Our experience with Huntington in Geneva has been top notch! Not knowing anyone who has gone to Huntington, I only knew that Huntington existed at this location because I drive by it daily to and from my office. The location and parking are very convenient. I looked into a variety of ACT tutoring prep programs about 9 months ago, in anticipation of my daughter taking the ACT in June, 2017. Other programs were classroom style with mandatory lengthy weekly sessions. Knowing how my child best operates, I liked that Huntington offered one on one tutoring, so that my daughter wouldn't be held back by other students requiring more class time on something she already knew, nor be falling asleep by hour #4 of a Sunday evening class. I also feel that a program that provides different tutors for different subjects is valuable, as a single tutor cannot cover all topics with proficiency. My daughter and I, 8 months into her program now, due to an intensive travel sports schedule, are both thrilled with her progress and extremely pleased with everyone at this facility! Huntington is very organized, conducting themselves very courteously and professionally. My daughter is very relaxed and comfortable in all her sessions and we both appreciate the enthusiasm shown by all the staff! Everyone is truly interested in seeing my child succeed. Practice tests given, along with tutor advisements, show significant progress gained, which only serves to motivate my daughter to do even better, challenging herself to strive for a score even higher than her previous goal. That is success to me, as a parent! Our schedule for tutoring is very limited and difficult due to my daughter's rigorous club sports schedule and required tournament travel, however, the facility is very accommodating with my daughter's limited availability and never makes us feel like a burden. I sincerely appreciate Huntington's courtesy and cooperation! Based on our excellent experience with Huntington in Geneva, beyond our current ACT prep, I plan on utilizing them for extra help with regular high school courses for any areas that my daughter may wish to improve in. I cannot say enough good things about the people and programs at Huntington in Geneva. In just eight weeks, they helped my daughter raise her score from 31 to 35. At the outset, the Huntington staff started with an evaluation test and provided a question by question analysis of our daughter's answers. Based on these scores, they designed a customized program and put together an intensive 12 week program. The program paid dividends on her score within eight weeks, but what was truly impressive was the way they worked with our daughter on a personal level. Beginning with the evaluation test results, Susan addressed our daughter directly and made sure that she took ownership of the process and understood that results would only come if she committed herself fully to the study schedule. Susan asked our daughter in a very straightforward manner if she would like to get a 33 and guaranteed that she could do it with Huntington's help. Within two weeks, our daughter informed us that we were "getting our money's worth" and that she could see the improvement in her practice scores. Our daughter was so right! Huntington's programs are not inexpensive, but the results have qualified her for merit-based aid that far exceeds the cost. For the past 5 years, I had the privilege of serving as Assistant Director at the Huntington Learning Center in Geneva. I recently accepted a full time teaching job and had to resign my position. I felt compelled to write a review of this exemplary center. I have met with tear filled parents who didn't know how to help their child in school. Dear Susan, Nancy, Cheryl, Cara, and Megan, I just want to take a minute to thank every single one of you. When I first contacted Huntington, I didn't know what to expect. We never had to deal with any of these issues before so I was a complete mess. All I wanted was my baby who has the biggest heart to get the help she needed. I knew it was going to be a challenge knowing that Emma was extremely behind. Emma never once complained about going to Huntington, thanks to each of you. You always made it fun for her and you made her feel like she could do it. These months have flown by and I see a huge change in my daughter. She jumped in the car on Wednesday and said she got a 91% on her Spanish. When I saw her teacher at my sons conferences she said "I'm so excited Emma got a 100% on her reading, don't tell her I want to surprise her!!" I am going to start by saying that I couldn't be happier with my son's experience with his ACT Prep at Huntington Learning Center in Geneva, IL!! My son has test anxiety and has a difficult time showing what he truly knows while test taking. We received his first ACT scores today. He improved his scores by 7 points from his initial pre-test!! He worked very hard with his tutors all summer and fall. He also completed the extra work and activities offered by the center. I'm going to say it again...7 POINTS!!! Ok this is our 2nd child in the program and wowza!!! Our son came in needing basic English and Math prep before ACT prep, we started the summer of 2014 going into his Junior year. 18 mos. later he goes from an OCT'14 (19 ACT) to an APR'15 (22 ACT) to a SEP (27 ACT). All we did was follow the program, my son worked hard because he new what was on the line,and his tutors quite honestly took a personal interest in his progress. My daughter had a good experience at Huntington in Geneva. From her initial ACT practice test to her first real ACT test she raised her score 4 points. She found all of her tutors nice and knowledgeable. It was definitely a sacrifice and took a lot of time and work on my daughters part, but was worth it in the end. Stephanie Petrich, the Assistant Director, was so kind and more than accommodating!! She took a personal interest in my daughters success and helped us work around our difficult schedule. Just wanted to share our positive experience with Huntington. Our daughter was able to raise her ACT score by six points with the help of the teachers at the center. Typical of a teenager, she fought the extra studying/lessons but actually began to enjoy her tutoring sessions. Very helpful. Although the one-on-one tutoring is very pricey, I can honestly say it helped me so much, and would recommend this to any student who is motivated to do better in school or get their ACT score up. As for myself, I jumped roughly 6 points from the first time I took it, and am now able to receive scholarship money from the school I would like to go to (Mizzou). I would highly recommend coming here for ACT prep work. I originally started with a 20 and got a 26 on my ACT. The tutors were very knowledgeable and really helped me understand how to do well on the test. They were super helpful with my schedule due to the fact that I am in a lot of after school activities. After taking the ACT three times and continuously getting a 29, I decided to look for ACT tutoring to raise my score enough for scholarships. I had tried online and classroom Kaplan but it didn't seem to help. After just one month or so of Huntington tutoring, I took my last ACT and got a 32! Both of my children have attended Huntington for ACT prep and have done extremely well. One started with a 19 and scored a 25 and the other started with a 25 and got a 31. We had a good experience with the Geneva Huntington. My daughter went up an overall 3 points on the ACT test from a 20 to an average of 24 and in math a 25. Most impressive was her extra tutoring in Physics. She went from a barely C in the first semester to a B+ in the second semester. My son just took his 1st official ACT at Geneva High school in February and his score was 6 points higher than when he started with Huntington in Geneva Il. They are very friendly and accommodating there. There were times when my son had substitute tutor and those substitutes helped him with tips he hadn't heard before and were as instrumental in his improvement as his regular tutors. read more
