Yes, GFC is a somewhat non-traditional congregation where Christian lyrics rather than hymns are sung, sermons are available for sale on tape, and the crowd of attendants genuinely enjoys the service. The pastors speak to topics that are very applicable to young people and tend to be on thought-provoking, moving material. Grace features a younger crowd than most traditional places of worship and offers numerous bonding activities for folks of all ages. The GFC community is friendly and really supportive of newcomers so if you're looking for a new church home, definitely check them out. To accommodate various schedules, GFC has services on Saturday nights as well as ~3 on Sunday mornings.

The Department of Aging referred me to Bill, who maintains the adapted equipment shed behind the church. Bill helped us find a power chair that fit Sharon nicely. We have bought new batteries for it, and it holds its charge for a whole week (with our usual travel amount). More than that, he took two other power chairs that we had bought at auctions which were not correct for her. He had to switch wheels from one to the other, making the better chair EVEN better. You may want to know why we don't just buy a power chair through Medicare. Actually, once we do that, we can never get a manual chair again. It is important to have both chairs for different purposes. So even more recently, our manual wheelchair which was seven years old just broke clean through in the front leg. Bill was able to get us a very serviceable chair, which we are trying. Through a long story, we actually had donated to us ANOTHER manual chair which is practically unused and which seems to fit. So as soon as we are done testing both chairs, I will be calling Bill to return the one he lent us, so someone else can use it. All this is a very long-winded way of saying, what a wonderful church you have. The shed is so well organized, and Bill has always had exactly what was needed. Thank you for this service.

It was ok since they have Assistant Ministers. A woman minister preached the sermon today and she did a good job. She wasn't as engaging and passionate as Pastor Doolin. (06/24/18) The services are always about 90 minutes or so and glow right along. The praise and worship team is always lively as well. They have a program with notes to follow and fill in as the sermon goes along. It usually has all of the Bible verses that will be referenced so you really don't need a Bible if you don't have one. The only suggestion I can offer at this time is for them to have more information about the different events and emotions. They give dates and times but they don't really have any literature explaining what each group is and does.

Right from the very first service we were welcomed and treated like family. We've been attending now for a year and a half and haven't looked back. Between great services, great people, great homegroups, and great food (regular pot luck lunches after service) there's nowhere else I'd attend. And, with the philosophy of "no perfect people allowed," I'm sure anyone would feel just as comfortable and welcome here.
