I had been looking for a good clay/skeet/trap shooting place to go to since falling in love with it on a guys weekend in ATL. I tried the one in Gastonia and it was a negative. I was a hopeful of Hyatt's so the fellas and I loaded up the shotgun and took the 45 mins ride from Charlotte. Worth the ride. The grounds are well maintained. The parking lot is huge so you dont have to park right up on someone when having to get guns and stuff out of the vehicle. It's a short walk from the parking lot to the check in building and I even saw people driving golf karts back down to the parking lot to carry their stuff. Which lead me to, GET a golf kart!!! When you check in you're asked if you want a golf kart or not($30 I believe for non members). We did the 14 station woods course and got started around 12 noon. It wasn't burning up but walking from station to station carrying a 12ga and shells doesn't seem ideal. When we first got their we were hungry. We went over to the grill to purchase food and was informed it's no charge, just a donation to a group(more on that later). The pulled pork, baked beans, slaw and that dang LEMONADE!!!! All of it was great! Literally all of it. The young lady and the guy at the desk for check in = F&%king AWESOME!!! They explained everything as we were 1st timers to this field and they were very helpful and in great spirits. You could tell they enjoyed working their. To speak on the difference briefly, the shooting field I went to in Gastonia upon arrival it was evident that African Americans didn't belong there in everyone's eyes, including the manager or owner. Since I had my nephews I didn't shoot or spend our money their(long story). Here I braced for the a similar experience knowing we may be the only black guys their and it was nothing like that from the time they said how are y'all doing. Again, we did the wood course which was clean at each station, of course you expect to see shotgun shells and ammo boxes around but the shooting stations themselves were real nice. The guy from the front desk took us to the 1st station and explained how each station work and how to use the card. He made sure we were okay before he left us. Half way through around station 6 or 7 he came riding down the trail just to check on us and make sure everything was going good. That I could appreciate and especially bc we actually needed a couple of more boxes of ammo. He asked if we wanted any water, gatorade or lemonade since it was so hot. He was the one saying try the lemonade try the lemonade so we opted for 3 cups of lemonade. 10 mins later he was back with 3 cups of iced lemonade (5stars) and more ammo. I can not compliment him enough for how good his service and personality was. It took us a couple of hours on the course and it was all fun. The trails for the golf karts were debris free, clearly marked and easy to ride or walk on. Once we wrapped up and went in to pay, they asked if we enjoyed. Of course we said we really loved it and the manager came out and we all started joking and laughing together! I cant say enough about this shooting field but they are top notch. I would highly recommend and definitely go back.

Hyatt Farms is a class act in sporting clays. The grounds are stunningly beautiful. The pro shop and event center are top notch. Most of all and most importantly are the people that work at Hyatt Farms. As a newbie in sporting clays, they have been supportive and helpful. They have become like family.

Two clay bird ranges. Well maintained with constant monitoring and instant help if needed. Gun rental available. Cart rental $20. (needed) Your given card you insert at each station that keeps track of the number of birds you use including any practice shots. Other pistol and rifle areas and a long shot station. On site restaurant with very good food. Pay by the number of birds you use. (.41ea). 1st time here but I will be back. read more

Awesome shooting complex in Polkton, NC, not a bad drive from Lancaster, SC about 1hr and 10 minutes. I am very impressed with the organization and the staff at this complex, the service is amazing. The staff here are very knowledgeable and friendly. The facility has a wide array of choices for all types of shooters, 2 courses of Sporting Clays, 5 Stand, 600 yard Rifle Range, 50 yard Rifle Range, Pistol Range, etc. For all the options here at Hyatt Farms the value is outstanding, it is comparable to One Stop Shopping!! Easy 5 Stars !! read more
An amusement park for shooters. Larry Hyatt has created an excellent, multifaceted outlet for fire arms owners. Different ranges that are uniquely challenging. And the sign-in location is also a sales outlet and information service. Downside is that it is an 1.5 hour drive out east to get there. That is OK as they also have a snack bar that has nicely grown in menu selections and beverages. And very nice staff. In fact, really nice, gun-centric, knowledgeable people are all around you. They answer questions, give advise and educate and explain rules and how various ranges operate. The staff also can advise how to deal with gun problem-solving. An enjoyable place, for sure. read more

I have been to Hyatt Farms four times now (last visit on 9/29) and every time I'm impressed with their operation and facilities. I like to go shooting on the weekdays to avoid crowds, so a Wednesday or Thursday are my favorite days. The 600 yard rifle range is outstanding and the Range Officers are so helpful in making you familiar with the range and offering suggestions for improved accuracy. The pistol ranges are excellent with the steel targets and the flexibility they offer in allowing you to shoot specific shooting drills. Overall, the range is well laid out, maintained to a high standard, and it's refreshing to have Range Officers who work with you. read more

This is the coolest place to go shooting clays for the day. It's like golf but with shotguns and minus the 18 beers. There is a nice little snack place to get a sandwich or something after your round. read more

I went to Hyatt today with my brother and a buddy and had a great time. We got there at about 8:45 and grabbed some breakfast. The ladies inside were extremely nice and eager to serve us. We just got simple bacon, egg and cheese sandwiches which were as good as you can expect one to be. We went in the pro shop to get our cart key and card for the sporting clay stations. The guys in the pro shop asked if we've ever shot sporting clays and used the equipment before, so they were ready to help if it was needed (I had used the equipment at other places before so didn't need help). Once we got to the course, everything was well labeled. There are 14 stations with different setups on each. Some were more challenging than others, but none were impossible. A beginner could go out and have a good time. Most of the course was wooded, so it was fairly cool out. The three of us got through our round very quickly as we were the first on the course and didn't have to wait behind anyone. We stopped by the pro shop afterwards to pay and the guys chatted with us for a while. They seemed interested in how we did and we talked about hunting for a bit. Overall, everyone who worked there was genuinely kind and seemed to enjoy what they do. I will definitely go back. The only improvement I can think of is get some more golf carts. Surprisingly, there weren't a ton of people there for a Saturday morning, but a group had to wait for us to get back to use the cart we had used. All and all, this is a great location, a lot of fun, and has great employees. Not to mention, the views from the porch are fantastic! I would definitely recommend Hyatt Farms to anyone! read more

We've shot at Hyatt Farms on several different occasions with people who vary in experience. I had personally only shot skeet a couple of times and have really enjoyed gaining knowledge and skill. Evan is great and makes sure that your group is well taken care of each time. We'll definitely keep coming back! read more
