My wife and I have done purchases and re-fi's with others but after our experience with Garrit,…read more"Team Mcguire" will be our only source for home finance in the future. Garrit has everything you would want in a loan officer. *Proactive - He really got to know our situation, researched and told us what was truly best for us do. Basically he did more than get us what we asked for he exceeded our expectations and got us a rate and closing costs that were far better than we expected. *Knowledgeable and Experienced - I am one of those internet research type of guys and I have to tell you I have been researching a re-fi for our house for about 2 years now. I talk circles around most big bank agents that have approached me in the past. Garrit however was another level and was very eager to not just tell me how it is but to take the time to make me truly understand how everything works and the different options available. *Upfront and honest - Not much to elaborate here except that Garrit tells it like it is, but always from a positive angle and never from a viewpoint of defeat. An example would be something like a credit issue.... Garrit doesn't run, he gives you the facts and puts you on the track to repair and achieving a goal of financing (in our case re-fi). *Fun - Just a good guy to be around... one of the few people I have met who can maintain the highest levels of professionalism balanced with a positive, fun and energetic attitude. My wife and I could go on and on here... but we will just leave you with the following. If you are buying or re-financing in California take the time to contact Garrit McGuire at Academy Mortgage... you wont regret the decision. Paul and Heather Everett Livermore, Ca.

Gwen and my refinance team was out of this world amazing! When I decided to refinance my home I was…read moreapprehensive and annoyed at the thought of collecting all my documents and running the hamster wheel to get all the finance items complete. Day one, David contacted me to ask me a few questions, not but a few hours later and 8:00 at night, Gwen emailed me with my refinance options and that night, not but three hours after David called, I was ready to roll with the refinance. It kind of happened on accident and because the team was so on-the-ball, I rolled with it, pun intended. haha The experience felt like I wasn't experiencing anything. This is a good thing. I went on with my life and I would receive an email from the team asking for an item or two, I would send it, and I moved along with my life. This happened about three times, went in to give a signature, and poof, Gwen sent me my closing day, which mind you was moved up by 9 days because they were so prompt with their process. I understand that this process might be a bit more daunting or consuming for some people, for me it was seamless and surprisingly easy. I will admit, I am organized and have all the paper work that is needed ocd, organized in my office, this helped the process for sure, I didn't have to hunt. Another thing that helped make my process easier, response time. I never sat on their emails, I would email within minutes of receiving communication. The story ends like this, use Gwen and her team. They care and they work hard for you. I even received a call from David two months later to remind me that my first mortgage payment was due. I felt this was the rum soaked cherry on-top of the refinance cake.

Worst home buying experience EVER! AVOID AT ALL COSTS!!…read more I was referred to Waterstone mortgage by my real estate agent. Wow that was a mistake! I couldn't have done a worse job if I had tried. Barb Perry and her "team" were unprofessional, useless and didn't seem to care at all about the money I was giving them. "Minimal effort for maximum reward" must be their slogan. They were extremely inexperienced, petty and reactive during the entire process. They had 2 months to do a decent job on my loan. They obviously procrastinated and bumbled my entire loan. I was told I would need 6,000 dollars to close. There were too many mistakes to mention on the closing documents. Last minute errors were being corrected. Even at closing the errors were still in the documents. . They had 60 days to get my loan documents right and they still couldn't do it. Then the day of closing I had to bring a total of 12,000 dollars to closing. How in the hell so you underestimate 6 THOUSAND DOLLARS?!?! After we signed all the documents they asked if I would like to fill out a survey. Oh boy would I ever. I wish I could have wiped my butt with it. I filled out the survey and could have started a fire with it I was so mad. To add insult to injury They sent a 5 dollar bucket of popcorn with their business card plastered on the front to my place of business as a shameless act of advertising. I was not impressed but rather embarrassed and offended. There is no way I would ever refer anyone to Waterstone mortgage. I'm kind of upset it took me this long to write a public review about them. The only reason I remembered is because I'm still on their mailing list. When I have specifically and in no uncertain terms made it abundantly clear that I wanted no further contact from them whatsoever. Barb Perry aka (Carol Baskins) just sent me an email today asking if I wanted to refinance. WHAT?! ........ No, no, no, no, no no no no no no no no NNNNNNOOOOOOOOOOOO!!!!! Not only no but HEEEEEEEEEEELLL NO! So please. Don't use Waterstone Mortgage. They are literally THE WORST!!
