    Nice and spacious room

This is the perfect place to say if you want quiet and relaxation. You don't have the hustle and bustle of a stay in downtown KC but you are close to restaurants and some walkable. It is so cute and has a delicious breakfast that truly surprised me for a hotel. I would definitely go back.

Hyatt Place was the location of a company two day meeting, with about 150 people for 2 nights. Throughout my stay, the staff I encountered were friendly, and the room was spacious and clean. I had breakfast from the lobby once, which was better than expected with fresh hot food coming out often, and a variety of cold things including yogurt and toppings that was my pick. We had catered meals for 4 of them, which were all quite good. The only issue encountered was for a friend/co-worker with a dairy allergy that couldn't be accommodated for one of the meals. However, I don't believe the Hyatt staff had been told ahead. A full bar and lobby would have been nice for our group, but there were some limited options. Overall, it met the needs with no issues for me.

The staff was very friendly and the room was ready four hours early. The second time we stayed there all the same above applies, except for the new room was a little more worn with a few stains on the carpet. Staff was very friendly and accommodating to try to get us into some rooms early without extra charge. I like how there's a restaurant attached in the lobby for burgers and basics, including a bar, which is nice. Definitely seek out the roof rooftop bar, which is away from the crowds downstairs. Managers reception was basic with chips and cheese bites and carrots. But we are all mainly there for the free drinks. Drinks are well drinks and if you tip your server he just might spike your drink more or give you more tickets in appreciation.

I mean come one... put in some real lights. The bed was good the room was clean. It just needed to be updated. I also don't like it when the tv is not centered on the bed or when you have to turn sideways to watch it. I mean how is that comfortable and who actually thought that was a good design? Price ok, staff good, room passable.

The hotel has a nice pool and a large gymnasium for exercise . There are 3 elliptical, 5 runners and 2 stationary bikes , plus many weight lifting machines. I am impressed that it has clean towels , water fountain and cups , and an antiseptic wipe counter . It is so important to have antiseptic wipe in a gym to prevent transmission of germs . The Bistro has hot food for order and Starbucks coffee . Lady works there is super polite and helpful . The lobby area near by are well designed . You can relax to eat and chat , read a book or work on the laptop . There is an outdoor patio too if you like to go outdoor . The only draw back I have is the Starbucks does not provide Stevia ( Truvia ) sugar alternative. It is the most healthy , does not cause cancer and is highly recommended by doctors . In other coffee shops outside , they all have Truvia . I enjoy my stay here . I highly recommended this hotel .

Most hotels I've been to have switched to self checkout for these things. Makes it easier. Housekeeping comes early, starts knocking on the doors at 9 am. They knocked I told them I was inside, do no disturb was on the door. The knocked again. I said I was inside. They came in and were surprised I was in there. They vacuumed the hallways, slamming the vacuum into my door and the walls multiple times. Guests are in the lobby into all hours of the night. Could hear them from my room (not an issue if you stay on the second floor and above I suppose) but my king suite was just down the hallway. Seems crazy that at 12am they let people be down there shouting. One morning the room above me sounded like people were running around and slamming things on the ground. Good luck sleeping past 8 here, it turns into a madhouse between housekeeping and the guests. Stay at the Holiday Inn next door, it's much better.

Checking in at this hotel was an absolute nightmare. It took nearly two hours to get through the…read moreprocess, and the front desk clerk seemed completely unprepared to handle even basic transactions. The guest in front of us was charged three times on his credit card, had to come back down twice (once because his room key hadn't even been coded, and again to deal with the billing errors), and eventually gave up after watching our ordeal. When it was our turn, the clerk told me my card for the deposit had been denied. I asked him to try again--it went through just fine. Then he said there was an issue with the third-party booking site's card. He eventually got a rep on the phone who was polite and helpful, but the clerk put the call on speaker and then walked away while the rep was still on the line. I ended up having to answer so the rep wouldn't hang up. Meanwhile, the clerk tried to check in another couple...whose card "didn't work" either. He said he needed to reset the server, and throughout the process he kept quoting the wrong amounts to the rep--even off by a penny at one point. Because we had been in the lobby so long, he even claimed the dates weren't lining up anymore (we started the process on the 19th!). The waiting couple got so frustrated that they tried to help him because nothing he said made sense. When asked for the manager's card, the clerk handed over an email for someone who wasn't even the manager listed on the sign behind him. The other guests finally took a room just to end the ordeal but said they'd be disputing the charges. After multiple attempts, the rep finally guided the clerk through completing our check-in. I don't know if he was entering the numbers incorrectly or simply didn't understand the system, but it felt like a bad comedy sketch. To top it off, he was speaking into the phone's handset even though it was on speaker. Bottom line: The hotel itself seems clean, but the check-in process was unbelievably chaotic and unprofessional. I trust the third-party booking site we used--we've never had an issue with them--but this hotel's customer service is extremely unreliable. Be warned.
