Today I bring you...my 500th review. I could think of no one more worthy of my semi-thousandth post than Chandie Hupman and Chelsea Russell, of Keller Williams Reality; the women who saved me from the seemingly endless agony of home ownership; the relentlessly kind and generous gals who managed all of my real estate chores from across the country, held my hand through it all, kept in constant contact, and made it possible for me to sell my still-furnished prior home in Savannah without having to leave my busy life in California. Incredible. But here's the reality of it folks: it took 10 months to sell my house. That's not the fault of any realtor, that's the fault of our pathetic economy and housing marking bubble burst. I wanted to foreclose, take the easy way out, but Chandie urged me, selflessly, to try for a short sale. She assured me that she had an colleague who was a short sale expert (Chelsea Russel, another gem) and the two of them would take care of everything. It would be simple, painless, and worth the minor effort to avoid foreclosure, they promised. Indeed it was. I had to get together some basic paperwork for the bank, jump through a couple silly hoops like writing my Hardship Letter, gather tax info and pay stubs, etc. But once we had an offer, Chandie and Chelsea kept things moving so efficiently, working as my middle(wo)men, that I barely had to be involved with the process at all. Exactly as I had hoped! Chandie and Chelsea are incredibly dedicated, organized and reliable especially considering they made mere pennies, if not less, on this deal. What a special treat to feeling truly cared for, with no ulterior motives. Although Keller Williams is in the biz of selling homes, I'm a renter for life now. But that's just me and my penchant for freedom...if you want to plant some roots and pay lots of bills, then home ownership is the way to go! I never write reviews, but the Hupman Group deserves this review and much more. We had our house on the market for 4 months with no interest. I decided to switch realtors and was referred to Chandi. Chandi walked our house and said it seems larger than the stated size. And, she was right, the house is 100sq ft larger than the tax assessor has on file. How she knew that small difference is beyond me! Chandi was quick but yet very thorough and after our meeting I knew she knew how to sell a house. After much dragging on from our old realtor, Chandi pushed on and had us back on the market 2 hours after the first realtor had us down. After 3 days on the market, we had 1 offer. On day 4 we had our second offer. We are now under contract for more than our asking price. I had a few questions about getting the small items for the buyers completed and the Hupman Group has already taken care of those, in less than 24 hours.
