The librarian read 3 books that were part of the Lunar Year genre and in between had some mini interactive song activities. Love that my daughter participated. At the end of storytime they crafted a Snake and that was definitely my 3yo favorite. It's nice that the public libraries provide these kinds of free activities for the kids. My daughter did a great job listening though at times it was a bit challenging to hear. Would love to join in another Storytime event. Plenty of free parking.

The air conditioning in this library is better than the air conditioning in my own house. It's very quiet inside, and staff is friendly. I needed a new library card (lost mine) and we got that situated in about 5 minutes! Printers only take silver coins, so make sure you have those on hand. There are also quite a few people facing homelessness that stay inside for long periods of time, but everything is still really quiet and peaceful. There is always a security guard at the front door.

I would come here as a child and sit with my mom near the adult section so she could help me with an essay. Since the kids section was packed. A lady with blonde/bleached hair with square glasses, overweight, curly short hair in a ponytail, would stare and me point at me talking to her coworker and finally came to talk to me rudely (ps this is a library, we're supposed to whisper) saying I have no right to sit there, she didn't give me time to talk, she just stormed back into her chair after. My computer time was about done, and she came over again angry talking to me, I couldn't save my progress of the essay and the computer logged me out and she kept yapping. This lady would always stare at me and follow me every year (6 years straight). Pretty sure she still works there to this year. One time my brother and I were at the teen section and there was this guy and his sister coming in, they would be very loud. Let me inform you, there are cameras in the teen room. And this guy would play porn on loud volume and a staff lady with reddish brown hair, wavy hair, short hair and short size, older in her 60's, would come and say who is playing that (porn) ? My brother and I on Roblox just looked at the guy. That guy blamed it on my brother (The guy and his sister were on their personal laptops for your information). The librarian staff who favored the guy (Eth) told us a warning and left the room. The guy played it on blast again. The librarian came back and kicked my brother out. Honestly I would recommend the staff to have some common sense at least, or have a thinking cap when deciding the best judgement for things. Especially if there are 4-8 cameras pointed in the tiny little section and especially if you ( librarian R) constantly watch the cameras. I'll give you a tricky question. If there were 2 guys in a teen room section and you had to decide who was watching inappropriate videos. Who would you choose? A 13 year old kid playing Arsenal on the library computer? Or A 16 year old kid, on his personal laptop, muting the sound and changing the websites whenever you walk in?

I asked Jackie ( rude librarian)…read morefor a temporary access for my kid to go in the computer she completely declined and said there certain reason she would give a temporary access to let kids go on kids computer and we qualified but still denied as for the other old librarian she is not welcoming and keeps trying to force my kid to clean up other kids messes after she cleaned up her area of toys and goes to another activity she would stop my daughter from playing and bring her to the other side of the room to pick up things she's never touched this was the 2nd time she accused my daughter and scolds her i left as she is basically bullying my child (Also we did attend an activity that she host it and expect kids not to be kids she is a sour attitude) They might as well hire some of the volunteers that help out as they do more than them anyways they get overwhelmed from doing the job they have little to do anyways from the help they get from the volunteers (Jackie said my kid was not welcome back anymore, at this point I don't even care they are not nice I will not have my child clean up someone else's mess like it's her chore or job to do!)

I took my 3 children and it was giving Gotham outside of the building. Inside is nice and cozy. Relaxing quiet environment. The kids area is spacious and has great book selection and fun crafts to enjoy. My teens were able to explore the anime section, and there were chess and checkers to play. There were also puzzles out to play as well. The library is full of interesting books, magazines, cds, dvds, etc. I would recommend to set aside at least 2 hours to enjoy the full library. The staff are weird and watched us like we're going to steal, although the library is full of unhoused transients, and we were just a family enjoying the library. Very uncomfortable and not welcoming! Will we be back? Yes, because family fun in Fresno is limited and we do enjoy the library. Can they improve the experience, definitely. Also the chairs were mostly gross and they could definitely use an update.

We usually spend about 45 minutes to an hour inside just browsing around... If you have a library card you can rent up to 25 books and keep them for 3 weeks! I don't need 25 books I usually get myself one and get 3 for my son so he can read and use them for his homework. I have been paying for parking using my phone it's about 1.50 for my hour using the parking meter. There are a lot of homeless outside but they give out smiles and don't bother nobody at all but if it's your first time there it can be a little nerve wracking. The few books I have rented were brand new. I did spill a little bit of coffee on it and I told them when I tuned it on and they said it was still in great condition. My son loves the kid selection and even he gets excited to read. Don't go out and buy a book when you can rent it from out own Fresno library

Arrived at 3:30pm on Monday afternoon with three grandkids in tow. As soon as we walk in the kiddos…read morego to the bathroom to potty and wash their hands. Bathrooms are always clean and stocked with tissue and paper towels. There is a water fountain with a bottle fill spout right outside the bathroom. I dropped off my overdue book in the book slot and then we headed to the kids room so the older kiddos could do their homework. No pencils in backpacks, ugh. We borrowed mechanical pencils from the front desk and returned them when we were done. Thank you!

Luckily for me, Sherman, the reference librarian, is SUPER and was able to gather the resources. For a small fee, he spent a few hours searching their archives, then mailed hard copies to me. Now being an Alumni and seeing that this library is very unique. I always had my favorite spot on the third floor buried behind books so I could concentrate and focus without being noticed by the abundance of people I know. However they now changed it into an area where you cannot study :( But this Library has loud areas, social areas and areas to study. They have a Multimedia are where you can chill and watch videos, music and do whatever that cause for media. They have a reading room which you have to be a VERY quite person to enter and I found out if you think you are a quite person the reading room will either confirm it or you will learn you are far from a quite person. They have Starbucks which doesn't take on many of the promotions from national Starbucks or any student discounts. They have events hosted like museums and artwork show casings. There is able seating and helpful Librarians to help with anything you are looking for. I enjoyed this library very much when I received my bachelors and coming back Post Masters is great to see what changed in two years!

I've only visited Downtown and Clovis Library and compared to this location it's quite small. I had my two children with me during my visit. I initially came to get library cards for all of us. As I entered I saw there was a stack of papers to apply for a library card. The lady at the front desk was way in the back but noticed me and greeted and approached me. I just asked to confirm if those were the forms to be filled out. After filling them out I went back to the front desk and she assisted me and was able to get our library cards a few mins after. My daughter wanted to play in the children's s area as she noticed a play kitchen so we did just that. They had a calendar of activities for the month. There were actually quite a bit of people inside on the computer and desk area. I sat down at one of the tables and noticed the tables and chairs could use a good wipe down. Otherwise our visit was pleasant.

I've not always been able to locate the books I was looking for. They do move books around and you can place a hold and pick up there. That is what I would recommend. The last two times the whole library smelled like urine. They desperately need to do a cleaning the smell was intense. I can't say I be continuing to go here just because of the smell.
