Meeting Dr. Pahl back in 2010, when he helped me with my first back surgery. He was patient and understanding when talking to me about all my concerns regarding surgery/recovery. By the way, surgery went great! Having to have follow up surgery traveled back from Japan, the office was great with arrangements to fit on the schudle. I'm giving 2 stars only because the staff (outside of financial services) are friendly and helpful. Dr. Ricci was helpful and provided good service. However, their billing department is predatory. I paid each of my copayments when I attended my appointments; however, they keep billing me for my copayments after the insurance says what my portion is. They do not apply your payments to your account! Despite sharing with their billing department that I paid my copayments, they still say I owe. I have even sent over my credit card statements that shows that I paid my copayments on the dates they are saying I did not. DO NOT go here! Go somewhere else! I went to the ER with a thumb injury. X-ray results showed a fracture and damaged ligaments. The doctor referred me to Dr Rehak at Hughston Clinic. The soonest appt was a week and a half after my injury. I got a call the day before my appt telling me my appt had to be rescheduled because of a scheduling conflict. They had no available appointments until 3 weeks later although I questioned if it would be ok to wait that long with my injuries. Well... It happened again. 3 days before my appt I received a phone call that my appt had to be rescheduled because of a scheduling conflict. I had endured the pain for an entire month and was not waiting any longer. I called Dr Blake at Columbus Hand Institute, got an appt that same day. I was in and out and highly satisfied with the care I received. Anyone looking for a good hand doctor, I highly recommend Columbus Hand Institute. If I needed anything to orthopedic care in the future, I will definitely not depend on Hughston Clinic! read more

Hughston Clinic in Columbus, GA is a humiliating experience, a monopoly, and a healthcare scam mill. On hold over 15 minutes for 6 calls over 3 business days to schedule appointment. No one ever answered. Had to visit facility, then use telephone in waiting lobby to schedule appointment, on hold about 10 minutes. Everyone in the lobby now has my personal information. Can't make appointments at check in desk. Completed online paperwork. 15 minutes early to appointment, Another form to complete not included in online stack. It's a Military Tricare form not needed unless Tricare has a question. Hughston requires it as a matter of convenience for them or denied medical services. Also, driver license required or denied medical services even though there is no law requiring anyone anywhere to have a driver license ever. Intake included asking / verifying the same questions on the online paperwork forms. Said the online forms info doesn't transfer to her computer but she certainly had some updated info she wouldn't have otherwise had. Hmmm. Dr about 45 minutes late to appointment. Viewed xray, says he doesn't see anything and suggests mri. Could have done that without me showing up. Hughston has a monopoly on orthopedic dr's in columbus ga. Advise going elsewhere if possible. read more

Certain doctors double and triple book appointments so patient's have extremely long wait times. My appointment was at 3pm it's now 11 after 4 and just getting into a room. It's now 4:40 still no Dr. They actually canceled 30 minutes before my appointment because I wasn't there. 30 minutes early! My time is just as important as the doctors! Where should I send the invoice for my wasted time? If drs were charged late fees like they try to charge us they would do better! read more

The lady name Tammy at the Hughston MRI/Diagnostic area is rude. Extremely rude to the point where she did not either want to give information on urgent ortho or she was not knowledgeabl. Absolutely awful experience. I will never go back. I feel like I need to go get a COVID-19 test after spending an hour in this place. First we're in the midst of a pandemic where by governor's order (in one of the most lenient states in the country) restaurant staff must ALL wear masks, including food delivery people. Yet at Hughston Clinic (Columbus, GA location) some of the *medical* staff in the back are running around maskless. They don't require patients to wear masks like St. Francis does (was just there recently for a doc appointment, and it was much better.) So I had to wait in a waiting room where maybe 30% of the patients didn't have masks on. A guy in a "MAGA" hat showed up -- no mask, of course -- while I was waiting. He got all up in my space as I tried to stay on the side of the waiting room that didn't have maskless people in it. One of the receptionists was "wearing" a mask that was pushed down below her nose and mouth and she told me she couldn't promise that the nurses and docs would be wearing masks. I talked with the other receptionist to try to address the issue with her and she called to the back to ask if they were wearing masks. Fortunately the doctor and nurses who dealt with me were wearing masks (I told the receptionist I'd walk out if they weren't) but I saw a number of people in medical scrubs running around with no mask, presumably filling the air with their breath and saliva particles. I'm seriously considering getting a COVID-19 test in a day or two. I would think a medical establishment would respect science and require masks, but apparently not. I know of someone else in Columbus who complained about their showing FOX News in the waiting room and was told it was on the TVs by "order from above." Based on that and my experience, I'm guessing they decided to follow the lead of certain reckless/clueless politicians who have politicized masks, which should NOT be political. Masks are a public health measure and a simple courtesy to protect others from your spit/saliva particles that are being ejected six feet into the air around you when you don't wear a mask. There is no excuse for medical professionals not to wear them, and no excuse for a medical facility to not require patients to wear them in the building. My doctor's appointment was very quick and just OK. I didn't feel super confident and feel like I need to seek a second opinion. I was told this doctor is "fast" and he certainly was. He spent about five minutes with me, and at least 10 other people in the waiting room were there to see him too, so I guess he does a brisk business. He also seemed tired. The doctor told to make an appointment with one of their physical therapists, but I walked right out the front door as fast as I could. I'll make an appointment at St. Francis instead. I am amazed how good this large organization is run! From the front desk to the Doctors everyone is great! I know sometimes the schedule may get slowed down, but I think it's because the doctors take as much time as needed with each patient. This is not a Resturant trying to turn tables as fast as possible! Everyone is sincerely concerned about their patients. The Hughston clinic is the absolute reason that medical costs are outrageous and unaffordable in the United States. This place is the definition of insurance fraud. I went in for an initial examination and was assigned to Dr. David Rehak. The highlight of my 3 minute examination, yes I looked at my watch, was that I seemed to be a nuisance to him by being there. He was curt, unprofessional and rude. Apparently his schedule was so busy he didn't have the 3 seconds it would have taken to look down at my chart and learn my name. With his bedside manner he would be better suited to be an undertaker. I was then assigned a physical therapist for a finger injury and she worked with me for 45 minutes. She was nice enough and I'm sure she is not involved with the billing process, however I was billed $410 for the visit, almost $10 per minute. On top of which they charged me $70 for a little spring to put on my finger that could not have cost more than $1 to make. This is fraud pure and simple. Don't wast your time confirming if they take your insurance because I have Blue Cross Blue Shield and they said "or sure, we accept that, it will cover everything ".... well guess what. read more

This used to be a top notch facility. They no longer have anyone to answer their main phone and don't return voicemail message. I had to walk in to make an appointment then they cancelled by email the day before. I am a long time patient just requested my medical records moving on. Had follow up apt with Dr Watson after ankle surgery. Front office was rude and belligerent. The had confirmed insurance the day before by phone. I confirmed this with my insurance after I got home. They refused to let me see my doctor. Not a question of payment. They had my cc info I have transferred my case to St Francis ortho as they are a very professional group Not only was this unethical. I was scheduled for surgery in Dec. about two weeks prior to my surgery, i received an email with my expected cost after my insurance. I was prepared and fine with the estimate, close to $600. ON the morning of my surgery (5:30am) when checking in I was then told I had to pay close to $6800 after my insurance. Say what??!! I was trapped and had no choice but to pay because my surgery was at the end of the year and I didnt want to pay another deductible since i have already had another prior surgery. I am waiting now for the claim to be processed and try to get my money back because there is no way I owed that much. read more

Kissimmee, Florida location. Terrible customer service. I called and asked to make a new patient apt and was placed on hold for over 15 minutes. They picked up and had no clue why I was on hold. During the scheduling process I told them my ankle and knee needed to be treated and they told me the doctor would only see me for 1 area not both. What kind of physician will see you for only 1 orthopedic issue? Never in my life have I heard of this before, I have worked in the medical field for over 15 years! I've been using the Physicians at Hughston clinic since 2007. Have had back surgery, 2 total knee replacements and shoulder reconstruction. I've never had any post-op issues. Wouldn't think of going elsewhere. Physicians are specialists, and the staff has always treated me respect and friendliness. read more

This place is so bad for appointment times. If you have a morning appt, go ahead and take the day off. We went in for a 10:45 appt, we were there at 10:35 and wasn't seen until 1:30. This is not acceptable. When the Dr came in the room, finally, he spent 1 minute telling us we needed to come back to see a different dr. He could've called to tell us this instead having us drive 45 minutes, take that much time off work to wait for that. There was no reason to be seen that day. We got home around 3:00 pm. The clinic and physicians are fine. It is the billing office that is harassing me for money that I do not owe them. In fact, it is because of their inability to pay attention to detail that they billed the my personal insurance instead of Workmen's Comp. I have called repeatedly to inform the billing office, and I believe that whoever this person is, took offense to her billing mistake and is now harassing me for payment instead of taking responsibility for the error on their behalf.They erroneously charged my personal insurance for a work injury. read more
