We had the option to sit indoors or outdoors and chose the upper outdoor patio to enjoy the live music, while still keeping a comfortable distance so it wouldn't be too loud for Luna. I initially wanted to sit on the lower patio, which had heaters, but it was a bit of a walk to the bar and there weren't other guests down there at the time. When I mentioned being cold, a staff member kindly brought out a personal heater for me, which was a thoughtful touch. Several employees stopped by to chat about Luna--my favorite subject-and we bonded over our shared love for Labradors. The food and wine were both excellent; we even took home a few bottles. The view from this location was stunning--our favorite of the trip. It was the perfect place to sip wine, enjoy the scenery, and relax with our best pup by our side.

It's a bit tough to get your bearings at first since the property is really spread out, and requires quite a bit of driving to get from place to place, where first time visitors (like me) are sure to get lost along the way, even with a map of the property. I recommend starting your visit with the visitors center, carriage house, and geology museum, which are adjacent to the desert and Jurassic gardens. I tried to get intel on best places to see blooms at the visitors center, but staff weren't overly helpful in assisting where to explore, so I basically grabbed the map and drove off meandering around the back roads, winding up at the Hanover House (super friendly staff here) and the Caboose and President's gardens (some blooms in this area). Despite feeling a bit lost while exploring and encountering very few blooms, I did overall enjoy my visit to the South Carolina Botanical Gardens. I would rate it as a 3.5 out of 5 experience overall, as much of the land on property seemed not to serve much of a purpose, and you really have to spend time exploring (and getting lost) to find interesting blooms.

The free event runs through Christmas Day and spotlights 88 decorated Christmas trees at two downtown locations: Courtyard by Marriott at 50 W Broad St. Hyatt Regency at 220 N Main St. The trees are decorated by volunteers and sponsored by Upstate schools, companies and organizations. I stopped by the Hyatt Regency, and the multi level lobby with sunshine pouring through the windows was the perfect backdrop for these festive creations. I imagine it is magical at night and can see why the festival is a longstanding tradition for many Upstate families. Event proceeds will support the creation of a new graduate medical-education program at Bon Secours St. Francis Downtown Hospital to help address the growing need for practicing medical professionals. The trees can be viewed at any time during the hotel lobby's open hours.

A yearly visit to BOA Fall For Greenville 2025 with two of my nieces on Friday was a chilly…read moreafternoon. This year there are no tickets, it's credit, debit or gift cards no cash accepted. These payment options were a lot easier, and cut down on the long lines waiting to purchase tickets. We arrived around 4:30 and the crowd wasn't too bad, the lines to try out food weren't long. Cantina 76 was my first stop, I ordered a brisket taco and a blue raspberry lemonade. The taco was soft shell with sliced brisket, chopped tomatoes and onions with cilantro. The brisket was tender and flavorful. The blue raspberry lemonade was aqua blue, with the right amount of sweetness and tartness, both were delicious. I plan on visiting their restaurant in the near future. My next food adventure was from Sidewall Pastry Kitchen, with the banana pudding cookie. It's a thick cookie with banana flavored pudding with a vanilla wafer on top. The cookie itself was also banana flavored, I didn't like the cookie, but my niece enjoyed the peach cobbler cookie. The cookie reminded me slightly of a Crumbl cookie, that's not a favorite cookie of mine either. It was just a little too much going on with the cookie. My next stop was at Food Truck Row. I sampled food from EveryThing Egg Rolls ( Philly Cheesesteaks egg roll), Churro Masters(chocolate drizzled churros) and Knight Bites, Furman University(Brisket Knight Bites) We ended this year's Fall For Greenville with another trip to Jeni's Splendid Ice Cream. As always it's good to spend time with family.
