This was better than I expected. I'd always seen their deals on Groupon and such, but was never overly impressed with the menu; general pub grub. But, my mate picked up a deal and I'm never one to knock back a free feed. Situated in one of the many reinvented, 3 storey townhouses on Bath St, you're not quite sure when coming through the doors, whether you're following the stairs right up, or head right, in to the the bar-come-Dom dungeon. The dungeon looked appealing so we veered right. Thankfully, we'd chosen wisely and were directed to our pre-booked table by a cheery waitress. The deal was two mains and two glasses of Prosecco, and as the waitress came to take out food order she didn't come empty handed! Good girl. Now, I really was torn, because I'd worked myself in to the mood for s burger, but our dining companions across the way had very delicious smelling fajitas. In the end, cravings won out and I went for the burger. Im glad about my choice. Perfectly cooked patty, sesame brioche(!) and a nice slice of beef tomato. Crispy fries accompanied. We decided to have one more drink to accompany our window side judging, and were shown the list of half price cocktails. Once again, my friend and I picked matching selections and had a deliciously fruity, gin based cocktail. I'm quite looking forward to another deal on somewhere as next time I'm definitely trying the fajitas. My only bug bear is the lighting. As atmospheric as it is, I do quite like to see what I'm eating, so some extra table listing wouldn't go amiss.

I expected this new and supposedly stylish bar on Bath Street to be yet another tired and trendy bar full of pathetic posers, but I was pleasantly surprised. On a Christmas night out, we decided to give this place a go to see what all of the fuss was about. As I entered, what struck me was the sleek and stylish surroundings, with each room having a completely different theme and feel. We headed downstairs to The Basement which was entirely white with cool blue lighting. Contrary to what you might expect from such a place, it lacked any sort of pretentiousness, with friendly staff, good music and gorgeous surroundings. I will definitely be back to enjoy a French Martini and to sample what else their cocktail list has to offer.

It's cozy, crowded, and buzzing with life -- often standing room only and packed shoulder-to-shoulder with locals and travelers alike. If you're a whisky fan (or even just whisky-curious), do yourself a favor and try one of their Scotland whisky flights. It's like taking a mini tour of the country's whisky regions without ever leaving your barstool -- and without worrying about driving. The bartenders really know their stuff and are happy to guide you toward something you'll love. A quick heads-up: no football colors allowed, which keeps the atmosphere friendly and relaxed no matter who you support. And speaking of friendly -- the locals here are as welcoming as they come. This is exactly the kind of place where Scotland's famous pub culture shines. Prices are surprisingly reasonable too, so you can sample a few drams without feeling guilty. Whether you're a seasoned whisky nerd or just looking to experience the local vibe, this is the spot. Pull up a stool (if you can find one) and enjoy a proper Scottish night out

Their selection is so huge they don't have a menu, you just have to ask for your label or take their recommendations. Naturally, most of the selection is Scottish whiskey, but if you somehow prefer otherwise, (say you are a local tired of Scotch... or just want to reaffirm nothing beats a Scotch?) they do offer whiskey from other countries, as well as beer and ciders, as well as gin, rum and the like. They do offer pies and other bar food, but we went after dinner and just couldn't stomach more food, tempting as they may sound.

The mood in the bar is chilled, with nice mood lighting, good tunes and board games and books to use at your leisure should you want. There's even a microwave which you can use if you bring in your own food to eat! The kitchen bar is open during club hours too, so if you don't feel like dancing you can head on in to the kitchen and chill and/or eat and/or drink and/or play some board games at 2am!! The club is just as unique. there's parts of old furniture attached to the walls, lots of subtle nods to "The Big Lebowski" everywhere and lots of places to sit. There is a big quirky bar with all the mod cons including that lovely vintage tv playing some obscure Japanese films, of course. There's a big no frills dance area, complete with a wardrobe in the middle of the floor to dance around. There's not much in the way of flashy flashy lights, instead they have projections bouncing about the venue providing lighting changes and blasts from the pasts in the way of old footage and stuff. I've seen people stop dancing to reminisce at what they are seeing on the big projection screens. There is a nice set of standard lamps around to supply extra lighting around the tabled ares too. There is space for fowk to dance and sit and mingle with out feeling like a club, even though it kinda is. Friday and saturday nights see a good varied selection of club nights from 90's themed ones with bingo to indie stuff to b-sides to rawk to funk and everything in between. Um Did I mention you you get free toast?! PS. Check out the toilets for years worth of funny graffiti, art and poetry!
