Lady Fingers Private Chef & Catering Service

I have been to hundreds of events serving food but none would compare to the unique, throughly delicious food I consumed. I am currently searching for a reason to host my own event to be able to enjoy Lady Fingers again!

It's taken me a long time to come to the decision to write a review of Diane's service, as it isn't…read moregoing to be a positive one. However, I feel the inferior service, and treatment we received was too poor to go unacknowledged. While wedding planning, we were having difficulty finding a caterer that had vegan options, and found Diane to be very helpful and receptive to the idea. It wasn't just merely pasta with marinara sauce, which was refreshing and we were very excited. She was even up for finding a company to rent a stove from and have it sent to the barn we were having our wedding at. All was fine until the actual day of the wedding. While getting ready for the ceremony, I was enlightened to the fact that the bartender, which we paid extra have, was only going to serve until 8 pm. Dinner started at 6. As per the requirements of our venue, we could not self serve the alcohol, so all consumption had to stop then. The "bartender" said it was in our contract, but it was not. Even after double-checking, this arbitrary time they stopped serving was nowhere to be found. Nor was it ever mentioned previously. Not a great thing to learn while preparing for your own wedding ceremony. Diane and her husband (who we agreed upon bartending for us) were not the ones that came, instead she sent staff members we had never met before, and arrived late. The appetizers were fine, nothing spectacular. While the pesto goat cheese tarts were a huge hit. I openly acknowledge the difficulty of cooking/serving food in the rustic location we chose however, dinner was served over an hour late. Most of the food that was to be served was to be vegan. However, on the actual day it was not. For example, the vegan pierogies were kept somewhere else and had to be brought to us. It was minor, but we were put off by it. Also, some food that was supposed to be there, the pesto for the pierogies which I was most looking forward to, wasn't there at all. The salad dressing that was provided was served in the generic Giant Eagle salad dressing bottles. We're not snooty people, but after all the money that we paid for the food, they couldn't put it in a nicer bottle at least? On top of all of this, several of the bridal party and guests reluctantly expressed to me how rude the staff members were to them, including my mother-in-law, which is absolutely unacceptable. When a bridesmaid tried to get at the end of the buffet line, after everyone had been served, she was loudly rebuked and ridiculed for getting seconds. She was told she was not allowed, and left the line embarrassed. When planning the event, we were gratuitous in our head count, and there should have been more than enough for for everyone, including seconds. After I learned of this ill-mannered occurrence, I went to straighten it out and clear up any confusion as to who was allowed to eat. In return I got defensiveness, a snotty attitude, and an obvious confirmation of this catering service's unprofessional conduct. (Unfortunately, because of their poor planning there wasn't enough food for everyone, which in turn caused my mother and father to be unable able to eat at their own daughters wedding). As the reception went on, the "bartender" (who was among the staff that was noted to be quite rude), put out a tip jar! The arrogance, rudeness, and lack of common sense this action exuded is unbelievable. Guests at our wedding did not owe the "bartender" anything. She was not working for tips, in fact it was quite the opposite, as she was paid several hundred dollars for a few hours. Despite all of this, the offensive service was paid in full. But, it continues! About ten days after the wedding, my mother tells me that Diane called her and left an extremely rude and accusatory message on her phone, claiming that we wrote her a bad check, and basically we're miscreant thieves. After investigating the matter further, we discovered the wrong checkbook had unknowingly been used, which accounted for the mix up with the check. It was not the pointing out of this mistake that was the problem, but the accusations that were thrown without being given the benefit of the doubt, as we had paid everything just fine up to that point, and had been nothing but cooperative. It was me that was then sought out by Diane, which only continued the insinuation that we were delinquent in our payments in the attempt of scamming her. Therefore, in my experiences, I have found the Ladyfingers Private Chef & Catering Service to be negligent and unaware of the basic tenets of customer service. I would not recommend them, and will unfortunately have bad memories of the fiascoes that were caused at my wedding because of them.
