My High schooler attended for SAT test prep. Actually received a lower score than PSAT & Huntington's practice test! Some tutors were ok, others admitted they didn't know the content they were supposed to tutor my kid. Couldn't focus because young kids being loud. Do not recommend. read more

As an Asian mom, I have been to many different tutoring places, but here are a few reasons why I think this is the best. Since COVID-19, my son's grades have plummeted like many other kids, and it was too hard for him to do it on his own. However, after attending this place for several years, I can confidently say that my son's English and math grades are rock solid. But more than that, the biggest reason my son likes this school is because of the teachers. Of course, they are experienced and talented, but more than anything, they are kind and affectionate to the kids, and they always give them the confidence that they are the best and can do well even if their grades drop. Since coming here, my son has always been confident and believes that he is doing well, and he feels secure because he always has a place to ask questions and learn when he doesn't know something or has homework. This year, my son is a high school student, and he still wants to continue attending this place and says he will do one-on-one if he is not good enough. My daughter studied at Huntington learning center for more than two years. We are very disappointed by this learning center. Within these two years, we kept our hope that they can help my kid's reading. However, the learning center did not provide appropriate reading materials to her for a very long time. I communicated with the owner several times without any improvements. My kid reading score dropped a lot at last that we had to stop the classes at this learning center. I would warn all the parents who want to help their kids. Dont waste your time and money on this learning center. This learning center even let my kid babysit another student during her classes time of study. read more

Save your money and go elsewhere! Please. For the sake of your child's test scores. I wasted almost $2500 on this company only to have my daughter's test score go up 1 point. Your child is being tutored by HS students that do not care how well they do on their entrance exams for college and only care about their paycheck. Spend your hard earned money on good tutoring that will help your child and go somewhere else that actually cares how well your kid does and can truly help them succeed. This is NOT the place that does that. They bill months later, like 6 months later. Their system sends you a bill for the total, no itemization here unless you ask for it. George and the Huntington team did a excellent job of pinpointing and focusing on where we could improve on our sons ACT. George was very accommodating, professional and kept us updated on a regular basis. My son enjoyed his time there worked hard with the team and was rewarded by being accepted at his first choice colleges. A positive attitude saw dramatic increases in the ACT score. My daughter was struggling in reading. After she spent 1 st grade in 1/2 grade blended classrooms where she did not learn proper phonics on the top of her being the youngest child she struggled a big deal. She was entire year behind in 2 nd grade when we brought her in spring 2018. She spent 4 months going to Huntington about 4 times a week. In fall 2018 MAP assessment she scored ahead 10 points and is fluent reader. There are no words that can describe my gratitude to Warren, George and all the teachers from this center! They exceeded my expectation! I believe that reading is the most important subject and if your child did not get enough attention in school to master it I would recommend you to bring your child to this center. I sent my son to Huntington Learning on Half Day Road to get tutored for the ACT. Met with George and he explained everything very clearly as to how the tutoring sessions would be performed and what realistic results to expect. I believe "realistic" is the key word. If your son or daughter puts in the time, you will see results. My son had very positive feedback about each of the instructors he worked with while going through the sessions. His hardwork, combined with the outstanding program that George has put together and oversees, resulted in a dramatic increase in his ACT Score. Pricing is acceptable but teaching quality is quite poor. There is not enough 1 to 1 attention.  Sometimes teachers would struggle to answer algebra questions. Monday's afternoons are too crowded and there seems to be a lot of juggling/shuffling going on on Monday afternoons.  The environment is not too friendly for there are lot of noises(talking among the staffs) which can make it more difficult for some students who prefers a quiet place to learn.  I had to cancel after 33 hours and find a real private tutor. read more

Though, we received referrals for pricey Independent ACT Tutors, we decided the best referral was from our daughters peers, who liked & got results, from George & his excellent Team at the Buffalo Grove Huntington. (Not only a more economical choice, but the 2 hr. one on one sessions afforded them time to develop our daughters skills & administer practice exams. Based on these practice exams, they identified areas of focus, and designed a plan unique to our daughters needs.) George had the best interest of our daughter at heart from start to finish - and I never met him. I didn't need too, because he explained everything clearly, kept it real, & it was obvious he was overseeing her customized plan, with every call I made. If your daughter or son puts in the time, you will see results. George took calls around my crazy work schedule, and scheduled sessions around our daughters crazy activity schedule. My daughter had positive feedback about all her instructors, and if she had a preference on a given session, George would work hard to accommodate it. (I'm sure it wasn't easy, but since all his instructors are all good, we soon learned, it never really mattered). We put our trust in George's experience /guidance, appreciated his honesty, and with the hard work of our daughter, along with his outstanding program & team, our daughter made a DRAMATIC increase in her ACT score! We started using Huntington Learning Center when our children (2) were in middle school. Both of us worked, and when they were struggling we didn't want every evening to be difficult with homework. Huntington helped them understand concepts more effectively and complete challenging work. In high school (one of our children had an IEP), we continued to use Huntington in areas where they struggling. The services were completely personalized to their needs and we felt the investment for the outcomes they received and how it helped them gain confidence was work it! When it came time to prep for the ACT's, both of our kids leveraged Huntington. Between the 1st and 2nd time they took the test, each of their overall scores went up 4 total points (and better in each section). For one of our children, we continued to use Huntington in college for areas of challenge. Through the many years that we have been customers, they have been really outstanding flexible with scheduling and our children enjoyed going. The instructors were outstanding, helped them gain confidence and the results were terrific. It was so helpful when were had somewhere to turn for assistance.
