SCAM ALERT - I'm not sure what is going on here but I signed up for monthly cleanings. They did not show up for the first cleaning so I called and texted but never got a reply. I assumed I did something wrong so I hired someone else. I then kept getting email alerts that my next cleaning was coming up so, again, I left a voicemail AND texted to get a confirmation and, again, no one showed up. Now I worry because my credit card is on file. Scam or wildly unprofessional? You decide. Btw, they haven't charged me so that is a plus. read more

We hired Hula Maids for a move in/out inspection. At first everything looked great until we were about to put things away in our kitchen. I noticed that the outside of the cabinets in the kitchen were not wiped down, could still see dirt that was there before the cleaning. Then upon opening drawers and cabinets in the kitchen, I noticed a sticky residue that I easily wiped up myself using a Clorox wipe. Then we noticed dirt and bugs that were there before the cleaning. Every single cabinet and drawer in the kitchen had some sort of orange residue that came off when we wiped it which showed us they were not thoroughly wiped. I sent the owner an email and after sending the email, I rechecked the bathroom and noticed sequins and dirt that were there from the previous tenants. Rado and his team just left my house all of half an hour ago. They were three people and armed with commercial grade equipment, an array of cleaning supplies ranging from organic and green grade to more traditional. I have two children and a dog so I specifically requested the NON-organic, because I believe that is what currently suits and cleans my house best. I must say, I think when hiring any cleaning service it's really important to have reasonable expectations (often times the first cleaning should be booked as a deep cleaning, if not do not expect a deep cleaning in place of a normal one), provide a stressless working environment for said cleaning service but to also set them up for success (do minor decluttering of surface areas and pick up any obstacles like toys). By doing this, you're ensuring that the crew can focus on important cleaning tasks rather than spending time on the mundane. I did just this the previous evening and in turn, the team polished all three shower doors to perfection; Rado really did a spectacular job on the kitchen - all the appliances are like mirrors now; the stovetop and microwave are the cleanest they've been in a long time and the entire house was thoroughly vacuumed and mopped. They were super friendly to my dog and children - my preference is to usually give cleaning crews space and to leave the house entirely but it was simply too hot to take the kids and dog out today. Nonetheless, they worked around us cordially and efficiently. After the crew left, I gave my dog a treat for being such a good boy, in turn he made a small mess on the floor that I instantly went to wipe up - the swifter pad remained clean, they vacuumed and mopped so well. I'm very happy with the end result. My entire house smells clean, feels clean and I get to be excited to have guests in town! Thank you Rado and ladies, see you again soon! read more

Horrendous. But before I begin, let me say with 100% certainty that the shady owner of this business, Rado Szittyai, will issue a nasty, pseudo-logical bullying response to my review attempting to justify charging $275 for 2 hours of lackluster housecleaning. Yes, 2 people came. Ok, so it was 4 man hours, there Rado, you win. Can I ask, where in the world does housecleaning cost $68 an hour? How did I come to 68, you say? Well, firstly, I'm not paying for your commute, as you suggested when I first protested this charge. So, $68 an hour I paid you to clean. How I arrived at that number is 275 (the dollar amount you charged me) divided by 4 (the number of combined hours you and your bro spent cleaning my house, rounded up). I look forward to seeing how you justify that. I live in a 350sq foot studio. I booked a deep clean online through their snazzy booking system. I call to confirm over the phone and Rado assures me that 3 people will come and do a minimum of 3 hours of cleaning. I'm expecting a DEEP clean. (I'm guessing in his rebuttal below, Rado will tell me how my studio was so terribly dirty, that a deep clean was impossible) After arriving nearly 2 hours late, Rado and his buddy are here to clean. I thought 3 people were coming? Oh, they had to turn around and go do another job he yaps back. Then Rado tells me they don't do windows, fridge or stove, and if I have dishes in the sink they set them aside, clean sink, and put dirty dishes back in. Uhhh.... This is a deep clean right? Fine, he'll do me a favor and do the windows and dishes but definitely not fridge or stove. So I leave the house to run errands, expecting to return in a few hours to an amazing sparkling house. Not 2 hours later, I get a call that they're ready to leave. I zoom home to find Rado and buddy all packed up, my house smelling of citrusy something and looking pretty good to the naked eye. Rado confidently tells me that my studio is easy to clean and next time they'll do it for $120. So why was it $275 today, I ask. Oh! Because it's the first time and I wanted a 'deep' clean. A freaking 2 hour $275 deep clean. I see. They dash out, and as I start to look around I notice that the dish washing favor consisted of failing to rinse soap off dishes. So I immediately rewash everything. Then I notice that only half the slider door was cleaned. Then, gunk in the corners of the kitchen and bathroom, as if everything was literally swept into a corner. Please see pics attached! Now, the half assed cleaning job wouldn't be so bad if this business were professionally run. But when I contacted Rado to ask for a partial refund, the sexist power play came out. Weed through the fake reviews and you'll find a similarly horrendous account from 8 months ago by Sam K. I tell Rado that I'm obviously not the only dissatisfied customer and ask him please to do what's right. His response? "Haha yep, she was just your type too". This guy Rado and his pseudo-cleaning scam is sick. Do NOT use Hulamaids. If this is how he treats his customers, I can't even begin to imagine how he treats his supposedly all-female staff. I booked Hula Maids to do an end of the lease cleaning for our large rental house located in a very dusty area of Kihei and the whole experience couldn't been any more pleasant.  Booking your appointment on their site is a cinch, they will send you text message appointment reminders before the cleaning and they show up on time and do an amazing work.  Four people team showed up 15 minutes early and they were finished in less than 4 hours. The owner even returned the next day to do a walk-through with our landlord, who couldn't find a single thing to correct.  Needles to say, we got our entire security deposit back and I really can't recommend these guys enough. read more

I am looking forward to my every 2 weeks with Hula Maids. After being with Rado for a period of time I found that things run smoothly unless you question the work. Holy wow. Hula Maids was seriously outstanding! We were in a hurry to move out of our apartment and booked a move-out cleaning for our 2 bedroom apartment in Kihei, which included cleaning of the refrigerator and oven and a ton of other extras. They not only did a fantastic job (we got all of our deposit money back), but the customer service and booking was straightforward and modern, which, let me tell you, is rare on Maui. We went on their website and requested a quote. We we're quoted at $600+-, for our home which we told them the square footage was 2700. It was scheduled for a deep clean Wednesday morning at 8:30am. When they arrived the owner asked me if I was the one that had family in town. I said yes. I let him into the home and went back to painting the fruit stand. He came out about 15 minutes and said the house had one extra room, that the home was much larger than they expected. I said the home is 2700 square feet as we represented online. He said it didn't matter. He started saying they would need to clean the windows and tracks. I told him actually we have a window company coming out to complete that process. He said that did not matter either. He told me I had two options option A, to pay them $300 more for the service, or option B, they would do the best they could. Lol. who says that? I thought to myself, what about the option where you quote someone to do the work and then actually follow through with what was promised. He knew we had family coming into town and that we would most likely pay the extra money. Then he said or option 3..... We bail. I said we may need to do that. Without hesitation they packed up and left. I couldn't recommend this company to anyone. They will try and upsell you once they arrive. I haven't seen their work just the first interaction we had with this company was terrible. We had plans today, and had already scheduled with this company. Not only did they screw those plans up but they made it impossible to get our home cleaned before company arrived. If I could rate this company negative stars I would. The service, attention to detail, and kind hearted people that I have interacted with the several times I have used HULA MAIDS has been INCREDIBLE, truly note worthy! I have had both cleanings as well as utilized them for my move-out cleaning. The website is quick and easy to use, the "chat now" is always available and extremely helpful. Flexible with scheduling, and offers suggestions of services to best fit your needs. The service itself has an immaculate attention to detail. They even went as far as pulling out my refrigerator to ensure the area behind the fridge was cleaned. Extremely thorough work. I had friends over shortly after who seriously stood looking at my shower repeating "I have never seen a shower this clean, I have never seen a shower this clean!" hehee The Hula Maids team is friendly and warm and very knowledgeable. I've had Hula Maids clean our 3BR home every other week for several months now, and I am totally pleased with their service. They have been diligent, professional, efficient, and thorough. I like the fact that their pricing structure is transparent and based on flat fees, so you know in advance what you will be paying. If any adjustments are needed, or they are running late, they are very good about communicating with you. I also just had them do a deep clean on my 1BR ohana, which has been unoccupied since August. It now looks 100% better than it did after it was "cleaned" by the prior owner before we bought the place. I've read the negative reviews. They don't jive with my experience. For the most part, they seem to be the result of a mismatch between the person's uncommunicated expectations and what Hula Maids actually includes in their service. Hula maids is the best on the island. They have easy online booking with approximate pricing so you get a idea of the cost, but be sure to book them at least 2 weeks in advance. They showed up on time and got right to business. Hula maids cleaned every little nook and cranny of our small cottage after moving out and the place looks spectacular! Worst possible experience. Avoid this company at all costs! We paid this company $500 for a 750 sq foot apartment in Villas at Kenolio. They did such a bad job that our landlord said it would have to be completely redone. They also broke one of our brand new blinds while cleaning.. Contacted the company and were told by Rado that they would not come back out and do ANYTHING to fix it.. nothing and they would not pay for the blinds they broke. Our landlord from Maui Tropical Realty told us another one of her tenants was ripped off by this company as well. She decided to try to call him and reason with him and he told her again he wouldn't raise a finger to fix it and would not refund us a cent of our $500, he was rude to her and hung up on her. If you want to talk to our property manager she will tell you herself to avoid this company at all costs, message me I'll give you her number. Owner Rado has no aloha and no integrity. Horrible!!!! Very disappointing! After several issues, the worst being how I was treated when I kindly addressed the problems with the owner: 1.) Broken vase (hidden and left for me to find) 2.) Master Bedroom rug being left outside on the lanai, uncleaned, crumpled in a ball on the ground 3.) The company leaving a patio door open-after being on the phone with me telling me they were leaving and had closed all the doors 4.) An entire area of the living room left unclean 5.) Charged an additional $57 on top of the original $335 I paid because I canceled future cleanings (I lost my discount)! 6.) One medicine cabinet of five "cleaned" and completely gone through and altered.... I politely addressed my concerns with the owner about a week after the cleaning after finding the broken vase. Not asking for a refund, not asking for anything at all, just expressing my concerns with all of the issues (wouldn't you want to know your customer had some)?? I was told it was my fault for not being home when they left to inspect their work, my house was too dirty (I paid for a deep clean and was told upon arrival how clean my home was), they didn't have enough man power and had another job to get to. Not once were any of my issues addressed or handled professionally. I felt attacked. Each response from the owner was insulting and I told him how disappointed I was in the way I was being treated and that I would not recommend his company. He accused me of blackmail, which I find very disturbing. The cleaning, for the most part was pretty good, there were some areas that were done very well, I'll give them that. Definitely not worth the cost. The customer service was the worst I've experienced from a business on Maui. Beyond disappointed in the experience, how my home was left, and ultimately how I was treated by the business afterwards. Yes I was offered a reclean in the value of $150. He also offered to pay for the vase that was broken, after mocking it "And all of sudden your vase become a priceless heirloom overnight?"....I declined a reclean, as I stated it would be very uncomfortable for me to have the business in my home again. Furthermore, the issues I addressed were not a matter of getting free business, they were legitimate concerns. As far as the vase, it is a family vase, and I was not after a price for it. I would recommend using a better cleaning company who values the people they work with, and not just the $$$. read more

Their incredible attention to detail, their timeliness, and ability to accommodate my busy family schedule is noteworthy. I also truly appreciate my ability to book online, receive reminders for the next cleaning and quick return phone calls or emails when I have questions. It is remarkable (as one other reviewer noted) how quickly they can complete a 3BR/2BR 1500sq ft home in under 3 hours and I always enjoy coming home to such a wonderfully clean smelling house! I have only positive things to say about Hula Maids. Rado and his team were amazing. They came out (on time!) and cleaned our house and were done within a couple of hours. Each person took a room/bathroom and then came together to finish the general areas and floors. They brought all their own supplies, rags and solutions and were very efficient. They scrubbed everything down thoroughly, and put everything back where it was when they were done. At the last minute we added on the "deep clean" as an extra and they had no problem accommodating. They even cleaned the ceiling fans, the blinds, light fixtures, etc. So wonderful!! They were all so friendly and trustworthy and very receptive to anything that was asked of them (extras). And the owner, Rado, was very courteous and professional and worked right alongside his employees, cleaning diligently. He was very positive and I could hear him telling them what a great job they were doing. And the house was spotless when they left. They did a great job, worth every penny. I really appreciated how thoughtful the cleaning team was and how careful they were with moving items to clean around and under them. The team was on time - a plus on Maui, easy to talk to, and friendly. They were quick and detailed, and cleaned areas I would not have thought of cleaning. The time before this I had cleaners come to my place, years ago, it was so traumatic - they missed cleaning the ceiling fans and also took something that didn't belong to them, so I have been reluctant to use cleaners since. unfortunately my experience with Hula Maids was totally frustrating. I called them and had what I thought was the manager walk me through the ordering process. After explaining I had a 2 bdrm 2 bath that tenants just vacated, He instructed me to choose the exit clean for my 2 bdrm , 2 bath unit. Finding a phone number for them requires you to be on this yelp site. their web site does not provide one. So, I emailed, texted to tell them of a code change for entry requesting confirmation that they got it so they could enter the home . that requested confirmation never came although when I finally got them on the phone again he said he had the info. We were in an area that did not have cell service the day or the cleaning. The crew went out there and upended all the furniture, left tv' on the bed, chairs piled up linens balle dup on the floor, and not one piece of furniture cleaned or dusted. It looked like a blooming disaster . For this they chaged $369 and left the AC running when they departed. A leak developed from the AC and when the new person I hired to put things back in order arrived she found a flood on the floor. the tenants that just left did not leave the AC on. He wanted another $120 dollars to put back the furniture, never mind make the unit ready for occupancy. the small outside deck was not cleaned and was visibly very dirty. The linens were all piled up on the floor.. Perhaps if you have a unit that is stripped to the walls they can do their thing. I would never have done this to a client requiring more work than when they first arrived. read more

The Owner Rado Szittyao Is HORRIBLE. He canceled all of my cleanings. Without a phone call. I had my guest call me with complaints that the unit is dirty. I called the owner Rado on two different phone numbers a text and email. He finally called but to let me know he canceled me. Because he said I was to difficult to deal with. Because He charge me 190.00 and didn't clean the unit after my last guest. And I told him there wouldn't be anyone there for a month. But there was a change of plans and we ended up with a guest arriving in that month. And that was when we found out that he charged my credit card for the 190.00 Without cleaning the unit yet because he thought he had a month to clean . So Call me difficult if I expect to get what I was charged for!!!!!. So it was a blessing that we had a surprise guest show up otherwise we would of never known that they were not cleaning and just charging us. I asked him why he didn't have the curtesy to call me and let me know he canceled all my appointments . He Said " because I don't have to" and hung up on me.. PLEASE do yourself a Favor- RUN from HULA MAIDS..... RUNS as FAST as you can....... DO NOT USE THEM.... HORRIBLE.... What kind of business owner operates likes this. Part two : Where this went wrong was, Rado called to see if I was willing to allow his friend to stay there in exchange for services. After doing the math . We decided that we would not do that because there was no guarantee that they would still be in business. And his offer that he proposed. I would have to eat a few hundred dollars too. So ever since then he service was pore. SAD there are people out there. How can you live with yourself. The more I think about it the more I remember and I am so glad he did use this favor . I booked Hula Maids to do a deep cleaning on my house last week and I couldn't be happier! Our house is quite large, 5 bed 4 bath but it didn't seem to phase them.
