I'm being generous by giving this company one star. It's been a miserable experience from the start. After receiving several quotes I went with this company because they told me they could recess the header in the soffits. That turned out to be false. I reluctantly moved forward with the project as hurricane season was fast approaching. They did the initial install on 08/25/25. It was horrible. They attempted to install them tight to the soffits and wound up bending the headers. I was then told that they would replace the covers. They came back several weeks later with new covers. The result was exactly the same. Several more weeks passed and they came back, removed and lowered the units. while this did correct the warping I now have a big ugly gap between the header and the soffits. Additionally one of the shutters is making a loud popping noise. The other item is the missing snap covers for the vertical supports. They have tried to install these twice without success. We're going on a year since I initially ordered these shutters. Support covers are still missing and I fear that the one shutter is going to soon fail. It's evident that the unit was warped during the initial install. One other item is that the final inspection was never completed per the city website. I've made countless phone calls to the company. They never return my calls. I've also sent numerous text messages to the owner Waylon. Again, he never responds. It's clear that he has no interest in customer satisfaction. It's been almost a year and the job is still not complete. Do yourself a favor and go with Storm Smart or anyone else. read more

Shutters are installed and two weeks later the electrician came and now we are seeing what our $8300 have bought. One is so lopsided that it is crumpled when opened And almost 3" off the ground on one side. We have contacted the company several times with no response from the company. The building permit is still pending and yet they do not return phone calls or emails.. so disappointed and wondering what kind of action we need to take . Also, they did not install the color we asked for, which is required by our HOA so we don't even know what lies ahead for this whole fiasco. Had lots of contact before we paid our money. I made an appointment several weeks ago for a rep from Hurricane Safe Shutters to come to my home to give me options for new shutters. Today was my appointment at 1:00. They called at 10 AM to ask if the guy could come then. I said no, 1:00 was fine. The guy showed up at 12:20 without a mask and said he would go out and measure for shutters. I said I had made the appointment looking for options and told him to put a mask on and met him outside. He said there were only two options which was odd as I had gotten bids from other company with lots of options. He was kind of loud and kind of rude. At that point I told him to just leave. I used to have a job where I met with people in their homes and I would NEVER have showed up early. read more

Ive had 3 opportunities to deal with Hurricane Safe. The first time they finished the job and all was well. There were a few details that could have been better, but I was confident that they would correct them and for the most they did. The second time, they moved the shutters that they installed at first and finished all but 1 shutter on the house. In making the move, they broke off tap con screws and left them sticking out of the wall. They also cut into my stucco and made no attempt to make a repair. Also, they were rude to my wife, which I was not present to hear so I gave them the benefit of the doubt. Today we had them back to do the last leg of our house. We wanted them to finish so that there were no differences between their shutters and someone elses. We received a much better quote from another company, but they matched it and got the job. They did fine installing the shutter, however, they left several screws strewn in the yard and they trashed our shrub bed. When we approached them about it, one of the crew got rude again as with my wife the prior trip. His response to trashing the shrubs was, "we had to get in to drill for the screws". We then took back the check and called the office at which point, the girl in the office was equally as rude...seems to be something that they may be proud of! I have not yet heard back from Steve the owner, but im sure I will. Funny, a simple apology and all of this could have been avoided. Im sorry to say that I can not recommend this company. Although their prices are competitive, customer service is not a concern that is high on their list...getting the job done, getting paid and getting out is! read more
