Stopped by after a business trip to Toronto on the way back to Michigan. This is a great store. The owner has a large selection of Habanos and has some house blend Habanos in every size. Expect to pay top dollar due to the harsh tobacco taxes put on by the Canadian government. The store owner is the man. He is extremely knowledgeable about cigars and tobacco and takes the time to recommend cigars by inquiring about your preferences. We politicked for awhile on numerous subjects. Store is dimly lit, feels smaller than it probably is, and attempts to create a smoking lounge vibe. I get the intention, but the lighting made looking through the stock offerings pretty difficult. Pretty good selection of Cuban cigars, though La Casa Del Habano just down the street has more. A very uninspiring selection of cigars from anywhere else, which is unfortunately the case at most places in Windsor. I noticed a decent amount of accessories and humidors, but wasn't shopping for any of that so can't comment on price or selection beyond that. Nothing is labelled and no prices are visible which makes browsing difficult, especially because the place is so dark that it's hard to read read the bands or boxes. Service - I've read on other review sites that this is a strength of this store/owner. Who wrote those reviews? I couldn't get much out of him. I don't now if I don't LOOK like l would take cigars seriously or something, but I do. I was looking to try some new non-Cubans to broaden my experience and none of the particular ones I was looking for were on display so I asked what he recommends as a particularly good quality smoke in a Robusto size (was hoping to find a gem that I perhaps haven't heard about). He scoffs and says they're all good because he "only buys big brands" and "they all sell". Ok. Thanks for giving me zero information I can actually use to make an informed decision. And they're all good? There was some obvious garbage in that humidor. Phillies Blunts? Just because they sell and the brand is "big" doesn't mean it's actually any good. He presented as if he knew nothing about the cigars he had there, which I have to assume isn't the case. I then asked about the different flavour profiles of two similar CAO cigars and got very little, if anything out of him besides telling me the difference in wrapper, which I could see myself just by looking at it. Ultimately, the experience was terrible. It's the second time I've been in there. The first was to get a Cuban that I had already basically picked before walking in. It seems that if he doesn't think you look like a typical cigar aficionado, he'll treat you like an ignorant novice who won't know the difference between any of them. I bought something but I didn't walk out feeling good about it and didn't end up enjoying it. It was a CAO Mx2. Though it gets pretty good reviews online, it just wasn't for me. Felt like a waste of money and time. I've always had a qreat time in La Casa Del Habano talking about cigars with the staff who are friendly and l knowledgeable and don't present this ridiculous attitude that everything they have is "good enough" for you, as if there's no variation in quality or suitability for a specific customer. The ONLY reason I went back to Humidor 1 was because I was downtown and Casa doesn't carry Non-Cubans (I was in the mood for a Nicaraguan). Won't make that mistake again. read more

My girlfriend and I visited Windsor for cubans and caesars palace. Honestly, this store/the owner were extremely great and the owner was so helpful in not just information with Cuban cigars, but also with restaurants, tourist attractions, and bars. He was very kind, informational, and serious about his job/business. We went to 3 other cigar places around Windsor, which consisted of workers with little to no knowledge on Cubans, let alone non-cuban cigars. I have went out of my way to come back to this gentleman's store twice. His selection of Cuban and non-Cuban cigars were very impressive. Prices are the same as anywhere else, some even much more cheaper. He also carries house blend Cubans, which are extremely tasty and at a good cost. All of the products I purchased from the gentleman were fresh, well maintained, and at the the relative humidity for cigars. The big humidor room was pleasant and comfortable to be in. It wasn't like glass cabinets like much of the other stores, that's how you know he is serious about what he does and how he takes care of his building. My next trip to Windsor, I am stopping here before checking in my hotel. read more
