We traveled off the beaten path to visit Victoria Valley Vineyards. If it's your first time visiting, I'd highly recommend doing the tasting so you can try a few of their wines. I tried their Viognier, white Merlot, Merlot, Cabernet Sauvignon, and Table Rock Red. My traveling party had seconds of the Table Rock Red. Admittedly, I'm a California snob so the varietals weren't for me and my palette. We also had lunch at the winery. I had the chicken salad sandwich which was the daily special. Beautiful place but absolutely HORRIFIC service. We didn't know we had to sit at the dine-in area to order since it was a separate room. The owner asked if wanted to order we said yes. She said well you need to sit in the dine-in area (with a duh look). We had no idea since it was our first time visiting. Once seated that was it. We patiently waited for almost an hr. We saw a big party come in and the owner smiled and attended them right away. It was clear that she knew them. Do not know why the owner is waitressing. She should hire more servers that do a better job since clearly she hates doing it. While we were there two other ladies left as well since they were not attended either. Average wine, good food, terrible service...but the gorgeous view, fabulous weather, and outdoor seating made up for the service. My husband and I visited with friends a few weeks ago. We arrived to a sign on the door about the water pumps being affecting the bathrooms. We stayed after finding out that the staff was filling the tank on the toilet with water for each flush. Not sure how that passed health department regulations! There were a lot of people there and there doesn't appear to be any organization so it took a while for us to get seated. We decided to do the tasting and order food. After being seated it took another while for someone to bring us the menu/ tasting options. They expect you to read the paper menu to figure out how the process works. It did not appear that the servers were assigned tables since 2 different people brought a cheese board but we only ordered one. We had to ask them to explain what items were on the board. The tasting includes 5 different wines which they brought out on porcelain platters in plastic cups - I assume they weren't using glasses because of the water pump issue?! No one provides any information about the wine and the cups aren't marked so you have to guess the type of wine in each. The tables are small and there isn't room for more than 2 of these and we had 4. The staff isn't attentive in removing items from the table so we ended up just clearing space by moving things to an empty table. The cheese board is good - except for the paper plate. The only wine I enjoyed was the Merlot, but not nearly enough to buy any. The sangria was basically fruit juice - way too sweet! We ordered sandwiches at the same time as our cheese board and tastings. We finished the cheese board and the tasting and sat there for another 30 minutes before the sandwiches came out. We had to ask for water to drink since the wine was gone. After that, no one came back to check on us or bring us a bill. We had to ask for that and remind them of what we ordered! We literally could have walked out and no one would have known. I would not go back or recommend this winery to anyone - there are other wineries that offer a far better experience and superior wines. read more

Honestly I was a little disappointed from this place. They were not very personable and didn't explain their wine flights. I usually enjoy places that explain their wines because I want to learn more about different grapes and processes of wine. I typically enjoy dryer red wines, but this winery had way too dry of reds. Additionally, the service was not up to standard and we were waiting almost about an hour for a charcuterie board. Food that just needs to be placed on a board should not take that long. It could have been the particular waitress we had but definitely not my favorite winery and I probably will not come back. read more

From the road, it's as if you're driving to someone's gated house. They have their own parking on the side. You walk in and see for sale an assortment of local honey, marinades, wine openers and stoppers, salad plates and serving utensils. The employees are welcoming and friendly. We had a flight of wines with a combination cheese appetizer and a rueben. The wines were dry and fruitful. We had the Table Rock Red and Rose, Sangria, White Merlot, and Signature Viognier. The cheese did sweeten the wines more. We asked for no 1000 Island on the rueben and it seemed like they made up for the difference in adding more dijon mustard. It was good. We decided to do a mini daytrip into South Carolina from Asheville during our vacation. First stop was here at the winery. They were open and following the State's COVID guidelines. My wife and I sat in the covered porch area. Our server gave us the paper wine list and we built a flight of the 4 dry red wines and the sangia. To go with the flight we ordered a cheese plate. We enjoyed just sitting looking out on the vineyards, nibbling on the cheeses, and tasting the different wines. Enough that we each ordered a glass of the signature blend to extend our stay. Victoria Valley Vineyard is a quaint winery in the mountainous region of Cleveland near Table Rock State Park. Turn onto Table Rock Road off of Highway 11 to the right of Aunt Sue's. You know you have arrived when you see an expansive house behind a wrought iron fence. The winery is on the right. You'll enter through the small store or patio and head straight to the bar near a large open window viewing the hills of vineyard. There are usually 5 or 6 wines you can sample ranging from Chardonnay to Cabernet. If you want something a little sweeter, they serve a delectable sangria. Along with drinks you can order food ranging from soup, salads or sandwiches. My favorite is the Reuben. You can choose to stand at the bar, sit at a table inside, sit at a table on the balcony or, my favorite during the fall, sit at a table on the outdoor patio. (Beware: You may have to lug your own table and chairs to this area because I don't think the staff likes having to walk up and down the staircase or maybe they have seen too many accidents of people who have sampled the wine hurt themselves on the staircase.) The vineyard is very laid back. I have visited after a long hike up to Table Rock during the hot summer, with my Harley group after ride through the mountains in the fall and with my girlfriends who just wanted to hang out for the day. Victoria Valley Vineyards is worth your time to visit. read more

The wine is great, which makes it unfortunate how terrible the service is. We waited 10 minutes at the bar for someone to just acknowledge us next to the Please Wait to be Seated sign. After we finally got a table, we couldn't tell if you brought your order to the bar or if someone would come to the table. Once we ordered, they had run out of flight glasses so - again - we waited. People who sat after down 15 minutes after us got drinks before us. It took another half hour to get the cheese combination plate, which was pre-sliced packaged cheese and missing the listed meat from the description. Also, "fruit" apparently means a cluster of 10 grapes. Servers walked by 11 times without checking on us (we were definitely still hungry). The wine is delicious and I'm sad we had such a terrible experience, but we'll never he back. read more

I found this winery while driving from Atlanta to Asheville and looking for lunch. What a great little spot! We arrived a little before noon on a Friday, and decided to do a wine tasting before lunch. For $5 you get 5 wine pours. Overall the wines were pretty good - a little sweet for my taste, but definitely worth getting a glass to enjoy with lunch. I opted for the Cab Franc to pair with my ham and Swiss panini. We sat on the patio, with a great view of the rolling hills and vineyard. The sandwiches were pretty tasty, especially for a little makeshift kitchen. It was served with some multi-grain chips and a small side of vinegar based coleslaw. Overall, I really enjoyed the atmosphere and light lunch before hiking the nearby surroundings! read more
