whitefish Animal Group) is to promote responsible dog ownership and the establishment of safe, legal off-leash dog parks for the Whitefish area. Although some parts of Montana have multiple dog parks (like Bozeman) this is the only one in the entire Flathead Valley. It provides an attractive and safe environment for having your dogs off-leash. There is a walking path, lots of bag stations, a dog (and people) water fountain, and a covered area with seating. There is even a separate dog run for smaller dogs and/or their possibly nervous owners. Or as they put it, "Hugh Rogers Wag Park now has a complete small dog area, twenty five shade trees, six freestanding six-foot benches on large concrete pads, a completed one-third loop mile accessible asphalt path, a greatly enhanced pavilion area, and a permanent obstacle course". The park is in a nice location on the east end of Whitefish, just south of the train tracks. Construction of a swimming pond for the dogs is in progress. The people and dogs I have met at the park have been unfailingly friendly. read more

This place is puppy's dream! It is huge! We went a few weeks ago and there was a lot of snow but luckily there were other puppies there. Always a risk going to a dog park as you don't know who will be there but this place didn't disappoint for our two visits: well behaved puppies that didn't bully and everyone played really well. I travel a lot and have been all over the country and been at many dog parks. There could be better, but I have not found one. This park has it all. Lots of dog bags. Large and small dog area. Grass everywhere and not just dirt. A stream in main park and separate pond area for dogs. Two dog wash fire hydrants to hose them off. Very clean and well maintained. My only advice is please take down the SCAMdemic warnings telling to not pet other people's dogs and to social distance and all that nonsense. It's a DOG PARK !It's outside in the sun ! And how dare you threaten to close a public place down if it gets too crowded ! That park doesn't belong to you, City Council of Whitefish ! It belongs to the taxpayers of the town ! Get over yourselves and get a clue ! That being said thank you from myself and my two pups ! read more

We travel cross country and this is one of our favorite dog parks. Separate area for dogs who like to swim, and a separate area for small dogs. It's a nice size, not just a fenced in corner. Nice and clean with doggie bags. read more

I love Whitefish and love it even more after taking my two Doodles for hours of fun. Seriously, I was blown away by this park - it is fantastic for dogs and for all dog lovers. My pups had a blast playing in the pond with several other friendly dogs of all shapes and sizes. I enjoyed the incredible views of the mountains and of the hang gliders landing close by. An added bonus is the walking path around the park and plenty of benches and huge boulders for pet parents to hang out on. There were even two 80+ years young women in the park who came out to play ball with the dogs, even though they don't have their own pups! Wonderful day at the park! read more

This is canine paradise. Clean. Manicured with multiple fenced areas, a creek and a large pond. This place is for real. There's a great path around the edge for humans. Coming "back" to the valley after living a year in Phoenix. We got used to having a dog park every couple of miles and were very happy to hear that their is one in the valley. We have a Golden Doodle that loves water and will be using the newly added swimming pond every chance she gets! read more

This is a premier dog park. It has an agility course, 5 acres of fenced fun, a fenced small dog area, benches, trees, a dog and human water fountain, a pavilion to get out of the sun or rain, paved walking path, and soon will be a dog beach and pond. read more

This park is ridiculous. It's huge, has amazing amenties--dog pool, agility features. We stopped here on road trip from California and came back the next day. Our dog LOVED it and wore himself out. This is the best park we've seen on long road trip. read more
