This station is clean, well organized, & had cafes, book stores, a supermarket, and a lounge all inside. There is even an Ibis hotel right outside the station so you could easily stay there for a late night arrival or early departure. I also saw lockers for storage if you just needed them for a few hours. You can catch a street-car outside the station or walk to old town in about 13 minutes.

I arrived on a Sunday. Little did I know, everything's closed on Sundays. After checking into the hotel, my husband and I walked straight over to the cable car only to see that it was closed for maintenance. The Innsbruck cable car takes you from the city center to the top of the Nordkette mountain for spectacular views. Since it was closed, there was no one to ask if there were other ways up...it was a bit of a let down, so we just walked back to town and had lunch.

To be fair, they are in the middle of a renovation (July 2017), so maybe it'll be better once that's done. The good: Reasonably priced, very friendly staff. Bathroom was remodeled and much better looking. Room is very quiet. Bed is just ok. Meals in the restaurant were fantastic. I would give them five stars. Definitely eat there. Now the bad: it's across the street from the bus station, and that's where you need to park your car. It's a 10 minute walk to Old Town, where there are much cuter hotels (at least from the outside), but parking there is impossible. Carpet in the room has a lot of disturbing stains, but maybe the renovation will replace them. Be sure to deadbolt your door. One of the hotel workers came in without knocking, and we had a do not disturb sign on the door! I expect better training, especially for a so-called five star hotel.

There's a police station across the street, but there's just an element of not feeling comfortable when walking around the outside of the hotel. Another reason we didn't feel safe was when my wife locked herself out of our hotel room, the person working the desk gave her new keys to our room without any verification or validation of who she was. She was handed the key by just providing a room number. At that point the door was locked at all times.
