The pub itself has s front bar area and two rear rooms reserved for dining, each with a large fireplace. The pub is decorated in a traditional style with wooden furniture. There's an extensive a la carte menu with a range of daily specials on the blackboard. We had Beef & Ale pie with mash and a Vegetable Madras curry as mains: both good if not spectacular. The dessert of white chocolate and cranberry bread-and-butter pudding with pistachio ice cream, however, was stunning. All washed down with locals ales, the bill came to £42.
