When I retained Ms. Goad for $7500, she said this money would cover all legal representation if my case were to go to trial and that I would not get one cent back if my case was dismissed at the hearing for lack of evidence. I had several credible adults (including a sports official) willing to testify on my behalf who were eyewitnesses to the scene of the alleged battery, whereas the prosecuting party only had one minor. I think that Ms. Goad charged me this insanely high amount because she knew from the start that my case would be dismissed. After she had my money she was very difficult to get in touch with and very slow to answer my emails, and I wound up doing almost all of the legwork to find the witnesses myself. Without me working diligently to contact them all, we would never have had them subpoenaed. Moreover, she had the subpoenas served too late, just a few days before the hearing, and we were not able to get the sports official (a crucial witness) to testify. Throughout the process and on the day of the hearing Ms. Goad was condescending, immature and rude, not only to me but to the other eyewitnesses. She even talked disrespectfully about the Superior Court judge of Pooler using curse words to describe her in front of me and the eyewitness. Ms. Goad spent a total of 4 to 5 hours on my case and made $7500. I would have been better off defending myself. I truly hope no on else to go through this type of situations where you are fraudulently accused. If you do, do yourself a huge favor and do not use Stacey Goad as your attorney.
