I took those slices off and ate them with a couple of the lettuce leaves that were on the burger, too. The onion rings were delicious with the herb mayo we ordered with it. The ambiance is laid back. You can order from your table or go up to the counter to do it. We ordered tap water and they have a carafe of it with two glasses.

Decided to order El Fish burger - $10 (price subject to change) which consist of battered fish, cos lettuce, cheese, tomatoes, pickles and lemon herb aioli. I decided to opt out the vegetables as the burger might be bloated and the main taste might not be there. With an additional $5, you could choose a drink and a side dish: chips, sweet potato chips or coleslaw. I am a fan of sweet potato chips and hence I ordered that with Kirk's creamy soda. Next time round I'll probably give the cheesy bacon chips and one of the shakes. Servers are friendly and food arrived within 5 minutes. The burger's buns are crispy and well-cooked. The ingredients are also well-cooked and flavorful. The sauce... Just beyond words. It just makes you wanting to eat more of those. I am glad I opted out the vegetables as it might be of a little different taste. The sweet potato chips are crispy and came in a good portion as well. Not only it is of a good price, I enjoyed every bite of my meal. I love the consistent crispiness of the ingredients as well as the lingering taste of the sauces that accompanied it. Parking is a challenge but we were here on a Wednesday midday so we scored a park right out in front. This must be the only parking that is not time limited or attracts a fee. The service was excellent. There is not a view of the beach from the tables but just across the road behind the bush is the beach. Our entrees (first course) were chorizo with a bit of chilli and pear, walnut & goat cheese bruschetta. Very nice. The mains were ploughman's lunch and fried chicken. I was even impressed with the coleslaw. These were reasonable serves and were easily shared. No problems with paying extra for the coffees too.

Pretty much Neil Perry-ed maccas. Chips are deliciously done, with a choice of normal salt, chilli salt or (curiously) szechuan pepper salt. Self serve tomato sauce, definite plus. Slightly pricey, but it's a solid burger. If it were cheaper, it wouldn't be scaled right compared to our overpriced maccas. The drinks aren't worth it imo, house made ginger beer was weak and came in a small cup - hard to justify its 4.50 pricetag.

Super tender and while it could have used more seasoning, the sauce we got with it paired perfectly. For myself I got the burger and beef ribs combo. For me this is where things go down hill. The beef ribs were TOUGH, hard to bite through and get off of the bone. As for the burger it was pretty dry but luckily I had the sauce from the kangaroo to fix that. I can say that the fries were perfectly cooked though. They have a number of cocktails to choose from but the beer menu was pretty limited.

On a positive note the server did replace my wine after a fly decided to practice treading in it (it failed). We were sitting outside, so I definitely don't blame them that it happened and they replaced my whole glass despite the fact that I had already drank half of it, so I give them points for that.
