As an aside, I love the fact that in Michigan you can just say "the Bridge" and everyone knows what bridge you are referring to. This facility is fantastic. My wife had an appointment with an oncology doctor at 9:00 this morning. After an examination and discussion, the doctor said that he would like my wife to have a full body cat scan. When the appointment was over, we went to radiology department to see when we would need to come back downstate for that test. Knowing that we live a 5+ hour drive back, even though they were booked full, they managed to squeeze my wife in at 2:00 PM. There are three people that I would especially like to thank in the oncology department. Brigit and Sochil were working the oncology desk, and both were very friendly, knowledgeable, and helpful, and we greatly appreciated their efforts on our behalf - hence this review. I would alarm like to thank Sarah, the oncology nurse navigator. Actually, every single person that we encountered here was wonderful - from cafeteria workers, to medical staff, to cleaning staff, to ... Also, parking is free in the car park is free for patients. This facility, and especially the staff, truly care about their patients.

I was in having a consultation with her for reconstruction following my double mastectomy. She treated me like I was stupid and made me feel like my surgery choice was a bad idea. She also bashed my breast surgeon and another plastic surgeon in the area. She told me she didn't even know why my surgeon would send me to her. All before she even got to know me or ask what my goals were. I told her she was making feel very uncomfortable and she said "it is what it is"! Many more things were said and I was completely shocked on how I was treated, so I got up in the middle of the consult and stormed out of her Grand Blanc office crying! I would not recommend her to anybody!! Nobody deserves to be treated like that!

I'm not writing this only out of anger, but out of grief, regret and the hope that no other family has to go through what we did. My mother was a liver‑transplant recipient on lifelong immunosuppressants. When her cancer was diagnosed, her pulmonologist identified it on a PET scan, but despite knowing it was aggressive, Dr. Alsawah waited nearly three months before starting treatment. By the time chemo began, the cancer had already progressed. From the very first cycle, it was obvious that her body could not tolerate the regimen. Every single treatment sent her into a complete metabolic collapse: severe acidosis, immune failure, dehydration, infections, and week‑long hospitalizations. She was so immunosuppressed that she could only receive one chemo treatment per month, which meant the cancer was spreading faster than she could be treated. Despite this, Dr. Alsawah continued to push for more chemotherapy. I asked him to stop. I told him she couldn't handle anymore. I told him she was suffering. Instead of listening, he talked her into continuing, even though he knew she was only getting one treatment a month, even though he knew the cancer was progressing, even though her body was shutting down after every infusion. At her last appt with him, he talked her into four treatments that month even though I asked him to stop. Her body was in such a fragile state that she couldn't survive even one and died a week later. She was also placed on Keytruda, which raised serious concerns to me because my mother was a transplant recipient on lifelong immunosuppressants. Immunotherapy drugs like Keytruda work by activating the immune system, while transplant patients must keep their immune system suppressed to protect the graft. These two mechanisms directly conflict and the medical literature documents risks of liver inflammation, immune‑mediated injury (rejection), and organ dysfunction in transplant recipients receiving Keytruda. Even though "rejection" was not listed in her chart, her records showed worsening liver function and metabolic instability during treatment, which means Keytruda cannot be ruled out as a contributing factor to the stress on her already fragile liver. When I questioned her oncology nurse and Alsawah about this risk, the concern was dismissed with a claim that it was common and safe for transplant patients. What hurts the most is that her last five months were spent in and out of hospitals, fighting through pain, confusion and hallucinations (hepatic encephalopathy) due to severe acidosis, and constant medical crises when instead she could have been given comfort, dignity, and time. Once it was clear she could not tolerate the treatment, the clinical focus should have shifted to quality of life. Instead, the push for more chemo continued long after her body had made it Very clear she couldn't survive it. My mother deserved a treatment plan based on her actual medical reality -- her transplant status, her immunosuppression, her severe reactions, her swiftly declining health. She deserved honesty about what was possible and what wasn't. She deserved a doctor who listened when her body was failing. I will always wonder how different her final months could have been if the focus had been on comfort instead of pushing a treatment she could not physically survive. I wish I had found another doctor for her since I did not like or trust him the first time he treated her cancer years ago. Families deserve transparency, realistic expectations, and a doctor who sees the whole patient. That was not our experience.

We would call the office and his pretend nurse would not answer us because she recognized the number. It took him so long to get back to us on the process that the cancer spread to double by the time dad got treatment. He ended up on his death bed and we said our goodbyes until another doctor came and took action and saved my dads life. But Alsawah probably doesn't care by now because he already got paid for the treatment. Go elsewhere, for your life's sake. To him you are just a dollar sign. He is a money hungry, ignorant and heartless man.

My husband had a petscan on the last week of November 2022 and it showed that the cancer was stable in his liver where it had metastasized from the colon. We got terrible vibes from Dr. Krauss on our very first visit. My husband only received one chemo treatment at the Rogel Cancer Center at UofM. Then Dr. Krauss put my husband into hospice. My husband was so happy to come to U of M Cancer center until Dr. Krauss gave him No Hope. We had been told by Dr. Krauss that he had a couple of other treatments that he could try before giving up on my husband. I was very disappointed with Rogel Cancer Center and Dr. Krauss and would never recommend anyone to this cancer center since they don't want to help anyone and just give up easily on their own patients. The staff was not very friendly and we were made to feel like outsiders. This was the worst experience I have ever had. We should have stayed in Texas where the Oncologists were great and very caring with every patient. After talking with several Michiganders, I was made aware that this was one of the worst hospitals and cancer center in the US. In-and-out for mammogram on a Saturday afternoon within 30 minutes…read more The check in process was quick they took me back to the gowning area I was waiting for maybe 3 and a 1/2 minutes before they called me back for my mammogram which took an excruciating 4 and a 1/2 minutes. All the nurses were very pleasant who i dealt with even the one smashing my breasts between 2 plastic plates , she was very amiable. I hate usually scheduled my mammograms at the Royal Oak Beaumont because it's near work but that would take me an hour or more so now my new thing is to go to trade Beaumont on a Saturday morning/afternoon.

She even wrote down the opposite of something I said, which was that the lactate form of magnesium I was taking appeared to be CAUSING my RLS, because when I started on a different form it was obvious what the connection was. But -- that was either not understood at all or was simply ignored, because what she wrote down was that it was helping. !!!!! How can you treat someone when you can't even get a simple report like this recorded correctly? Even though I had no improvement in symptoms and actually continued to decline, I just got the "same old same old" every session, with more and more being added based on my "progression" through the clipboard of "this is what you do for this test result." Balderdash, blah-blah, no IQ evident, just rules following. What about what I was already taking? Why was that not investigated for efficacy or negative effects? 35 pills a day already, and we ignore that? I was referred to Dr Schmidt himself, who also did absolutely nothing to help -- kept testing this and that supplement remotely, nopity-nope-nope. I decided to eat the $200 "exit fee" because it was cheaper than continuing to pay for something that CLEARLY was focused on a program that operates on what test results are for that "most wonderful test" that they use as a baseline. Don't bother wasting your money.
