The customer service is excellent here! Friendly and competent is what you want and this is what they give. They stay busy for a reason. You may be surprised to learn they have a deli section, they do catering and also make deli sandwiches to order. North College Hill bakery sells their products here. They have some of the best loaves of bread that you'll find anywhere. The staff at Humbert's are so nice and helpful! They are always eager to answer any questions and are just very personable. I stopped in recently for marrow bones, steak, and lamb shank. I needed the marrow bones cut, and they were happy to do that the following day (they'd already taken the saw down to clean that day). The parking lot sometimes gets a little full, but I've always been able to find a spot. It's hard to turn left out of the parking lot during busier times. Prices are getting cost prohibitive here. I and my family and friends have been customers for over 30 years with Humbert's, used them for catering as recently as just last October but I guess not this October now, bought sirloins, ribeyes, etc over the years, but most of all just for a sandwich every now and then by myself or with mom. Lately they've changed though and exhibit an entitled attitude. It seems they no longer want to cater to the general long-time clientele who want a sandwich at an affordable price anymore, or make sandwiches at all for that matter. They no longer serve them after 3pm, and today a kid behind the counter tried to charge me 23.00 for two sandwiches from the usual $6 for one, basically doubling up the price without any warning. It's almost as if they resented me for coming in for their 6- dollar sandwich the past few weeks (after week one, they had a small sign saying no service after 3pm, which I didn't see. I left disappointed and as I walked out, no "Sorry", no apology, just a far off "Have a nice day" mono-tone/ passive-aggressive as I was opening the door to exit. I might expect that from a police officer after a ticket but not my local deli that I've been coming to for decades. The other guy said prices have gone up, and that one should be $8. Cool, 8 dollars, ok, got it now. But the kid then charged me 10 anyways, and I had to go back again to clear it up. Is it 6.. is it 8....is it 10....is it 12...? How bout 15 apiece.... What's it going to be next time? I won't bother to find out as it stands. I understand things go up, but what a mess, and sad to see greed take precedence over long time loyalty over their needing to squeeze decades long-standing customers on a sandwich. read more

I really enjoy bbq and cooking out on a grill! There's just something about the smokiness and the primeval nature of roasted meat over fire that appeals to the caveman in us all! I have been a patron of local businesses for many years - it's a great way to give back to a community - it helps that they are incredibly welcoming and provide the best service imaginable - they are knowledgeable about different types of steak and have a host of delicious offerings. I have always felt the atmosphere of community and hospitality they provide. Don't let the size of the building & crowd discourage you because the employees are quick, efficient and very friendly. Their meats,cheeses and all other products are outstanding and always fresh. Humbert's Meats needs a location downtown. They have some of the best meat I have ever tasted and the sides are great too. Try the beef metts hot and mild. They are second to none and pair great with their homemade sauerkraut. The sauerkraut actually glistens and is a beautiful kraut. They have Boars Head meats in the deli and the corned beef, roast beef and turkey are excellent and sliced thin to perfection. Try the Wagyu center cut ribs and get your BBQ sauce here too. It's basically a one stop shop for meat and side lovers. Excellent and friendly and fun customer service. LOVE this place!!! First time in I was looking for four filet mignons. They took the filet and sliced it up for me to my specifications. Then, so there was no waste, they ground what was leftover for filet burgers! I was amazed at the service and the price was most definitely right. Add to that the BEST homemade goetta!!! Glier's will do in a pinch, but Humbert's homemade goetta can't be beat! Heck, I'm staring to drool right now! These guys are all about service and the quality can't be beat. This is the best of the best of meat markets. I bought some ribs there that were tender and must have been grass fed because the taste was phenomenal. The beef hot metts have a taste you can't get anywhere else. They are nothing like the metts you get in the regular big box super markets. Everything there is pleasant to the eye and inviting. Ground lamb meat is in short supply. Trust me, I've checked. Kroger didn't have anything resembling it. My wife needed the meat for a cleansing diet she was doing, but was disheartened at how fruitless our search had been. Finally, I ended up at Humbert Meats and was able to finally get what I needed. The staff answered my question quickly, and while I was only able to get it in frozen form, my wife and I had delicious lamb burgers that night. Whenever it's too much of a stretch to make it down to Findlay Market, Humbert Meats is my best option for all kinds of pork, chicken, beef, etc. Of course, the cost is higher than if I just ended up at Kroger. read more

We've been going to Humbert's for our meat since before I can remember, and we're never disappointed by quality or service. Humbert's gets all of their meat locally, so one can rest assured it is not processed and contains little to no chemicals. I personally love their bacon and their chicken breasts! In terms of service, the people who work at Humbert's are quite friendly and willing to help if one is confused or looking for something specifically. I shop at the Winton Road location and I love it. They have a great selection of meat and if they don't have something you want, they will do their level best to get it for you. The guys behind the counter are funny and helpful and will cut your meat any way you want it. They also have homemade sides as well as things you might need for dinner like potatoes, bread, condiments, etc. They also carry a brand of hot dogs called Bernard's that is outstanding. It can be very crowded on early Sunday afternoons, but you'll always have a good experience. read more

I absolutely LOVE this store and feel blessed it is so close to my house! Wonderful cuts of meat and homemade sides. Want your ground meats mixed, fat trimmed, no problem. When my kids were all younger they always took my bag out to my car and I always see them do this for elderly people. In the summer, their kabobs and kale slaw are a must try.
