The Front Desk staff were very friendly when they checked us in, they do have a pretty large convenience store, as well as some prepared food you can purchase it was great that they had a gas station with diesel right at the entrance as well as propane, so everything you need Obviously, the big draw here is the lost island waterpark, and amusement park, but both are only open on the weekend so this park is nice and quiet on a weekday, which is exactly what we were looking for

Beds are comfortable and clean. My kid did find two bottle caps so not as clean as it should be. Bathroom is small but it does have a shower and toilet so no complaints! Also they provided enough clean towels that we didn't need to ask for more. One further complaint was it's advertised as free WiFi, however there is no password or instructions on how to get on. As a millennial I know how to get on the interwebs but it was taking me to their site and wouldn't let me log in. It was late enough that I wasn't going to bother with it so I do recommend asking about instructions when you check in.

I am typically lenient and easygoing in reviews, but organizing a wedding with Bien Venu caused constant stress and was a huge pain in the butt. They offer you a lot and make it sound great, until you sign the contract which they will immediately begin braking. We were treated very poorly and the most basic services and equipment we were promised during our walkthrough we were later told were not an option. We were also improperly charged thousands of dollars worth of bills; eventually this was figured out, but it was just one more thing that they got so wrong. I could list more than 20 different things they told us they would do in the contract, in emails, and verbally that they failed to do. We loved our wedding, but it was no thanks to Bien Venu; they only made everything about wedding planning and the wedding day difficult.

I've been to a lot of movie theaters in my life... Big, sprawling, stadium seating theaters with…read morechandeliers and surround sound. I've been to the El Capitan on a premiere night. The theatre I grew up with had 20 screens, and it was surrounded by a plaza of food and activities. Gladbrook theater is still the coolest movie theater I've ever been to. Ever. Yeah, I suppose you could say it's because it was novel to me. It was cute and quaint, and the fact that it only shows one movie at a time is funny... but that's not what was so cool. What's cool is that the little town in the middle of corn fields and air decided they wanted a theater, and they did it. It's run by volunteers, and it's probably only frequented by the people who live near the town, but it's awesome. The place was clean, the snacks were cheap, and the movie selection for the night I was in town was perfect. I saw Wreck It Ralph in a little theater on a cold snowy night in Gladbrook, Iowa, with my boyfriend and two other awesome guys, one of whom was wearing a Teemo hat. Pretty great memory, I should think. I do think, in fact. If you live near here and you haven't stopped by, you really should. This place is great and definitely needs to be supported.
