As you all know, I'm a Hyatt guy when it comes to utilizing those name-brand hotels/lodgings for points and benefits. Due to having an assignment in Katy, I decided instead of driving back to my Houston residence, I would lodge here for the week in the first week of September. This location was less than a mile from my assignment so commuting would be much more pleasant. I wasn't expecting much from this location but I was pleasantly surprised upon arriving that Sunday evening and being warmly greeted by the front desk and handed my key and complimentary gift bag. Upon entering the room, it was clean and had a pleasant scent with a work station and comfortable bed. Typical things I expect from Hyatt brands. Breakfast/coffee are tasty and among the better ones compared to other hotel brands and they have plenty of lounges and work areas with USB/power outlets in the lobby areas if you need to kill time. Exercise room is clean as well although some of the machines have that early 2000s vibe with the graphics and buttons. But they still work, thank god. Wouldn't mind staying here again should I be on another assignment in the Katy area.

I've been to the highest hyatts and the lowest lows but this isn't one of either. We've only stayed at three, no actually 4, hotels in the Katy area as far as I recall, and this one was not bad. The price is the only reason it gets three stars. It's not cheap even with the online discount that we got. Having said that the service was nice and the room was lovely, and if it was a bit cheaper it would easily get four stars from me.

    Good morning

***COMPLIMENTARY BREAKFAST AND GOOD COFFEE*** The other reviews are bad but I have yet to have a bad experience in any of these hotels. I've always received good customer service and my rooms are constantly clean. They've been accommodating wherever I've needed anything and I like the style. The people above our room are heavy footed but so are we. At night, it's perfectly quiet though. I'm not thrilled that they are pet friendly but so far my allergies are ok and I have yet to hear a dog bark more than once or twice Hopefully you'll have a good experience here. Sweet dreams!

I am writing to discuss my traumatic experience at the Hyatt Place Houston/Katy. I was compelled to check out of the Hyatt Place Houston/Katy on November 12th earlier than my November 15th check-out date. On the evening of November 11th, I woke up due to a constant irritation behind my ears due to bed bug infestation in room 204. Immediately, I turned on the light and noticed several bed bugs crawling on the pillows, and sheets. In addition, my partner had bug bites on her back. We immediately brought this information to the hotel's attention and were transferred to another room, but I no longer felt comfortable sleeping at the hotel. Waking up to bed bugs was unacceptable and an inconvenience to me because I had to work the next morning. Though the hotel transferred us to a new room, we switched rooms in the middle of the night. Even after moving to a new room I still could not sleep, due to the feeling of things crawling all over. Please note that the manager was not on site and was told that he would be on site in the morning. The following morning, around 9am, I went down to the main desk to speak with the manager to checkout early, and kept getting the run around. The manager had still not arrived at 1pm; nonetheless, the front desk did their best to help despite the manager stating (via phone) that I would not receive my money back and I would still be charged the full amount. It's almost incomprehensible as to why both my partner and I must suffer when the hotel was negligent. We are now responsible for washing our clothes, throwing away our luggage, and making sure that we do not carry bed bugs back to our homes which would put our families in jeopardy.

We stopped in for one night on a long road trip. The hotel room was clean and up to date. They also offer a breakfast with a good selection. My only complaint is that the bed was lumpy.

My boyfriend and I stayed at this hotel for 2 nights. On the last night, my boyfriend and I woke up feeling a bit itchy and weird. As we lifted up the pillows we saw a bunch of little eggs and what looked like crumbs of sand. We ended up sweeping them off the bed and only was able to take a picture of just a section. Imagine, it was under the both of us and under the pillows, so there was a lot. It was completely disgusting. My boyfriend then walked down to see what we can get done since we were both upset. The lady in the front desk, I believe was named Tammy, but she wouldn't give me a name confirmation. She offered to call the manager and send housekeeping to check it out. When the housekeeper got there all she asked was to change the sheets and we let her know it was on the bed as well as the floor. We then left for breakfast. When we came back we went back into our room and could only lay on the bed for a just a minute before we felt disgusted again. It was not enjoyable. We called the front desk to first ask if we could stay 30 minutes after checkout which she said was fine, but we ended up leaving early because we really couldn't stay in the room any longer. Then we called again and asked if she could call the manager and she said she had already called. We then said we would wait for the manager to come and then she hung up rudely. We went downstairs to ask again to see if she could call once more and she kept saying that the manager was unavailable and wasn't answering his phone. Which I believe is very unprofessional, especially when there are so many reviews that have had similar experiences. As we were talking to her, she even threatened to call the cops on us when we were speaking to her about how else we could go about getting something done since the manager was "unavailable". The lady at the front also left customers waiting 10-15 minutes without being helped because she was constantly walking to the back before getting back on her phone to watch videos by the front desk. We will definitely not be coming back. Not even the Hyatt helpline helps because I've been on hold for an hour. I wouldn't recommend this place to anyone. Our emails have been sent and are reviews are being posted. This incident was very disgusting and unprofessional.

The hotel offer refresh service every other day start on the 3" day of your stay. full services on the 6 " day of your stay. The next day of my stay the lady cleans I talk with her occasionally and I ask for a brum for my cats if the rooms needs and emergency refresh but the house keeping lady never returned. I went down stairs and ask for my bill and the receptionist told me that we will receive the bill the day of the check out. And when I ask for the cleaning services she just told me that she can gave me the towels instead of send the lady' to clean. I walk through the hall and all the garbage bags were out the door This was awful and unpleasant for me. The lady went to the room and just bring the towels and took the garbage that I already collected. The lady has a bad attitude and didn't do the job that she had chosen with contesy or like a profesional cleanner. I suggest the owner to training all the lady's and talk with the supervisor for this matter. I understand or think that we have the option to reject the keeping lady inside the room to do her job but in my case this lady disappeared and I really need to have my room organized and clean I do like that the toilet wasn't clean for the days i stay at the hotel and I have to ask for all the cleaning supplies I needed for replenished. Outside the door the hotel eventougth looks quiet and beay but the journey at the rest inn was not pleasant for me at this particularly location. Rooms dirty keeping ladys actitud wrong Receptionist unkind Thanks for reading

If you are just skimming this review then all you need to know is do NOT stay here!…read more Now, for the details: Booked a 2 Queen room, but they claimed upon check-in that the Military Discount only applies to active duty personnel, so they recommend a 2 room suite for a premium fee. When told that we just wanted the 2 Queen room, they said that the two room suite was cheaper. Traveling more than 4 hours, just wanted a room, so done ($250+ per night, absolutely a rip off). (I suspected that they either overbooked, or didn't have any Queen rooms.) Construction going on at this hotel (June 2025), just for your info. (Many hotels discount their rates a bit when they have construction going on, but not here). Breakfast was standard, so no issues there, except for the staff member who emptied the trash, but put the lid back on, not knowing a yogurt container was thrown away and from the reaction from the staff member, you would have thought a dirty diaper had been tossed out... The room was clean and the suite was nice, albeit expensive. However, the room was never cleaned until the front desk was approached and it was strongly requested. Again, for this kind of money, you would think that you would get the room cleaned and refreshed daily. The second night, early in the AM, (from approximately 1 AM to about 3:30 AM) the room above had a heard of elephants or perhaps a good old fashioned Texas rodeo was going on, maybe a stampede? Anyway, after a bit a call to the front desk resulted in no change, a second call to the front desk resulted in the clerk stating that she was the only employee in the hotel and couldn't do anything other than ask the loud guests to quiet down. Many concerns here, such as being right on the outskirts of Houston, and this being a larger hotel, there is no security or more than just one employee? Yikes! Not safe for the employee or the numerous guests! I called and spoke to the front desk in the morning and his indifference was overpowering. He basically brushed off ALL of my concerns from arguing with me about the price of the room, the change of rooms (he confirmed me suspicions when he told me there were only three 2 queen bed rooms in the whole hotel, so they were also premium), not that makes any sense at all, but he also stated that only active duty got discounts, but no retirees, when I asked about first responder discounts, he changed his tune and said, because of the premium room, there were no discounts. He also argued that the night clerk had done her job, which she may have done, e.g. called the room or what up there, but it was not effective. When I asked about escalation, e.g. calling the cops, he didn't have an answer, nor did he have one for my concern for the hotel night clerk and the guests staying there. By now, most hotel clerks would have spoken to their management about a discount or a room reduction due to the noise and poor nights sleep, inconveniences, oh and especially as it was a "premium room" and all that, but nope! The only thing he offered to die was put a few extra points on my Marriott rewards. Poor customer service and my biggest issue was the apathy and lack of empathy / caring. I did NOT feel valued as a customer at all. Very disappointed with the whole experience, I will NOT be staying at a Marriott chain (Residence Inn in this case), anytime in the near future. With so many hotels to choose from these days, look at the Yelp reviews and just call the hotel itself and ask general questions, and see how the staff responds to your questions, were they patient or were the rude or disrespectful, perhaps only just meh? In any case, from the prices hotels charge these days, I don't think it is too much to ask to be treated fairly, respectfully and professionally! 1 star removed for check in experience 1 star removed for front desk clerks apathy / attitude 1 star removed for construction and late night / early morning noise 1 star removed for overall experience and high cost (upselling) of room, etc. If I could given zero stars, I would have. I also called corporate Marriott to see if their customer service folks gave a darn, the lady I spoke with was very patient and kind and listened, but not sure what will come of that, if anything.
