Move took about three hours and cost around $900. The crew took a break on the clock, adding over $60 to the bill. They broke multiple items, including an entire box of wrapped, clearly labeled FRAGILE plates and bowls, plus a sentimental cookie jar, and also damaged our walls. When we raised concerns, they initially said nothing could be done. After asking what resolution we wanted, we gave a reasonable request -- and they stopped responding. Very disappointing. It started bad and did not get better, only worse to the level they broke a lamp and took the details and have not called back. Expensive! Agent has no public or customer service. A great quality is they ONLY 1 ITEM! This not a company that you can call to move your household belongings. You will have to have one of your own vehicles to transport, half full cans of paint due to potential explosion. No half full oil containers, no containers that hold fluid (Unless the customer packed it and staff agree to let it pass inspection) Also tool boxes, laundry detergent, windshield washer fluid. - Very BLUNT customer service, only complaints about their customers and how bad they were. - in initial review by their agent prior to booking the move, every second word seemed like, "We cannot take that, you will have to take that in your own vehicle." - I asked them if they move anything as I called a moving company to help me relocate from 'the sticks' into Vernon. read more

I have never met a more rude, confrontational, angry man in my life. He became almost deranged when questioned about the length of time that the elevator was being tied up. I believe the conversation started by telling him that there are many elderly people living in this building who have trouble with stairs. He is such an irrational, angry person I would never trust him if I were to need a mover. When I finally got to our apartment on the 4th floor I found out that he had treated my daughter and young grandson in the same manner. I hope I never come in contact with a person like him again, he certainly needs to take some lessons in diplomacy. Worst customer service. Ignored complaints about damage for weeks. Then lied and tried to blam us. Changed story repeatedly. Not proper moving equipment for job. Rude, ignorant and lied. Poor work ethic. Do not use this company Please publish your multiple attempts to respond to my complaint between Nov 19 and Dec 4th. The phone calls you said you made. Those are just one of the lies I refer to. Please publish your three different excuses you gave us as to how the tub was damaged. Please publish where dan said he would move the tub alone. If he could move it alone we would not have needed to hire your inadequate service. Please publish your proof , I would love to see it yes I signed the form in the dark. The damage is on the underside corner. It was not noticed until we were hooking it up to power and had the skirt off. As stated in my immediate email with picture to Hugo's moving. Just unpacking from our move in 2018. The move was eventful to say the least. Amanda and her puppy dog like sidekick were decent during the walk through for the quote. The cost was expensive considering their limited abilities. The first day was hard to watch, it was like a pack of dirty, hungry frat boys were dropped off hungover and told to do manual labour. They mostly managed to stay on task, stopping at times to stare blankly into space until they remembered they were there to pack things up. The music was unacceptable but they turned it off when I asked them. They did go to the bathroom and not wash their hands which was unpleasant. After the first day ended, much to my relief, we surveyed the seen, and would give the crew about a 3 for effort. We rearranged the sea can more efficiently and went to bed. The next day a very out of shape, pathetic chub showed up who said his name was Kyle Delfing and he was very proud that he was going to be in a parade for the PPC party (which he failed miserably at that election as did Maxime Bernier). Long story short he was accompanied by the puppy dog like character who had been with Amanda during the quote walk through. Kyle spent the next hour berating and insulting this poor chaps every effort so intensely that I phoned Amanda to enquire if he was actually the owner and not some random frat boy they had picked up that morning on the side of the road. The morning ended with me having to call 911 to have Kyle removed from our property. When Amanda called him to let him know I had called her and he needed to calm down and stop acting insane, he told her to beep beep beep beep diddle do diddle de beep off. After that lively and very dysfunctional exchange, he announced he was not going to be moving us anymore and then threw our belongings onto our driveway damaging some of them. Small price to pay to get a deranged individual to leave. But then he decided that he would stand and yell and ask my husband (who is a black belt Tae Kwon Do and could have dropped kicked his chubby bum into the street) to fight! Then he announced that we must be in support of the Green Party or the NDP because we didn't know how to move ourselves. It was so bizarre, outrageous and intensely sad that we just looked at him, then my husband told him he needed to remove himself from the property, which Kyle obeyed and retreated to the sidewalk. Now, all the while the puppy dog like "employee" was so frightened, that he had ran into the house and started collecting moving blankets to hide under. I found him inside and told him that he didn't have to be treated this way, and could make something of himself, as I had witnessed him trying his best. He was just so frail and probably trying desperately to nourish himself with Kraft Dinner everyday, it was such a troubling and sorrowful situation to witness. Meanwhile Kyle was busily pacing and yelling from the sidewalk about his manhood much to the neighbourhoods dismay. After hearing the sirens Kyles bravery suddenly faded and he jumped in his truck, along with the puppy dog like character and drove away. The policeman informed me that he could see the Hugo's Moving Truck coming down the road and since he had left our property he was going to follow him. I was later told by the police officer that Kyle hastily drove to his office at the Stor-it Place, ran inside and locked himself in. Amanda later appeared and told the police officer he would have to call Kyle before speeding off in her car. She later came to our home and asked me to please not make things worse for her as he was very difficult to be with but nevertheless she was resigned to the fact that he was her "significant other", even if he was less than desirable. I felt much concern for her, but decided that part of this situation was really non of my affair. We finished our move successfully and much more effectual. Our items have been in storage ever since as we built our home. To summarize I would rate my overall experience with Hugo's Moving a minus infinity. Kyle is in my experience with him, unstable and unprofessional, to say it as nicely as possible. Amanda is regretful, but resigned to her position in life and the puppy dog like character could be anywhere at this point. Whenever we are in need of a good laugh we watch the horrendous episode, "When good moves go bad, a reflection on hiring Hugo's Moving" on our Ring camera where this entire debacle was captured. Hiring Hugo's Moving $$$, watching Kyle meltdown on your driveway...underwhelming, capturing it all on video...priceless. read more

I'm afraid I cannot recommend this company. We hired them to move our things locally and the crew they sent over were not quite up for the task. There was a fair bit of arguing between the crew about how to load the truck, and at one point I watched in frustration as they unloaded half the items from the truck to repack it. It was a fairly excruciating process for everyone involved. They guys were polite, but they didn't really seem to know who was in charge and what the game plan should be. read more

I used Hugo's Moving in June of 2019, and they were FANTASTIC. The were very professional, fast, at that time I think I gave them 5 stars and had recommended them to several people. My sister asked just recently who we used to move and I told her all about how Hugo's went above and beyond and how professional they were, so she booked them for her move in April 2020. My sister just finished her move on Saturday, so I asked her things went. Well apparently I should not have asked .... things went terrible for her. They were less than professional, it was the owner himself that moved her. She said he was very fowl mouthed and was swearing at her (my sister) and her daughter and was very argumentative, he was very slow (it took 8 hours to move across town - the crew we had took 3 hours) there is LOTS of damage, and missing stuff because he felt it necessary to take EVERY apart. My sister was finding parts and pieces in the driveway of her old house and the new house. The took stuff from the old house that should have stayed and left stuff that should have gone. My sister had to pay people the next day for move the stuff Hugo's left behind. read more

This is an awesome mover, I have used this mover for a second time moving from Kelowna to Victoria. The first move was for moving my son's gears to Victoria. Kyle is really awesome and the move was carried out very smoothly. I have used numerous movers in my life as I have moved from many countries to countries and multiple moves within a country. I would say that this is the best mover so far I met. As Kyle and his team are very accommodating and did their job in a fast and efficient fashion. You see, I have several degrees from several countries notably from New Zealand and Australia and have lived and worked in NZ, Australia, and several African and Asian countries. That's explain why I have moved multiple places and have used numerous movers. I fully recommended this mover. I salute this mover and he has no equals probably in the world. read more

Terrible service. Multiple pieces of furniture and appliances damaged. Hugo's refused to answer any of our calls or emails when we requested help in how to proceed with damage claims. Hugo's advertised that they were fully insured for big and small damages. They refuse to take responsibility for dropping our fridge when one of the movers slipped on their truck ramp. My wife was there when this happened. Amanda of Hugo's said the damage was our fault because we failed to have clear walkways as it was snowing. This is untrue. We shovelled and salted the entrance and it was Hugo's that did not clear their own truck ramp of snow. They are now denying they are responsible and that they do not have to repair or replace any of our damaged items. I would not recommend them to anyone. read more

I could not recommend this company enough. The two individuals who were present for the job, Ian and Richard, went above and beyond the call of duty. They took care in their work, including the use of wrapping blankets on walls and putting down runners for moving things out of the house (which not all companies will do), were unfailingly polite, and kept a near constant running pace the whole time. This company is not in the business of trying to make the job last longer than it has to, and I sincerely appreciated both this effort and their manners to my family. They moved each piece, under the direction of my wife, and did so with good humor. These guys unpacked the stuff and moved it into my new house with the same strong work ethic. On that point, I'd like to mention (please see pictures on their website) that they wrapped each individual piece of furniture for their moving truck and could readily identify the pieces as we moved them off, even sometimes remembering which room I said they would go in. This moving company is amazing! They were honest, extremely hard working, and super efficient. They packed up my oversized 4 bedroom house in my 26ft uhaul truck with space left over, and nothing got damaged. Also they came to my rescue the day of my move after another moving company I booked did not show up! If I move again I am definitely calling Hugo's moving, these guys are truly A class! read more
